Jeff Wesson
There are a couple of things they are doing different now that help improve the dispatch times. First, they aren't allowing preferred seating anymore. A person now tells you which row to go in. Also, they are no longer using the unloading area that they used to. The trains are brought into the main area and are unloaded and then loaded at the same time. This seems to speed things up dramtically so that almost as soon as a train is coming into the station, the other one is already leaving. I couldn't believe how quickly they were getting the trains out of the station. A huge improvement!
RIP Psyclone
I haven't been on X2 yet but how exactly did they change the loading procedure, compared to the old X. For a one train operation, the new unloading/loading procedure saves time. It probably does for 2 trains as well. 3 trains, well, that would have to be seen. Hopefully a lot of fine tuning will take place in the months to come. It just hurts seeing an unused X2 train in the shed, when we were promised 3 train operation at all times. TheRealTinkerbell
Just to clarify something, when you are just cresting the lift hill, the voice doesn't say "We are high up", it says "We are un-hooked". REALLY?! Because the 20 times I went on it in a row, everytime it played it sounded like "We are HIGH UP!" I mean...I would remember if it said "We are Un-hooked" I even remember people saying how their favorite part was the "We are HIGH UP!" Heck, I would even scream it out with the audio. Are you SURE it says "we are un-hooked"? Can anyone else confirm this, because if so, I need to go get my ears checked ASAP!

Bolliger&Mabillard
I saw how efficient this ride is with all three trains. A huge step forward for the ride, but I still feel something could have been don with the old unload station. With all three trains running, a train still sits in the old unload for a good 45-60 seconds. that time could be used for something...or at least put a screen in the back station to entertain the folks waiting there. evil saltine
Whoo hoo. So no more closing one hour prior to the normal park closing? On Saturday, when I got to the line just after 9:30 it was closed.
Bolliger&Mabillard
We might see that one hour thing pop back up if the line gets up to 2-3 hours during peak.
TheRealTinkerbell
^ There is a video on YouTube entitled "X2 POV Front Seat Six Flags Magic Mountain NEW" that clearly says, "We Are High Up!" if you look up that video, at about 1:05 you'll hear the We Are High Up part. So...yeah. I think we can all agree it says "We are HIGH up" Moving on... I really love the new idea they had with the loading and unloading. When I went to HH on friday, I was watching the dispatches from the family raft, and I could see how much they had improved on dispatch times within a week. There was even one time when I saw the train finish the last raven turn, and there was another car already getting dispatched. Kudos to MM and their awesome staff! RIP Psyclone
I think once the source of "We are high up!" is identified, it will finally be put to rest. Pretty much everything else is covered, except the "Jekyll & Hyde" bit.
cooksta77
I have to admit that's impressive Going out of the raven turn and it's dispatched! The only thing is they need to put a muzzle on the lift hill it's tooo loud!!!!!
TheRealTinkerbell
The only thing is they need to put a muzzle on the lift hill it's tooo loud!!!!! Hmm, I'm actually partial to the lift hill being so close to you and so loud. I mean, for some it could be intimidating and for others it could be a rush. I know for those who are lift hill enthusiasts, when you see a lift hill and you hear that loud clacking, it gets you pumped up to want to ride. But if you're scared, when you hear that it's like the lift hill is saying "I'm coming to get you! Be afraid, be very afraid" or something like that. It's trying to get you to chicken out. cooksta77
Yeah well by that time you would have waited about 2 hours so why would you chicken out?

meme901
Rode X2 yesterday for the first time. They closed the line at about 9:30 it seemed like, we got in line at 9:15 though. The wait was about 1:45. I like the monitors and the music in the line, but after seeing the video loop go through on the third time and hearing the same songs played once again, I was bored and annoyed with it. I would have liked to see them make an hour long video loop. I never rode the original X, but the train dispatch system seemed really inefficient to me. There were a couple of times where the train had been unloaded and the ops waited 2-3 minutes to open the gates, for what seemed like no reason. The ride itself was totally amazing and disorienting, I rode back-row-right outside seat. The roughness seemed to add to the intensity, but I do wish it were smoother though. The fog and the lighting effects were cool. The fire cannons were not on, and I didn't see them on once all day. Not a good sign for the park's ability to maintain these effects if they are already turning some off two weeks later. I liked the on board music on the lift hill, didn't notice it at all once we went through the drop. I kind of wish that you could hear all-of-the-people-around-you's screams as well, but they're completely drowned out by the music. When's another company going to come out with a 4-D design? I would love one of these with the smoothness of a B&M.

There were a couple of times where the train had been unloaded and the ops waited 2-3 minutes to open the gates, for what seemed like no reason. You should have seen the original X. Unloading/loading was at least twice as slow, especially with a 1 train operation, which seemed to be the case, usually. X/X2 is just a slow loading/unloading attraction. There's no way around that as it is now. Dual loading stations is the only way I could see capacity ever really improving, but of course that requires a lot more staff. Until then, 3 trains doesn't improve capacity over 2. When's another company going to come out with a 4-D design? I would love one of these with the smoothness of a B&M. S&S inherited the 4D coaster from Arrow, and so far they've only made one more. Eejanaika, in Japan. There's a lot about it on this site.

Those effects are controlled automatically and if it is too windy they won't fire for safety. John
RocknGuitar
I just rode X2, and I must say... It is incredible! Even though the fog was not functioning, the fire definately was! I loved the music, except Sabotage. I hate that song. Anyways, great job MM with Thomas Town and X2 and such, I got a taste of both and its a great step in the right direction. cooksta77
Even though the fog was not functioning! I hate to break it to ya but that's all the fog your gonna get! I went on opening day and the day after and the fog was on the ground! That's the only thing they need to fix, (besides the looping on the monitors in the queue), the amount of "INTENSE" fog! they put on the ride!!!!
PURE
The fog's pointless anyway, by the time the 1st car of the train gets through it at the bottom of the drop, its already gone. And the second batch of fog they said would be after the 2nd turnover to "cool off riders from the flames" is still not there, probably never to show up. I really dig the new trains, I like the soundtrack and the fresh painted track, but the only new effect on the track layout (that actually every rider can see) is fire. So it went from tunnels and lights...to fog and fire...to just fire. And sometimes not even fire. Booooo...
