9 3rd Graders in Georgia came up with a plan to kill their teacher for revenge because she disiplined one of their classmates. They brought handcuffs and ducttape to school, and two of them brought a paperweight and a knife. How could 3rd graders think of that? Thats some really messed up Sh!t if you ask me.

I saw that as an AOL news headline... I thought it was so funny!

One thing that made me laugh about this was when it said each of the little kids had their own little task to carry out, like pulling down the curtains and cleaning up after the kill.

Um, that's just plain scary! I don't like mean teachers, but I wouldn't think to kill them. I'm suprised third graders would even think of that. Wow!

When I was in 3rd grade, my idea of killing the teacher was shooting spitballs and rubber bands. And some songs that are never to be meant to be song again.

Years ago, when little kids pulled this kind of stunt (and yes this kind of plotting has happened before), noone even batted an eye or took it so seriously.

Children are children, NOT miniature adults with years of life experience like many of us have.

Wow... I am shocked

I have a feeling that even if the tried to go through with it they would fail simply because the teacher is an adult. It would be quite a task for 3rd graders to restrain him/her simply because of strength and size differences. And if the teacher sees students coming towards him/her with knives and handcuffs, do you think he/she is going to stick around long enough for them to handcuff him/her and carry out the deed?

Is there a legitimate news article behind this thread? If so could someone please post a link, because this is all speculation so far with no real details.

With that said, this doesn't really surprise me. Kids do angry stuff like this all the time, but their chances of being successful were slim to none. I bet incidents like this happen more often than we'd think, it was probably just a slow news day.

I heard about this on Rove last night (A really funny Australian talk show).

To be honest, i'm not surprised that 3rd graders thought it up. I don't think that we were that stupid back then.

Police seized a steak knife with a broken handle, steel handcuffs, duct tape, electrical and transparent tape, ribbons and the paperweight from the students, Tanner said.

How old is someone in the 3rd grade?

I work in a legal branch and we've had a few cases where kids bring knives into school for the sole purpose of 'knifing' someone - it's scary how kids grow up these days

Third graders are kids who are 7 and 8 years old. I'm surprised that little kids could actually think of such a complex plot. In terms of the complexity of the "tools" used, I'm not surprised. But in terms of the micro-management, that is what I'm surprised about. I mean, I wouldn't have thought of getting a kid to wipe clean the place with the curtains when I was that age.

Thats what the paperweight was for, to knock the teacher out, or so I read.

I heard about this in the middle of my drafting class. Honestly it scares me to think that kids that age are plotting these kinds of things. I certaintly have never planned anything like that in my life! and Im twice their age.....

^^I was wondering what the paperweight was to be used for. But dang, if they even thought to knock her out, these kids are smart. In the bad way.
