Dude, I'm so jealous. Vault Icee and college life...man I miss both.

After such a vivid description, dunno if I have the guts to try the red blitz now.

I'm heading to Birmingham around May 17 for a wedding. Would you and the other TPR folks want to meet up and hit Alabama Adventure during that time?

The Tuscaloosa Weather Channel predicted 2 inches of snow tomorrow and nicknamed this as the "Alabama Freeze". Me, Robby, and Scott have all lived in the North before so we find this hilarious.

2 inches, that is nothing, I would be out driving in that. *homer*doooooouuuuuggggnnnnnnuuttts*homer*. I need to get to a Krispy Kreme, the closest one is about an hour and 15 minutes away. I would hate to see how people in Alabama handle 6-8 inches of snow, I would still be out in it driving around.

They roll up the sidewalks and call a state of emergency. The local news get everbody freaked out in the name of ratings. There's a blitz on tp and milk at the stores. Kids are pulled out of schools. Dogs and cats living together. Mass hysteria.

Ray, tell 'em about the twinkie....

Man, that was great! Someone was missing, but I won't say who!

(grins and shakes head in that "I understand" way)

You're 27, bud.

Several years ago, one of my friends who was 19, started dating a 27 year old after things fell apart with her 21 year old boyfriend. Even now, one of my close friends (who is also 27) is dating a lady of 19. Translation: as long as everybody's happy and respectful, age becomes relative.

Matter of fact, at 24, I dated a lady who was 37. We just hit it off. Helped me grow up some too.

^Oh yeah, I agree that age doesn't matter... unless it's an age that can put you in prison in many states. The person he's talking about is only 16. But I'm not trying to make a big deal about it. I like to think he's probably just running with a joke now.

^Ah, that's right. Thank you for reminding me of that. See what happens when you get old? You forget stuff.

No worries. I think he was a bit smitten with Nay as well. That'll divert his attention.

If RIP and I ever meet in person, I'll have to treat him to a beer or Vault Icee or something. Seems like a good guy with a good sense of humor.

Lmao...nice vid Tyler. Really makes me wish I had stayed in T-town, but seeing Cloverfield for free makes it slightly better. And for the Alabama Freeze haters....if you're like me and have lived in Bama your whole life, you love when 2 inches of snow comes....provided it does. Oh BTW Tyler...I still need to lose my virginity to Vault Icees now that I have forgiven the soft drink and taken her back.

^Geez man! A free beer and a date set-up. You're doing well today.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't find the humor in something like that...

I'm suprised you would take the topic so seriously, what with all the humor and innuendo that flies around this board. If it sets your mind at ease, noone is encouraging or considering under-age bad stuff. We all know better. It's wrong, and the innocent should remain so as long as possible.

It's like when I was called a pedophile for some innocent remarks I made about the midwest trip KI segment. People joked about that, and though I feel strongly about the topic, I can laugh at the whole situation now.

Obviously, Joey you feel strongly about this subject and I respect that. Hopefully this will clear a few things up.

The more controversial topic is not having sex with minors, but how do you feel about Vaultiality (having sex with Vault ICEEs). I'm really anticipating the presidential debates as too see how the politicians feel about it.

I'm so hot for her, I'm so hot for her, I'm so hot for her, BUT SHE'S SO COLD!

And no one has ever talked about sex with minors. Merely saying a girl is attractive (who I assumed was your age) is far from that.

God damn, the Alabama freeze was harsh. I was in Mobile the past weekend for personal reasons.

Other than that, the video was the definition of epic.

You guys sure are weak blooded in the south.

You poor, poor people suffering in your 40 degree temps. I spent Sunday morning freezing my hungover butt off in -4 Fahrenheit temps waiting for the bus.

You appreciate a warm futon and comforter more when you've just been through hell.

^ We do the same at the freezing point as people up there would if it were to reach 100F in the summer. People in general freak out when in an unfamiliar situation.. and I still have snow in my yard =/

Posted

^ I don't live THAT far north. We do get 100F weather during July/August.

I think it's a bit different when the south gets really cold weather. Sub zero weather can be quite shocking if it's not something you've experienced. And how to drive/deal with it isn't that obvious if you've never experienced it.

However, if up here we got a real unusual heat wave, it might be out of the ordinary. But it's still something that we do experience in some way. It's just that instead of warm/hot, it's crazy warm/hot.

The average high for Toronto in July is 81F. Tuscaloosa, where these kids live, has an average high of 93F. Quite a difference

But you are right about the driving thing, and honestly, I'll take the temps in the teens that we frequently get over any snow. Cold temps just require you to bundle up and doesn't require any clean up nor does it really affect driving, so long as your car starts

Posted

Yeah, but Toronto gets cooled somewhat by the lake affect.

In Waterloo the high last July/August was 95. Though the low over the same period was 40. That's the problem here, we have random extremes. In May it could be in the 70s one day, and 30s the next.

I can stand the cold until the inside of the windows start to freeze. That's when it gets depressing, when you're standing in the freezing wind, and you realize that after scraping for 10 minutes you still can't see out of 3 of your windows.

I don't know if it was that the weather forecast predicted 1-2 inches of snow or that at my p/t job was just short handed, but we were busy. My p/t job is basically a Florida type demographic, old rich people or old people in general.
