DoinItForTheFame
For 2019 we have purchased just over 1,000 pounds of candy.... and of course it’s suppose to be cold and rainy. We will probably only go through about 800 pounds.
Nrthwnd
^ That's still a crazy amount of candy! By the way, you DO mean 1000 pieces and not pounds? From your last year's post about it, you've now doubled the amount of candy, that you bought last year! And if it does rain, and you have leftovers, it should still 'last' till next October, lol. (Oct.31) Here's what we got out front, so far. I got lazy about putting the orange lights up. So...not this time. Next year, I promise. (Nov.01) This time, instead of being short of candy, we had nearly 100+ pieces left over! Doesn't look like much in the daytime. And here's David's craft skills result. Instead of a candle, we got something with little lights that blink. The whole thing. It'll be better at night, with the lights that are already up there. How it looked, at night. Every year we have grown in the amount of trick-or-treaters due to the light show. This year the weather ended up being clear!! No rain as first expected! We went through all of the candy except for about 20-30 pounds.

Nrthwnd
I just started putting up Halloween lights and stuff on our "newly revealed" front porch. After at least a decade of growing, I had had enough with the rhododendron "hedge" that had grown in front of our porch. And I wanted to SEE the sidewalk again! So the middle part was chopped out, and for now, I am dealing with some interesting decoration choices. Below is what I did last year. 'Quel Difference' for this year's set up! Soon, I will post the results. Plus I think we have figured out a pretty great way to get the candy to the kids! P.S. We decided to go ahead and plan for it, even though we are not sure whether the Trick & Treating will be condoned, albeit with the current Covid-19 precautions. We have the candy. We have the pumpkin. And we have GLOW STIX, too. (HINT: We use a long piece of SLIDE-LIKE gutter.) circa.Oct2019 ... #FrontPorchDoorAreaONLY
bert425
our house looks like an abandoned home, with lights kept off and shades drawn. we won't be giving out any candy, or answering the door. Need to be Covid safe, since my Spouse is considered high risk.

prozach626
We have three pumpkins on our front porch. We're doing the same thing we do every year, except the pumpkins aren't carved this year, because of infant time constraints. Outside of probably wearing a mask, nothing will change about how we hand out candy.
prozach626
We had four trick-or-treaters this year.
michaellynn4
First year in the new house, so wasn't sure what to expect. We followed proper protocols and set up a table outside with candy pieces separated so people could pick and choose without shoving their hands into a gross community bowl. I was setting up a new desk in my office by the front door, so I was planning on restocking as people would come by. Didn't have one trick-or-treater though. I saw a few out, but I suspect they only went to their neighbors and people in the neighborhood they were already familiar with to minimize contact. Oh well, more candy for me. Nrthwnd
We were actually shocked how many people made it out and round the block, Saturday night. We went through more candy than we ever expected to. Thankfully, we didn't run out. And sorry, sorry, sorry for the fuzziness and out-of-focus look on most of these photos. Once again, I didn't have my reading glasses on, so using the viewfinder was hit and miss with me. (Between cocktails) But it was a fun night for everybody who came buy to "catch some candy" from us. It's always David's job to carve out a great pumpkin face, every year. With flash. I "wove" some glow sticks in and around our "wattle nests" in front. Blurred, but bright. Hmmm. I kind of like this shot, slurred and all. Our Candy Delivery System. And it worked! Me up on the porch. With my Tokyo Disney hat on. Better shot of the hat. (o; And David. Pleased with all we've done, there.
