Thom25
I don't follow you at all KFC. Farenheit is made by Intamin so I see a little Maverick, SR, and even Collossus in there. The track is the same, some use the same colors, and like B&M, you just know an Intamin when you see it. With that said, I think the ride experience will be vastly different than other Intamins, and hope it's close to Maverick's intensity. Now Brandon, where is that testing video (jp)
SharkTums
Yeah I'm also a bit confused on how this ride is 'exactly like Chimelongs and Colossus'?!?!?! This one has a vertical drop, Norwegian loop, a much different looking cobra roll and some other elements. If you ask me the Intamin rides seem to differ much more from installation to installation compared to the B&M's with the same elements and order!!!! Thom25
^shark, excellent point. Intamin does a GREAT job of mixing up elements - if I see one more drop, loop, heartline, emilem - lol - don't get me wrong - I love em - but hats off to Imtamin for at least trying a 79 MPH launch followed by a heartline - it don't work - oh well - at least they honestly tried to push the envelop. coolhandluke
If you ask me the Intamin rides seem to differ much more from installation to installation compared to the B&M's with the same elements and order!!!! Yes! Loop, dive loop, zero-g, cobra roll, MCBR, 2 corkscrews (oftentimes interlocking). Sub an Immelman for the dive loop, batwing or roll-over for the cobra, 2nd loop for a corkscrew, add a loop--there's about 10 B&M floorless, inverts, and sitdowns with those layouts. I constantly enjoy watching Intamin release their new stuff, especially inverting coasters. B&Ms are certainly fun, just a little redundant (though Led Z. threw me off a bit). I'm trying to decide between this park or SFGAdv this summer. It was originally GAdv, but this is making it closer...
Thom25
^Don't want to get too off topic - but you're kidding - right? If you have never been to SFGA, then honestly you should go there - no question or debate. KK, Nitro, Medusa, and ET are GREAT rides. The Hard Rock park looks weak at best with Led Zeppelin and their other coasters appearing to deliver average ride experiences. Great for credits though, don't get me wrong. KFConcepts
I don't follow you at all KFC. It's just an opinion. I'm not trying to convince anyone to agree or disagree. I looking from technical and corporate views ... and figured what better place to get a knowledgeable groups opinion. I usually take a critical look at everything. I know most won't understand where I'm coming from, and that's ok. Your differing opinions actually help to create a balanced conclusion. Long term research will test any theories and conclusions. This industry is about fun first and foremost. What's "fun" differs depending on the target market, so any decision or opinion can work. I'm glad to have put this monster to bed. Your opinions have been (and will continue to be) fantastic - no matter which "side" is taken. I've learned much from TPR over the years.
Thom25
^I wasn't looking to be convinced or convince you of any thing. My comment or opinion was to help educate you that your post and the logic behind it was difficult to follow - no more - no less. You said "This ride is old hat w/ a different lift hill." Followed by " it's a modified Intamin 10 inversion coaster". It does have a different lift AND a steeper drop along with 4 less loops than a 10 inversion coaster. My point was that since it's the same manufacturer AND the same designer - it's logical that Fahrenheit would be similar to other Intamin rides. The industry is all about fun as you correctly pointed out - and I think you are over analysizing this ride.

hersheykid
Someone put up a testing video!!!
Ccron10
^Thanks. That was a great find! IMO the only slow part is on the first part of the Noreweigian loop. Center of the loop looks a little forceful. The cobra roll looks like it has enough spped to go through and it takes the corkscrews, turn and bunny hill very fast. Looks like a good piece of airtime there. alpengeist04
Looks great, I see no problem with the speed from that video.
coolhandluke
^^^^^ & ^^^^Yep, definitely meant Hershey. LR and Wildcat vs. ET, SR vs. KK, GB vs. B:TR, etc. And now this baby gives something I would imagine being similar to Medusa or a smooth, less redundant GASM. And a Maverick drop on crack. Mav already holds claim to my favorite drop, so this ride is making me absolutely drool. Can't wait to get there eventually.
yankees15
The ride does look a little slow in parts, but its not that bad. I'm sure it will speed up a little with the weather getting warmer and the ride breaking in. Also, to make it faster they can use different wheels and/or lube the track. Haha lube. I can't wait for this ride to open!
coasterfreak101
I don't see any problem with the speed in that video. Looks to take the norwegian loop and the cobra roll just fine, in my opinion. June 18 can't come soon enough!
FeelTheFORCE
This sounds louder than Maverick. I wonder if they filled the supports with sand or not? If not, that mini-roar sounds kinda cool!
Ccron10
I don't think the lift moves fast, but it seems to go at a normal lift speed about as fast as Sidewinder's.
coolhandluke
This sounds louder than Maverick. I wonder if they filled the supports with sand or not? If not, that mini-roar sounds kinda cool! Maverick's supports are no where as big as Fahrenheit's (since most of Mav is practically on the ground). Fahrenheit has more elevation, so the height of the supports is probably what makes it louder.

Fahrenheit has more elevation, so the height of the supports is probably what makes it louder. There are B&Ms with bigger supports than Fahrenheit's that sound much quieter (from what I can hear on the video). Take Silver Bullet for example. Support size doesn't make that much of a difference when they or the track spine are/is filled with sand. Intamin's aren't generally that loud, but this sounded like it had somewhat of a roar to it. It wouldn't be that loud (if that was Fahrenheit making the noise in the video) if the supports were filled with sand.
coolhandluke
Right. I'm saying that if they aren't filled with sand, that'd be a possible explanation. Maverick's supports are so small in most places it doesn't matter if they have sand or not. If they didn't have sand in Fahrenheit, that could explain the roar. But then again, this is all based on a video. I'll digress from my speculation. And revel in its glory.
FeelTheFORCE
Oh, yeah I agree completely. I mis-interpreted your post.
Ccron10
When I was up in April it did look like they were pouring something into the supports.
BRTeller
I guess I'm the one that needs to clear things up. Fahrenheit isn't very loud, it has noise, but not loud like great bear or anything. I would have put my video up, but the good one I got, I had to take it with a phone since my camera isn't meant for videos, so therefor it doesn't take them. But I have a LG voyager and the video is 45 seconds long, anyone have a solution. It told me the file was to large to transfer. But I did get the smaller one, with talking in it. I could post that if I have to.
