Gutterflower Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Howdy all Just came across this interesting new ride for 2008 at Beijing Shijingshan amusement park home of the worlds best imitation SLC and the recent Disney character scandal. http://rcdb.com/ig2906.htm looks like one of those old Caripro suspended rides... but with bigger drops. http://rcdb.com/ig4022.htm Is it me or does it remind u of a cross between Vertigo in Belgium and something from RCT? even better this is one of 2 coasters for next year with a new sitdown planned http://rcdb.com/id4028.htm
Goliath513 Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I wish we could get a coaster like this in the US.
IwantRevenge Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 that looks just like something you'd build in rct...notice the straight drops and the sudden 90* turns. I didn't think Caipro still built rides, could it be one of those chinese company look alikes?
yankees15 Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 This thing looks awesome! I only wish I could ride it.
Axman Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 My guess would be that "Beijing Shibaolai Amusement Equipment" is building this one. This company is behind that SLC imitation. Caripo went bankrupt and sold their desings to Premier Rides. Premier Rides is the other possibilty.
ash.1111 Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Wow, That would be so cool. It would be cool if they sloped the seats facing downwards so you cannot see the tracks. That would be one wild ride!
ash.1111 Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Well, if they do something wrong with their coasters, and it comes off the track, at least it's an added thrill
Jim S. Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 that looks just like something you'd build in rct...notice the straight drops and the sudden 90* turns. I'm not sure what you're getting at. All mice have straight drops and sudden 90* turns. In fact, most of them have more turns than this one. Somewhere in the world there's another suspended mouse, with a layout more like a normal mouse except they did bank the turns on it: http://www.amusementvideo.com/view_video.php?viewkey=23406c6cecf84a7ebb0f
kewlcoasterdude Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 LOL I think that coaster looks very boring. It wouldnt be a good attraction at any major park

coasterbilly Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 idk, looks can be decieving, if this is successful I wouldn't be surprised to see this at parks here in the US

The RCT comparisons are because the track literally looks like it's built in pre-designed sections, like just hooking pieces together instead of fully calculating the curvatures of the track to somewhat match the physics. Just look at that first large drop there, it looks like a piece of RCT straight track, a connector piece, a medium sloping downward piece of track, and then another connector to a straight piece.
stormrider Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 That's probably because the Chinese rip-offers are too lazy to make entirely curved sections Why "waste" your millions of dollars on a B&M when you can get contract Beijing Shiabaolai Amusements and get a rip off version LOL. http://www.china-sbl.com/ They've even made the Disk-O.
Shavethewhales Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 idk, looks can be decieving, if this is successful I wouldn't be surprised to see this at parks here in the US Meh, I hope not. It looks neither all that fun or thrilling compared to everything else out on the market. It reminds me of that Caprio creation where there were 4 seats set in a circle that spun around slowly as they went along a dull, gradually sloping track. It was inventive, yes, but not practical or as fun as other options.
