BeemerBoy
Down the home stretch. Just kidding, of course. Yes, this side needs a hyper. Oh, and if you didn't like this trip report, then my lemur friend has something for ya...... Oooh look, a bonus credit!! Unexpectedly, we lucked into both sides of the I-75 dueling rest areas. This side wasn't running as well today, and the ops were really slow at refilling the paper towel dispenser. Clearly the inferior side, but a credit nonetheless. Yep, we're back in Georgia. Cue the dueling banjos. Bye Busch. We'll miss you. My punishment for bashing Gwazi as much as I did. When in Rome... This may be the best animal exhibit outside of any major zoo. It's late, and I'm not feeling real creative. Translation= captions suffer. Sorry. Okay, even I have to laugh at their choice of sporting equipment to use for "The U." Basketball....what's that? Since Gwazi really doesn't deserve any photos here, Sheikra will substitute with a few more views of her awesomeness. Dale, you're dead to me after this season. I can't root for someone who sleeps with the enemy. The anteater demonstrates why he's the ladies man of the animal kingdom. The aforementioned birds. Oh, and us too. The rain passed, and it was time to head for the birds. Need a good place to hang out during a downpour? We suggest this. "Hi, I'm Mr. Zebra. Are you the Gwazi Lion?" "Why, yes I am." "Well, you really shouldn't go around admitting that anymore." "Thanks,I'm getting that impression." "Last month, the Hershey Wildcat emailed me and told me my parents must not love me anymore." "Yeah, around here, even the donkey gets treated better than you. haha." Or perhaps you favor the monkey humping a lollipop? It started raining a bit by the time we made it back by Sheikra. This meant it was time to duck into the candy store to kill some time. Here you can see a white tiger humping a lollipop. I guess they're going for the Nemesis look? She says we've gotta hold on to what we got It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not. We got each other- and that's a lot for love. We'll give it a shot...... (Take it!) With the storm approaching, it was time to get in a quick ride on what is still the best coaster in Florida.
moinab
Great report, as always! LOVE that last lemur photo, and the anteater made me lol!
TheRapidsNerd
I cracked up so many times at the captions. That's one really funny TR! If you folks are headed to Georgia next year and would like to meet up at SFoG or similar, give me a shout. It'd be worth the drive and time in my book. The Shiffon water spray is impressive to see and will drench you. 1 Griffon hosing > 5 trips on Roman Rapids. No kidding...and I got it on film (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH8Ht4lZQgE) Again, GREAT TR!
Homer
Aye, a great TR, Scott. Glad you lot had an awesome time at BGA. Glad to see some progress on Jungala after months of dirt, dirt, and dirt. It would have been funny in Lori Landing if one of the people in your group got crapped on by a bird, every time that I go in there, at least one person in my group gets crapped on. bgwfreak
So what's up with Gwazi? Last time I was there it was running great, but that was 2001. Is it just rough now?
alpengeist04
^I don't think it's too bad first thing in the morning. Actually I kinda like it, but it does start to get rough as the day goes on.
BeemerBoy
^^ Yeah, it's just become really rough, IMO. We both loved it during it's first couple years of operation, but I bet even the GCI guys have lost a little pride in it by now. With such a great layout, I'm sure some flyers and a little retracking could certainly help a bit. Just strange how Boomers (a few hours south), with not even anywhere near the operating budget of Busch, can maintain their woodie so much better. Oh well. LOVE that last lemur photo Yeah, that's my favorite too. Actually, I didn't even realize it until we were home sifting through the pics for the report, when Shannon pointed it out. Glad you guys enjoyed it.
Homer
Is it just rough now? Not just rough, just think of sitting on a jackhammer for 2 1/2 minutes with sluggish operations. I just hope that rumor of Millennium Flyers on Gwazi comes true.
bgwfreak
But if they don't retrack it, I don't think flyers will help that much, will they? p.s. Nice shades.
KrakenKing
Am I the only one who enjoys Gwazi? Of course... the only seat to sit in is the front... everywhere else sucks. And Tiger is getting retracked... once again...
Tömmioh
Great TR! Nice photos and lots of awesome captions and it was also cool to see some animals, like the turtle on the gator and the lemurs, enjoyable stuff !

ginzo
Not just rough, just think of sitting on a jackhammer for 2 1/2 minutes with sluggish operations. I just hope that rumor of Millennium Flyers on Gwazi comes true. I'm not so sure that converting is going to help that much. I rode the Hersheypark Wildcat back in July, and it was still a pretty darn uncomfortable ride. Granted it was in the 90s and super dry on that day, but Lightning Racer was running just fine.
