kraxleRIDAH Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 I think it's lame how Cedar Fair is recycling the Knott's Halloween Haunt name.
hemmy Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Most people in California will never know, so doesn't really matter. I might go to this event, I love Halloween events, is World's of Fun's any good?
Swoosh Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 Yes it is very good. The new haunt BloodShed is being constructed by an outside firm and is supposed to be very blood and gore. It is a permanent haunt structure so it should be pretty good. A lot of the other haunts there at WOF put the big boys down town to shame -- in fact I think they might be getting scared now as it is cheaper to go to WOF's event then it is to go through 2 mazes down town. Asylum Island was said to be the best of the Asylums in the chain last year (yes even better than SoCal's)
Swoosh Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 I think it's lame how Cedar Fair is recycling the Knott's Halloween Haunt name. Might as well get used to it as it appears it is going chain wide this year. Confirmed parks with HALLOWEEN HAUNT Knott's Scary Farm - Halloween Haunt Valleyscare - Halloween Haunt Worlds of Fun - Halloween Haunt Scarowinds - Halloween Haunt Parks still using something else thus far Kings Island - Fear Fest Kings Dominion - Fear Fest Cedar Point - Halloweekends Dorney Park - Halloweekends Great America - Nick or Treat (do they not have extreme haunts?) Parks without events Michigan's Adventure Geauga Lake Canada's Wonderland
ECZenith Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 That BloodShed sounds promising, can't wait to see this event covered.

NewsPlusNotes Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Actually Kings Dominion is switching to Halloween Haunt as well. http://www1.cedarfair.com/kingsdominion/events/events.cfm Mike
bigstevet07 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 So, I am guessing the Bloodshed house is going where the markers by the Forum are? So much for a lot of speculation that its a new coaster for next year.
coastrfreak2000 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Parks without events Michigan's Adventure Geauga Lake Canada's Wonderland Canada's Wonderland is doing an event this year and it is still called Fearfest.
Swoosh Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 ^I was just going off the calendar on their website which has the park closed in October.
coastrfreak2000 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 ^It's odd actually, I have a feeling there won't be an event, even though there is an entire page dedicated towards it in the park map.
Swoosh Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 UPDATE: KD has just announced that it will convert to Halloween Haunt as well Confirmed parks with HALLOWEEN HAUNT Knott's Scary Farm - Halloween Haunt Valleyscare - Halloween Haunt Worlds of Fun - Halloween Haunt Scarowinds - Halloween Haunt Kings Dominion - Halloween Haunt Parks still using something else as of 08/08/07 Kings Island - Fear Fest Cedar Point - Halloweekends Dorney Park - Halloweekends Parks without extreme haunt events Michigan's Adventure Geauga Lake Canada's Wonderland Great America
Vffreak07 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Valleyscare just announced Hellside Farms! That also sounds promising. I like the scary direction CF is going with for the halloween events.
CP_RULES Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Yes it is very good. Asylum Island was said to be the best of the Asylums in the chain last year (yes even better than SoCal's) I've never been to the haunt events at WOF (I was planning on it last year but it fell through), but I have been to The Edge of Hell haunted house in downtown KC and I have to admit it was pretty cool. Maybe Ill have to go to Halloween Haunt this year to compare.
Swoosh Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 I thought Edge of Hell was pretty weak last year, but I did enjoy the Beast, but that has always been my favorite downtown. I'm pretty excited about the new permanent haunt BloodShed at Worlds of Fun. It sounds like they are pulling out all the stops with this one.
steel Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 That looks interesting. I've never been to WoF's Halloween event. I want to make it this year, but the chances don't look to good right now. I'm a member of the Unofficial Lore of the Vampire Hate Group. Anyone else?
Jive Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I'm not a huge fan of Lore either. The hissing gets a little tiresome. It's like a haunted pissed off cat maze. Even though it's my least favorite I still go through it every time I'm out there.
Swoosh Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 I guess I have never been through Lore when the screamsters were "hissing". They never did that on the Saturday nights that I went through it, but that doesn't mean that didn't do it on nights when I wasn't there. Come to think of it Jive, there were some over in your old haunt that hissed, especially along the Green Mile... I thought that was random, but then again they're "loony" over there.
Jive Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 After about 10pm the voice is shot and I'm guessing that some just rely on hissing to make some type of noise. I kept a little green tea hidden back in the break room to help keep my voice working at it's best.
Swoosh Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 How are you going to do that this year since you haven't got your own private break room at the 'Shed?
