SharkTums
No, thanks for pointing it out, I'll let Robb know to tell them to pull it down. It's one thing to link to our videos, a whole other to host them and download them from someone else's site. Elissa "thanks again!" Alvey

TheStig
Just a question, what was the problem with that video? Did CP get pissed because of onride footage? If you don't care to explain, that's fine by me. I have the video and found it on Kazaa (which was odd) but thought it was weird you got so many onride shots. Like I said, if you don't want to talk about it it's no big deal. Colin C

coasters 4 me
Practically all the videos on that site are of this site. WTF?!? Did they get your permission Elissa/Rob? Seriously, that is not right, they should make their own videos and not steal from people. (They even have the things not to do on a coaster video!) DenDen
All they are doing is hot-linking the files from their web site on R&E's sites. There is a way to block this guys, especially if you're on a 'nix server. Hit me up!
DenDen
Also, the domain is not register to rules of ICAAN, (it's bogus) here's the info... Registrant: Ron Smith 55555 Smith Rd. Sterlin, Michigan 55555 United States Registered through: GoDaddy.com (http://www.godaddy.com) Domain Name: RCTDLOADS.COM Created on: 22-Sep-03 Expires on: 22-Sep-05 Last Updated on: 11-Oct-04 Administrative Contact: Smith, Ron brbsta@rct2unlimited.com 55555 Smith Rd. Sterlin, Michigan 55555 United States 5555555555 Technical Contact: Smith, Ron brbsta@rct2unlimited.com 55555 Smith Rd. Sterlin, Michigan 55555 United States 5555555555 You can report this, and they will lose the domain. Since it was registered at godaddy, you can report it there, and the process will be faster. CoasterFanatic
If they are hot-linking just do this RewriteEngine OnRewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://themeparkreview.com/ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.themeparkreview.com/ [NC] RewriteRule [^/]+.(zip)$ - [F] Save the file as ".htaccess" and put it in your video folder
DenDen
they need to do that for all their sites, themeparkreview isn't the only one being hotlinked. If all your domains are on the same host account, you can do all the blocking from a single htaccess. RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://themeparkreview.com/ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.themeparkreview.com/ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://elissaalvey.com/ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.elissaalvey.com/ [NC] RewriteRule [^/]+.(zip)$ - [F] Or, just block server access from anyone coming from those sites specifically, or refer them to a "the web site you came from STOLE our content" message, and force them to view theme park review's web pages. coaster1
New site to watch to make sure mine don't get stolen as well. Also a stats program which reads the HTTP logs would help on the hot-linking side, you can report them to their web host and demand payment for used bandwidth if it becomes a problem. Most web hosts have that in their AUP as a violation.
DenDen
they need to do that for all their sites Whoops. Forgot about all the domains. Good Call! Thanks. Another trick, forwarding viewers from an offending web site RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://www.RCTDLOADS.COM/ RewriteRule /* http://www.cybercrime.gov/compcrime.html [R,L] This would forward viewers to the federal investigation cybercrime unit website. A little scare tactic that I use for offending websites, and for people trying to snoop around. (I won't even get into my 401 and 500 server error tricks. ) I also have an extensive block-list from known fraud ip's and domains if you want it. thunder001
Just checked it out and it still has all the videos for download. This is not right and should be shut down as soon as possible.
Chris Benvenuto
I remember when this came out, I'm sure we all do, I checked the link too and they haven't done squat to take it down. This is wrong of them to do so, they should lose the domain if found guilty and it seems they are guilty.... anyway it's a great video, i still have mine from 2003! Great Dragster POV Robb! Homer
Uhh, I flamed the webmaster by calling him a plagarist and this is his response. Well THANK YOU, BUT I have permission from Rob to host and give links to all TPR videos INCLUDING the CEDAR POINT VIDEO, which i only avaiable here on Rct3Unlimited. If you have any questions about that, please ask him. And if you don't like Rct3Unlimited, please don't come back.
