verticalzero
I had a great day at Chessington, short Q lines for all the rides, even the Vampire, Dragon's Fury and Bubbleworks was a 45 min wait. The high-light of the day was a heated argument between a lady and 2 guys in the Q line for Dragon's Fury. I was 15 people behind and don't know why it started. The lady was saying "FU" to everyone who told her to stop shouting, even one of the guy's mum came over and told her off, this made her mad and said " White people are cu***" etc, she was white herself. Security arrived and she was asked to leave the park, when she passed she said " I want to stab someone". So out of order to say that. Must of been that time of the month for her. Enjoy the pic's: Ducks inside the Bubble Works View into the Bubble Works from the loading station Fully loaded train Drop after 2nd Lift Hill, has a good flick out. Testing of Vampire Last corner before the brakes. Some of Dragons Fury course Under the Immelmann Dragon's Fury from the Big Wheel Hocks Pocus Hall Nicely kept flowers n gardens Wave Swinger which shoots water to get the riders wet. Final Drop on Log Flume A relaxing Log Flume The Daddy "Sealion" was 27 years old which equals to 90 years in human terms. Bumper Cars, had a few head-on's Budda statue Everyone got soaked on this "Top Spin", the setting was lame and very short. Adelleywelley
Nice TR, looks like you had good weather too. Last time we went to Chessington there seemed to be a bad crowd too, lots of hoodies and chavs causing trouble, nice to see nothing's changed! Does the Bubble Works still have that lovely sickly orange smell? And whoah, what are they doing behind the Budda, wasn't there a plastic rock face there before? StealthFan
The rocks where removed because they became a safety risk. They were looking at the rocks with one of them heat thermal camera things and it showed high temperatures in certian areas which showed stress in the structure so they hade to be removed. And no bubbleworks does not have the smell anymore sadly.
Adelleywelley
Thanks for the info. Shame about the Bubble Works, I loved that smell!

Nemesis Inferno
W00t, I work there!!!! But it has changed overall, fewer hoodies/chavs/evil teens go there now, that's Thorpe's job... Unfortunately, we get the lovely parents who moan at the slightest issue... We need more UK TRs I feel, this is like the only Chessie one of the year, and there've been like 2 Thorpe ones, one by me! I did a small one back in October for Chessie... Not many places to get decent pics though... I did the second Thorpe one, mainly aimes at Stealth, Rush and Nemesis Inferno... Expect one from Alton Towers during august sometime...

That makes three Thorpe PTRs because I did one too! I'm going to Alton Towers probably around the end of October (hopefully anyway, I've dropped enough hints at the Mr for a birthday pressie!). Can't wait to try Air and Rita.

bovinejumpsuit
are they allowing groups of teenagers on Bubbleworks again? They should have never have got rid of the smell, that's what makes it what it is, well that and the theme tune. I'm most probably going to go to Thorpe and Chessington in one day to get off ride photos with my season pass, I never bother taking a camera when I go normally so it would be nice to get some shots. I haven't been to Chessington for a while is the Big Wheel the one from Thorpe and does it stand where Samarai used to be?
coasterdude5
Looks like a cool place. Is Vampire smoother with the newer trains?
verticalzero
Vampire is so "smooth" with the new trains, wish "lapbars" could be used instead of OHR.
IceDragon
Vampire is so "smooth" with the new trains, wish "lapbars" could be used instead of OHR. Please say you are joking... I came off with a split ear... It's probably worse than what Vekoma can pull together... The swings at parts make the ride pump, and at one point it always feels like its about to fall apart... My feet also hit trees as you go over and passed them. Ice 'bring back the old cars!' Dragon
EmBy
Nice Tr. Great photos, Chessington looks lovely especially Dragons Fury, have to try and make a visit to this park sometime. Any photos of the argument, would love to see that woman getting carried away shouting. What an idiot losing it in theme park.
CCJared
Well the Vampire is not the Smoothest coaster on the Planet, and is well far from it, but its not the Roughest Either. It Swings a bit stupidly, like the Vekoma trains are too Restricted for the Ride. They Should Make the Trains less restricting, that was all the Roughness gained by the Poor Swinging will be solved. bgwfreak
Nice TR! The park looks really nice, like Busch Gardens Europe's cousin or something. Just minus 3 B&Ms. I want to get to the UK one of these years.
verticalzero
I did not take any pic's (Should of video'd the argument instead) of the women and 2 guys have a big "ding dong" in the Q line, I would of got decked if she saw me, she was that en-raged. The train (all 3 running) which I rode on the "Vampire" was smooth-ish, no bumps or bangs along the course. Your be more free to put your arms up if they used "Lapbars" / "Buttons" and not OHR. Vekoma should do a couple of test seats, I'll be happy to be a tester for a day.

Trust me, you'll love Air and Rita, on Air, hope that you get stuck in 'doggy' position like IceDragon and I (got a free Xtreme pass of the whole family) and on Rita, just sit back, the launch is awesome... Anyway back to Chessington, I like the park; it's just that when I always go dragon's fury is always closed, but because we leave early to beat the traffic on the motorway; every time we leave it opens up! bovinejumpsuit
It's definatly the beginners park of the two London Parks but it's still a great place. Themed to the max and spread out nicely. I think it was a shame that Tussaurds felt Thorpe Park should be themore 'extreme' park considering the space problems it has being an 'island' type thing when it looks like Chessington has much more in that area. I can see why they did though, The already had the zoo and there must be Height restrictions. Perhaps the Ropers have a summer home in Surrey?
