OldJJman
As you saw in the pics, about 11:00am, it started pouring, along with the thunder and lightning. We were in line for our second ride, about 5 trains away. Oh well. We waited as long as we could and then had to leave for Columbus. Because of the rain, everything in the park was shut down, except for the antique autos, and the Enterprise. Go figure. Maverick is a GREAT ride. Unfortunately, we only got one ride before leaving. I loved the quick lift, and the first drop, though (I can only imagine) in the back, it must be awesome. Great pacing. The airtime hill is severe ejector in the front. The transitions are quick and smooth. The tunnel launch is really good. Really my kind of ride. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A solid top tier ride in my book. I’d give it an “A-“, and I couldn’t really tell you why. But, I did enjoy it a lot. So 1029 miles later, I come to the end of a great trip. Eleven parks, with eleven new credits for me. All in 2-1/2 days. The weather played a great factor in the weekend. I missed out on a couple parks and credits, not a big deal. It was fun, and I had a great time. Only one last thing: INDIANA SUCKS!!
viking86
The picture of the first drop on MF followed by a picture of the first drop on Maverick was kinda funny. It makes Maverick look like a scale-model of a coaster!
Erik Johnson
^That's really encouraging to hear Jeff. I love Hades, but worried about how it would hold up, and after hearing horror stories about last year well...let's hope it's awesome in August! We rode both Hades and Avalanche last August. The only rough part of Hades was the section/helix right by the loading station near the end of the ride. Avalanche was impressive.

coastercrazed49
Great Trip Report! To bad the weather was't the greatest. I would love to go to some of those parks, but they are just to far away.
jamesdillaman
Jeff, I didn't know you were friends with Sean. My brother and I ran into him at King's Island one day, and that was when we joined ACE and really got into coasters.
IwantRevenge
If rumors are true, will TTD be the tallest coaster in the world again in 2008?? i'm curious to know where this came from. It's not a bad thing I hate KingDa Ka but where did you get this?

niiicolaaah
Nice photos, Jeff. I particularly liked the ones of Maverick's Stengel dive; I didn't even realize it existed.
OldJJman
"Those was jokes." Not exactly true. Let's just say that if it does come to pass, you heard it here first. And no. I can't reveal sources. Sorry.

If they do remove Ka, that would make for possibly the biggest failed coaster project ever. It's not every day that you see a record holder ripped out like that. Cameron
Hey Jeff, Awesome trip report, thanks for sharing. I can't believe how much you did in such a short time, but it looks like you had loads of fun. Pity about Indiana, the thing is that no-one has ever been able to give a reliable answer as to why the time zones are so screwed up there .. The whole state should just be central or eastern. Cameron.
