Masked_Maverick Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 About a week ago I went to Geuaga Lake to see the new improvments and ride some rides. It was hot as crap but overall a pretty fun day. Silly me however forgot my bathing suit so I didn't do Wildwater Kingdom. Head Spin from my car. Hope everyone enjoyed my Photo TR. Me again hot, tired and sick but believe it or not I did have a good time. Obligatory Cedar Fair themeing shot. Villain on my way out. Look close to see an oddity at a Cedar Fair park. Trees. Thunderhawk does have kind of a nice sign. Hehehe Your Face. 90 degrees+15 min. of DDR+ one fat guy= Me almost dead. What park Photo TR would be complete without a DDR shot? I tried the 3 point game and of course I sucked at it. The big prizes (I kid you not) a 42 inch plasma HD TV or a PS3. Hey Derek whats up? Train Even though I hate this ride Thunderhawk is somewhat photogenic. This is what you see right when you walk into the park? Notice how busy it is? Anyway I do hope attendance picks up for this park because I do sincerely love this park. The enterance as it stands today. Head Spin through Big Dipper. I love this shot. In case you didn't know they removed some stuff this year. My first major Coaster and still one of my favorites.Big Dipper. Under the second hill as seen here used to be the original enterance to Geauga Lake. For my fellow Vekoma lovers Head Spin's sign. As generic as they are I still love Boomerangs. Oh crap where did I put X-Flight? Oh Mr. Kinzel is gonna be sooo mad. I highly approve. Raging Wolf Bobs. Don't know why I like this little turn right before the station. Does this count as credit whoring? Beaver Land mine Ride woot Anyone wanna Cornhole? hehehe...*ahem* I didn't get a chance to play this game maybe next time. While it was a lot more enjoyable this season. I still think it could of been a lot better although the removal of the trick-track did do this ride well. Well??? Heard this ride got a bit of retracking is it any more rideable this season?

mcjaco Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Seriously guys, X-Flight/Firehawk is nothing to write home about, let alone taunt people about. GL is a nice little park. I'm not sure I'd visit now that Steel Venom is gone. Although Dominator and Big Dipper are personal favorites. Villian just stinks, such a shame since it got rave reviews when it opened....

FeelTheFORCE Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Yeah, it was like above the jerseys and to the left a little, they had a Wii box attached to the fence with a sign next to it that said, "Jumbo Prize" or whatever the highest one was. I like how each game is themed to the area. The Demon Drop one looks completely different from the FT one.

It had a suprising punch to it, It totally took me by surprise, but why r they removing rides from this already small park? That flying coaster was horrible and why would they want to move it to kings island. Are they too cheap to buy a new coaster? Trust me Cedar Fair is gonna neglect those parks just like the others because Cedar Point gets all the attention.

Ugh. A lot of people will disagree with you on that, me included. The Villain is terrible. MAYBE with different trains it could climb the ladder to be just an average wooden coaster. That flying coaster was horrible and why would they want to move it to kings island. Are they too cheap to buy a new coaster? Because Geauga Lake's attendance figures did not justify so many roller coasters, especially one that demands constant maintenance and attention. So no, Cedar Fair is not "too cheap" to buy a new roller coaster. Trust me Cedar Fair is gonna neglect those parks just like the others because Cedar Point gets all the attention. Neglect? Worlds of Fun got Patriot last year. Valleyfair! got Renegade this year. Knott's got Sierra Sidewinder this year. Michigans Adventure got Canyon Rapids last year. How is that neglect?

I agree with everything else, CF isn't "neglecting" anything and X-Flight moving was a business decision that had primarily to do with attendance, not because they are "too cheap".

The attendance really wont go up now that they are removing rides. Cedar Fair would never spend money on a 21 million dollar coaster for their other parks. The rides that were named that the other parks got arent that great where you have to run to them. They are mediocure rides that were placed just to pacify the people at that particular park. The same with SF. Magic Mountain and Great Adventure get most of the sho nuff rides while the other sf parks get baby rides. Now before someone writes me back naming ONE ride that they might consider big, no other Cedar Fair Park has a millenium force or top thrill and no other SF park has an X, Tatsu or a Kingda Ka or El Toro

While Six Flags when they bought the park built it up way too fast and tried to turn it from a 700,000+ a year park to a 3 million visitor a year park it wasn't going to happen. Geauga Lake has always been and will always be just a regional attraction. Not like Cedar Point or Magic Mountain or Great Adventure. The problem is that Six Flags way over built that park. As much as I love Coasters 5 in two years is to freaking much.
