Reon
My trip was short and sweet...well, until the lines got long anyways. I started out my trip of many new firsts with a whiz on the Whizzer. A unique ride to be sure, but also really fun. I especially loved the ground hugging turns where I attempted to grab trees and such. My only grudge was that they were only running 1 train. I give it a 7.5/10 overall. Next up I went on over to Demon. I loved the ride, though I'm partial to this type of looper (Keep in mind that Vortex is one of my fave steels). The layout was simple, but all the tunnels REALLY added to the experience, as did the walk on to the back row. This ride gets a solid 7/10, since its good but old, and the ride is a bit too short. Taking a break from coasting, I Hit a few flats in Southwestern Territory: Whiplash, the swinging ship, and Giant Drop. None of them were anything special (Giant drop is my least favorite type of tower ride..), though I give a thumbs up to theming. (Yes, I am congratulating 6F for theming rides ) While I was in the area, I went to Viper. It was my first CyCLONE (granted that it was the modified one), and I loved it! The first half was a bit bland, but after that double dip it was nothing but sweet airtime. Once again, Kudos to SFGAm for the theming and wait time (Sign said 60, I was on and off in 30.) Solid 8/10 for this baby, though it was no where as good as some of my favorite woodies... Next on my list was one of the main reasons I wanted to come to this park for ages: Raging Bull. It would be my first B&M Hyper, and it was better then I imagined. Solid 9/10, this thing may just make it to my top 5... Continuing my credit quest, I made my way over to the Racing coaster with the excessively long line, aka American Eagle. Once I got past that big blue ramp, the ride was alright for a racer, though it's strongly favored for red to win. 6.5/10, for the red side, and 5/10 for blue. Once more I took a break from coasting, and decided to get some food. I looked around for ages, but everything was too expensive, so I just went on to Revolution. Nice frisbee, but I think I like Delerium-style ones better. I have to admit that the reverse spin was insane though! After that, I gave up on food and got some Italian Ice, then ate it as I strolled through the other half of the park, making my way over to Rajin Cajun. This is where the day got bad. With 2.5 hours left on the clock, I was only able to hit 2 rides. Cajun had an INSANE 45 minute wait on it. Though it was interesting (my first spinning mouse) it wasn't worth the wait. 7.5/10 for it though. Finally, I hit S:UF. I thought that my first flyer would be a Vekoma, since FireHawk is in my homepark. Oh well, B&M will do I guess. As for the ride, NOT WORTH IT! The only good part was the pretzel loop, and the wait was 90 minutes, even though the sign said it would only be 60. 3/10 for it, I really hope that I like the Vekoma models better.... Anyways, I give the park an overall 6.5/10. Great mix of coasters, and good theming. My qualm for the place is water fountain/shade management, a problem that I also saw at SFKK a few years ago. Also, $15 parking was just wrong But enough of my rantings, heres the part you came for: photos. Hi! We're cooler looking Super-characters who don't get our own rides. Screw Catwoman, SHES hawt... 80 was a complete failure in my eyes. I'd rather whore another kiddie than ride these guys... Number 79. If you look close enough, you can see a car in it. I wasnt THAT concerned about missing this one, since I hit Wicked Twister before. More reason for me to come back to the park though.. Wii section FTW! This is the only picture of Wiggles World you get. Enjoy #77, 78. Pity that lucky number 77 wasn't something cooler, though that one WAS my red side credit. Hi! I take you through a ten minute blue ramp of doom! Raging Bull is suprisingly photogenic and fun One of my favorite shots that day. #76 Insane backseat airtime, go! Mmmm, snake venom Number 75! This is a milestone somehow... I was a bit sad that I didnt get my first Vu credit today... Hi, Derek! Credit 74... This thing is selectively photogenic Credit 73 Entrance really looks nice. Note the crowd in the background...Morning rushes are fun. My pimped out ride for the day
RRollergod
Nice TR. I was there on the 19th also and had a lot of fun. Have you noticed the incredible force the trims put on the train on Ragin' Bull?
Reon
Yup, though I was paying more attention to the airtime that followed
DarkMeasures
Am I the only person who likes American Eagle? I guess it would be more popular if the trains did not suck.
USRoadTripper
^ Definitely not! I LOVED American Eagle! It shares a lot of great qualities with Great American Scream Machine in Georgia, which is my favorite woodie. Granted, the huge helix in the middle could stand to be spiced up, but overall, I really, really enjoyed it. -Julie
CoasterNut17
What seats were you sitting in on American Eagle and S:UF? I went there a week ago, and they were both giving incredible back seat rides. S:UF pulls WAY more G's in the pretzel loop that way. I'd say it pulls at least 4.5 at some points. Anyway, Great TR! Too bad you missed Vu... WildStangAlex
I Love American Eagle- especially Red. I was there on the 18th. We got on a lot, however since most children are still in school, the lines were lengthy for the "older crowd attractions" aka- Roller Coasters. However, we still had a blast. I returned on the 20th. It was cold, therefore the park was dead. We started with Viper, then the Bull, then Giant Drop, American Eagle and Iron Wolf. Only an hour had elapsed. In the afternoon there was a 90 minute storm that drove most people out of the park. When the rides resumed operation, we were in business. Overall we rode the following attractions on the 20th alone: Coasters: Whizzer Viper- 3 times back row, 1 time front row Raging Bull, 3 times back row, 3 times other various rows American Eagle Red- 2 times back row, 1 time front row Iron Wolf- 1 time back row V2- 1 time middle, 1 time front row Batman TR: 2 times front row Superman UF, 1 time back row Ragin Cajun', 1 time Flats: hometown fun machine, river rocker, giant drop, cars, revolution, fiddler's fling, chubasco. What a perfect day to go!
Guest
One of Whizzers trains went "Ka-boom" the night before and they stayed got it fixed right away and was back on a few hours after park opening Saturday. The third train is almost ready also, so it should be running 3 this weekend. Crowds really shouldnt come as a surprise, it was an 80 degree sunny Saturday. And the Ragin Cajun crew is really good, the line doesnt move so fast 1: because its a mouse, and 2: it only allows a max of 3 riders taller than 54" per car (no more 4 adults per car). I made my way over to the Racing coaster with the excessively long line, aka American Eagle. Once I got past that big blue ramp You do realize they had to re-build the queue path around the new kiddie area? .
WildStangAlex
^ Haha. That's why I went on the 40 degree rainy day.
Reon
^^Yeah. I was making fun of that part. I'm not saying that I hated Eagle. Just that the Red side was far superior to the blue. As for seating, back car for red, front seat for blue, and 3rd row on S:UF. Dont get me wrong, I loved the park. I just left on a really sour note after a disapointing lap on S:UF and an overly long line for the wild mouse. I would have loved to stay the 2 hours I had origionally planned to hit Wolf, Batman, and maybe some flats if I had the time...
raptor6
Raging Bull is one of the best coasters that I have ever ridden.
Cameron
Nice photos! How come they look like they were taken in the 40s?! (Not a criticism, just curious..) And I adore Eagle, particularly the red side. Also nice to see some Viper love - that thing can deliver really great rides when it wants too. Thanks for sharing the photos and report! Cameron. PS: I agree that Superman Ultimate Flight is totally bland. Although I felt the same way about Air and the Vekoma Flyers..
Reon
For the white on the outside, I dont know. I scanned them in and the borders were cut right at the edge of the photo. As for quality, I was forced to use a disposible camera, as I still need to buy a digital (any suggestions on good/not so expensive ones are accepted)
WildStangAlex
^ I really like the quality and ease of use of Canon Digital Cameras. One that would be perfect for Photo TR's would be the Canon SD1000. It is an ELPH, so it is super slim and can fit in Jean pockets, and it is 7.1 MP. At only $250, I think it's a great value as well.
pvcoasterguy
Count me in as a total American Eagle lover. It's seriously a very fun, enjoyable ride. I love the retro station and feel of the entire ride. I've found that I enjoy rides on the red side in the front the most... it can be a very fun, airtime-filled ride up there. Also, when I went last year, the big helix was kicking some ass--you could feel a lot of forces towards the bottom of it. Also, it has one of the best first drops ever. hemmy
Deja Vu closed? How can this be!
Reon
Well, to be fair the helix was FULLY braked. Very slow at the top, and slowed again at the bottom. Personally I didnt like the first drop, but thats just a matter of oppinions. Thanks for that camera comment, I'll keep that in mind. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Guest
Every single ride in the park is now open running full capacity except Demon which is still running 2 trains (the third is still being worked on and should be on sometime this summer). Eagles running 4, Raging Bull and Whizzer running 3, Giant Drop 6 cars, Ragin Cajun 5 cars, and everything else 2.
