PKI Jizzman
I'll be going a week from today, what ride should I go to first? Should I get SoB or Firehawk out of the way first? Do they both usually open with the park? How should the crowds be on a Friday? It's supposed to be cloudy and possibly rain a little, so hopefully they won't be that bad. Thanks. Firehawk, once you get that out of the way by 10:30, everything else will have no wait (cept FoF). I'd recommend hitting SoB and Face/Off because of low capacity. Get Firehawk, F/O, SoB, and IJST out of the way so you dont have to deal with long lines. Yea, Firehawk opens with the park, aswell as SoB. Friday is okay. I heard FoF had 20 min wait when it was sunny but sometimes there are little groups of people here from schools or organizations. You are trusting a forecast for next friday?!!?!?! LMAO! RapidsDude: I still really love WWC, I just think it's too short. You still get wet to DRENCHED! everytime!
PKI Jizzman
Hey guys! Just a little Drop Zone update along with some pictures I have been meaning to take for a while. I can NOT wait for Cedar Point Friday and Saturday.....enjoy! Oh yea, the ops are still advertizing Drop Zone as the Tallest and Fastest Gyro Drop. I didn't think it was....maybe in America, though. Drop Zone open + no lines = Happy riders! It's airtime on a stick! It may not look that high up...but when you get up there....you are UP THERE! You can have a good ride or BAD ride on the Forewards racer, but there is always good airtime...it just can be rough!...but Backwards is always good with some floater air. Time for some randomness! We're some random dudes on donkeys...GIMME SOME CANDY OR MY MIDGET FRIEND WILL SPEAR YOU! It's August already? One of many pretty spots in KI. Oh boy....I can see many TPR jokes and sillyness to come here..... And the constuction on the new FearFest attraction behind Skyflier is well away! Also, things are being prepared for all the other houses and attractions/Fear Zones.....this will be one hell of an October! ---Zach
PKI Jizzman
And just one more update from the Associate party last night: Flight of Fear now has the On-Ride videos up and running! I got to ride with the lights on, a unique experiance. About 12 rides on Firehawk and.....wayyyy too many on Vortex. I'm on my way to Cedar Point! Reon
I stopped by today after work to FINALLY get my 'new' SoB credit. IMO, NEVER. RIDE. SON. OF BEAST. The retrack did nothing on my rides, and the rose bowl actually seemed ROUGHER. Rough enough to make me feel like I was breaking my back for the rest of the ride In other news, my newfound love for X-Base continues to rise. Firehawk is still my fave Vekoma, and I made a documentary on Outer Limits. It was way too hot out though, so I only got 2 rides on Vortex today
FeelTheFORCE
Rode Son of Beast on Friday. No lie, it was the smoothest woodie I have ever been on. I rode in the front seat of the blue train. It was closed half the day, though, stuck on the lift. It didn't open until around 2:00 (give or take a few hours, don't know when exactly). The video was not working on Flight of Fear, either. It was not crowded at all on Friday. Everything was a walk-on and the ops were great, loaded and checked trains very quickly on every ride, and were very enthusiastic about everything. There was one thing, though. On FoF, when they were waiting for a train to come around to the loading part, the two ops that checked lap bars played rock paper scissors, but they didn't when the train came around and were very quick in checking the restraints, so it's nothing to complain about. The racer raced sometimes, not every time, though. I rode forwards first and I raced, when I rode backwards, later in the day, my train was dispatched about 10 seconds before the forward. What I don't like though, was that we were both clear to go, but didn't race. All in all, it's a great park with great staff and rides. The Beast at night was just the most awesome coaster experience ever, nothing tops that, in my opinion. I will definitely try to get back there next year. scruffy
FeelTheFORCE when you rode the Beast on Friday did you also have the lights on in the last two tunnels? I have some pictures I post later on.
FeelTheFORCE
Yes, those lights were on.
PKI Jizzman
Yeah, the lights should always be on in the tunnels. Glad to hear you had some awesome rides!
FeelTheFORCE
Only the last two tunnels on the helix, or all of them? They weren't on in the first drop tunnel, although that's pretty short, so I could see that, and they also weren't on in the one after the first drop...2:04 in this video. It would be cool to ride it with every single light off, including the lift hill lights.
socalMAN123
It seems like SOB continues to give hit-or-miss rides. One post says it sucks, the post below it says it is awesome. Hopefully, (if I can get there) SOB will be smooth for me next summer. ---Brent

FeelTheFORCE
Yeah. I rode it just before closing at around 9:50. I was the last train before they paused operations for the fireworks.
PKI Jizzman
They paused the operations for fireworks? I hadn't seen them do that before. Once the fireworks go, it's the last train out.
FeelTheFORCE
Yeah, they made about 3 or 4 announcements starting about 20 minutes before the fireworks started that they would pause operations and continue right as the fireworks finished. I was going to wait for the front seat, but it was about a 6 train wait, I knew I wouldn't make it, and didn't want to wait through the fireworks, so I just went to a different seat and got right on. There was a good amount of people in the station, around a 3 train wait for every seat, not including the front or back. The ops kept insisting that everyone would get on, some people would just have to wait a little bit, that's all.
PKI Jizzman
Once you are in the station, you aren't going to be told to leave. They have to get everyone through because the line will close at about 9:50-10PM
PKI Jizzman
Bad news: Drop Zone is experiencing problems and has a slim chance of opening for tomorrow and maybe Tuesday, especially with limited operations. Yesterday, it stopped in the purple section for about ten minutes before being dropped, then the thing that carries it up to the top stopped.......later went up, then down. I wasled by about an hour later and the car was about 15ft off the ground just hanging there. Later that day, the car was stopped about 20ft from the top, no one on the ride. And finally, the thing that carries it to the top remains stuck at in the yellow section. Oh yeah, TR:TR is still closed. ......anyone care? FearFest prep is starting....... -J "Drop Zone is broken....why go to KI?" Z

They have to get everyone through because the line will close at about 9:50-10PM I know that. I was saying that the people I was with wanted to watch the fireworks from a specific area of the park, and if I waited for the front row, we wouldn't make it and have to watch them from Beast's station. PKI Jizzman
Okay, so Drop Zone is REALLY messed up. The car carrier is near the top.....but two of the cables are twisted out in a big curve. I will get pics up soon. I HIGHLY doubt it will be open within a week. scruffy
Drop Zone and Tomb Raider are both closed down. While I was looking in the gift shop I saw a lot of Tomb Raider items on sale for 60% off. Wonder if Tomb Raider will get rethemed for next year? I don't see any work going on for next year around the park.
disneygurlz2s
Zach, I knew I could count on you to give us the 411.... Sammi and I were at the exit ramp off 71 Saturday about 2:30 and we saw it stuck at the red/yellow line and we were flipping out (clearly from that distance you cannot tell if there is anyone onboard). Slowly it began to descend, and I told her that it was probably an e-stop for some reason (I make this stuff up as a I go). Does communications still signal a ride down as 2-9 and if there are passengers aboard do they still call it "2-9 With"?? Shari
PKI Jizzman
^I am not sure about what the call it....but Drop Zone had been down the past two days. I left the park at about 1ish and headed over to the Beach (TR to come later) And I still couldn't see any progress from the slides. But there was no one aboard. But seeing DZ like this was VERY eerie. Scruffy - All Paramount things are 60% off, but I still think there is a chance. TR:TR has been down about a month or so...and I haven't seen any progress; but hey, it's an indoor ride. -J "Pics will be up soon, I promise!" PKI Jizzman
Drop Zone pics! Seeing it like this was really creepy. The cables weren't swaying in the wind like they were loose or something...they weren't moving at all. Over at The Beach Waterpark, new slide pieces arrived for 2008! Looks like an enclosed raft slide. -J "I want my Drop Zone back! Z"

kewlcoasterdude
We should all thank Cedar Fair operations. It wouldn,t have been fixed that quick if it was at a Six Flags or Paramount park.
PKIDelirium
Those slide pieces are from the two-slide complex they bought from Wyandot Lake for $500 at the auction last November. http://www.donaldflint.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=
