georgeriley15 Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Was the date typo on the "Bash" event badge necklace intentional?
jerryd Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Being I designed and printed them... The WCB4 badge was redesigned from a older one and the date was changed however it appears that I looked at the wrong month on the calendar. So no it was not intentional, and a big ooops I need to fire the 3 proof readers that looked at the design long before the event! Jerry

Its hanging on the wall next to me. They were very snazzy looking! Great job. -Ryan
vjgx Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Yeah, I noticed that less than 30 seconds after I got mine... Still, they're great. Mine's hanging on my closet's doorknob, along with two of my previous Comic-Con badges.
cfc Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Speaking as someone who makes his living editing and proofreading, when you do it right, nobody notices, but when you do it wrong, nobody forgets. We all make mistakes--you have to a sense of humor (and a fairly thick skin) in this line of work.
BarryH Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 ^^The error was something you would not "nunderstand."
DerekRx Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Apparently this year ACE screwed up the name badge date for the Eastcoaster event, and enough ACErs were that bent out of shape about it that the guy who printed off all the name badges agreed to send out ones with the correct date if people wanted them.
cgodsey Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Yeah, I figured out they had the incorrect date when I packed them for the trip. Since it was so late when I caught it, I decided to see how many people would catch it and roll with it. Out of the 240+ people in attendance, only a few pointed it out. Jerry does a great favor to us by printing these for cost and he also prints our super awesome RideWorld member cards. We are the only club that has credit-card style plastic cards (ACE uses that flimsy plastic crap). So in retrospect, I was one of the proofreaders and I should have caught it before production. But, I had so many other things on my mind regarding the event, Robb and Elissa's birth, our own pregnancy, and other problems of the world it slipped through. I would say I am sorry, but honestly, I am not. Its a trivial thing compared to not having the event at all! Chris
GMAN962 Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Yup, I noticed. I don't mind, though. I'm just glad I got to go! I noticed it almost immediately, but I don't mind! I'm looking at it right now, as I type this sentence. -Mike
