TyRush
Here's to hoping the Caps actually come out and play a game tonight, instead of sleeping until they're forced to care once the Rangers start scoring. So true! They look like dog sh*t until the Rangers score, then they turn it on! Im hoping ward scores the GW tonight. Guy busted his a$$ the entire series. Also would be nice for Tom to get his first as well
imawesome1124
^ Tom hasn't played much which is surprising. When he's been on the ice he busts his @$$. I would love to see him get the game-winner tonight. Â Somewhat related, did you hear about the random Caps fan that bought Tom's father a customized jersey with his name and number on it? Here's the article to show off the true Caps fan hospitality. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/dc-sports-bog/wp/2013/05/12/tom-wilsons-dad-enjoys-hospitality-from-caps-fans/
coasterfreak101
Yeah, I'm hoping for some good stuff from Ward (he's been playing better than Ovi since Game 2 ended, honestly). Would definitely be great to see Wilson get one in the net, he's been playing great for just hitting the NHL ice a few days ago and definitely deserves it! TyRush
Yeaom has played well, i can see the reasoning behind not letting him play as much. A young kid like that has the adrenaline in the begining but is afraid to make mistakes when the game is on the line. I know that first hand with my high level of hockey. Â So i would expect him to get good time early tonight, but once the game gets down to the wire, expect him to warm the pine.
Jew
I am very disappointed iamawesome hasn't blown up this thread yet.... Â What a game 7 for Boston!
TyRush
^I will start it for him.... WHAT A PISS POOR EFFORT! Why even show up after it was 2-0. They quit. Boston was down 4-1 and won. Thats a team that never quits, but we quit.
chemical_echo
This just in; flash sale at all Toronto area Golf Town stores.  Thank you Boston for making Toronto liveable again! And thank you to every Leaf fan on my Facebook feed for jinxing the game and saying things like "Off to Round 2", "Bring on the Rangers",etc etc   Game 1 for the Sens tonight and Spezza's been practising with the team. Here's hoping he's back for this series.
beatle11
Yeah Yeah whatever, lol. Can't believe the Leafs let that one slip away, but they still forced game 7 and lost 2 overtime games, which is way better than anyone expected. In the long run, I think this experience will help them more than if they had won. Boston lost a 7 game series 3 years ago to the Flyers after being up 3-0. Next year, they won the cup with basically the same group. The Leafs need some more work, but they will be back.
chemical_echo
As much as I hate to say it, the Leafs did do a lot better than I expected (I guessed Bruins in no more than 5). Hell, I thought they'd make it a good decade of no playoff hockey in Toronto.
imawesome1124
I'm obviously furious and depressed, but I'm surprised we even made the playoffs after what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. Still, once you get into the playoffs, the team has to show up and they didn't. They didn't want it, they blew a 2 game lead in the series. Now I see why the Caps have been the laughing stock for so long, in their history they've only showed up in the post season once, but got swept in the SCF where it really mattered. beatle11
That .gif a couple pages back is a prime example of Ovechkin not giving a crap. When he wants to be, his is arguably the best player in the world. Ron Wilson's time with the Leafs obviously didn't go so well, but one thing he did do is instill good habits into Phil Kessel. Someone needs to do that with Ovechkin.
Philrad71
Tough loss for the Leafs fan, but being a Buffalo fan, I certainly can relate to finding horrible ways to lose big games!
Sir Clinksalot
[youtu_be] [/youtu_be]Â One of the most amazing sports moments I've ever seen in person. Sure the delay of game was somewhat questionable, but the Kings got some VERY questionable calls as well. They happen every game. Not the Kings fault the Sharks didn't capitalize on them. TyRush
I hope they change the rule about flipping the puck out of play. I think it should only be that the facoff is in your end and you can't change like an icing. Too many games are lost or changed because of a penalty of this. Usually it is flipped out when the players are tired and dont think, so why just have the faceoff in their end and dont let them change.
Sir Clinksalot
^ Agreed, I'd imagine that's a rule that will be looked at. But as of right now it's a rule. From what I've heard about why it's a penalty instead of something similar to Icing is because of safety of the crowd. If it's not that harsh of a call then it's something that will probably happen more as strategy instead of icing since it's probably easier to flip it over the glass in the defensive zone than to clear it sometimes. Â We were all anticipating that if they didn't score the first goal that quickly that they'd pull Quick and go to a 6-3 advantage but once they tied it there was no need to pull Quick. Â The tying goal with the 5-3 advantage wasn't as clean as the winning goal with a 4-3 advantage.
Jew
The loophole for that is that you can flip the puck towards the benches. It's only a penalty when it clears the glass.

Jew
The thing is, lazy defensemen absolutely abused it prior to the lockout. Icing at least requires some skill to find a way to get it out of the zone. Flipping the puck out of play is the easy way out.

imawesome1124
I wonder if iamawesome still thinks Sidney Crosby is over rated? I think he's a punk and one of the most hateable players in the NHL, but at this point I will admit he's better than Ovechkin. I hate him almost as much as I hate Cooke or Torres, but I do acknowledge his skill.
TyRush
I hate Crybaby as a person but he is a good SKILLED player.
Sir Clinksalot
Crosby get's a lot of crap for being a wussy (which I don't necessarily think is true), but the guy is awesome and I don't think there is any team in the NHL that wouldn't love to have him on their team.
