A new indoor waterpark is being built on Chester road in Tri County, Cincinnati Ohio. The constriction has been going on for a few months now, clearing stuff out. I can't find a press release or anything, but there is a sign out infront of the construction and a new billboard on the highway. Here are some pics by me, anyways!

Oh wait....here is the website

Looks like Castaway Bay is going to have some competition.

Are you thinking of the new Great Wolf Lodge @ Cincinnati? Castaway Bay is 3 1/2 - 4 hours away in Sandusky. Looks pretty cool, but I don't think GWL has much to worry about.

If it's anything like the CoCo Key at Newark, Ohio, (which my guess is that it will since their both part of the same chain), then it will really cater to the toddler/older children set. No water coasters, royal flushes, or huge thrill slides. But still, I'm glad their coming!

Actually, I was thinking Cincinatti was Cleveland which is a lot closer to Sandusky.... right?

I always get Ohio and all of those "Cs" mixed up.

There are like 13 or so indoor water parks in Ohio alone. There flooding the market with them. Someone is going to be losing some money.

^^ I agree with Wally.... at the price these places charge for a night, it is not necessarily something I can see too many people doing too often, plus to me, it's not the kind of a situation where the average family would build a stay into a place like that enroute to their vacation (ie family from Michigan stopping there for the night enroute to WDW kinda thing). These places charge easily $180-$350 a night for family of 4-6. I have not heard much about how Great Wolf is doing, although since we live right here in the community I have heard buzz while sitting in the movie theater, daughter's dance class, etc, that many here in the upper-middle class Mason area have been doing overnights there.

That said, I am glad to see a revitalization of Chester Road as that was one Cincinnati's entertainment and lodging "strip" and it has gone seriously downhill over the past 5-10 years.

The video didn't show that many attractions. It looked like all they had was 4 regular slides, the play structure with a few smaller slides, a lazy river and a pool area. I'm sure it will be popular but it looks like they could use some more slides.

Cincinnati is southwest Ohio. Near PKI. CP is 4 hours away.

Yea, I think the place looks awesome. There was just some bankrupt fish restaraunt taking up space.
