Update

Year 17

Well, another year has come and gone - and no new attraction! However, the park has revealed that Year 18 will be a huge one, with the announcement of their largest ride coming soon. Some say it will be the tallest of its kind.

In other new, Kaena Point Falls is doing alright.

This is still my favorite shot in the whole park, not sure why.

It's great to see all the supports properly connected.

I can tell it's going to be a slow year...

Here's a unique shot.

Sulfur's starting to get a little rough, it is going on 10 years, though... Hard to believe.

Roaring into the brake run.

You get a great shot of Sulfur as you're leaving the park.

You can also see the backside of Phoenix.

Kaena Point Falls can also be seen.

Great shot to close this update...

Next Update: I've got some cool before and after shots!

Update

Year 17

The park is evil... They've released a few "clues" as to what the massive installation next season will be.

The announcement will be this Friday.

Friday, May 4th, 2007 - The Biggest __o___e__ c_____r in the world is Revealed.

Fill in the blanks.

Green has no limit.

I have no idea.

The area highlighted is the area I think that they have to work with. I mean, where else would a massive coaster (or, "attraction") go?

But hey, if it's just a drop tower, it could go in a smaller location like this. This plot of land has been sitting here for years nearly untouched.

But if it goes behind the gift shop, will the building have to be demolished? Too many unknowns for this addition, I guess we'll have to wait until Friday

More soon.

Update

Year 18 Announcement

ORONGA

The largest. The tallest. The fastest. Oronga.

Next year will bring unprecedented thrills to Hershey's Hawaiian Escape as Oronga roars onto the park's lineup of world-class coasters.

Towering 195 feet above the park, Oronga will become the tallest ride at the park. Adding to the thrill - riders will be strapped into floorless carriages, having nothing below them but their feet and the track.

After cresting the lift hill, riders will make a turn towards the drop, and will plunge 19 stories towards the ground before flying into an immelman element that will tower over the entrance plaza.

Guests will then be thrown for five more inversions, (not including one before the lifthill). The ride will feature three vertical loops, never done before on a floorless coaster, that will resemble the park's former star attraction: Viper.

The ride is a product of Bolliger and Mabillard, who are the minds behind Sulfur and Tidal Wave at the park.

The park opens for its 18th season soon.

This is the only concept art the park has released, I'll have a ton of more pictures in the next update. It looks as if the ride is going behind Tiger's last drop, the entrance will probably be behind the giftshop.

Here's some stats:

Height: 195 feet

Drop: 190 feet

Speed: 72 mph

Trains: 1 - 32 passenger

Inversions: 7 (2 immelmans, 3 vertical loops, 1 zero-g roll, 1 jo-jo roll)

Color: Dark Green Track/Light Green Supports

I've heard the park will release more images soon.

Update

Year 18

Here it is: Oronga.

The lift hill provides a totally different view than Sulfur's does.

This ride is massive!

I am disappointed in the station, though.

A view from my car in the parking garage.

It looks great as you're approaching the park.

You can see the loop from the entrance plaza.

The ride is larger than Tigre.

Park overview from the northeast corner.

I still have no idea what this is gonna be.
