live2tell75 Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Tonight I visited the Florida State Fair in the always beautiful Trampa with my friend Ray. I hadn't been in 5 years, so I thought I would check out all the fun. We hit a lot of the rides. The midway was pretty big. They had 2 compact wild cat- type coasters, a spinning wild mouse, flume ride, and duplicates of a lot of the same rides: 2 zippers, 4 music expresses, 4 ferris wheels, etc... Since it was a Monday, the fair was pretty empty. Onto the pics, enjoy! Help! He liked the funhouse until he almost got stuck in the enclosed slide. Ray thought the funhouse was, um..FUN! The sky was fantastic tonight! 1 of the 3 larger credits, The Cyclone. Ray's going to map out our plan of attack!
live2tell75 Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 More pics: The views from one of the ferris wheels was awesome! Ray is way too happy! The only way to go to a fair is at night! Best ride of the night! The Madonna Ride!
live2tell75 Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 mo' pics' One my favorite rides from the UK trip: Samurai/Bling from Thorpe Park/Blackpool. Thanks for checking out my TR!
pete4winds Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 What is this, freakin' Tattooine with its twin suns??? Great TR, by the way...looks like fun.
bulldogmom Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 WOW- these pics are awesome! Especially with the sunset and the lights. Just beautiful. Looks like fun- except for the enclosed slide thing- I'm claustrophobic, so I wouldn't go near something like that
live2tell75 Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 ^ Sorry, Elissa I didn't take any food pictures, (please don't reach through your computer screen and kill me!) I didn't have too much to eat, (I had a late lunch). I did have a slice of greesy pizza, fresh sugary lemonaide and a very yum-o freshly baked hot pecan-cinnamon roll.
pete4winds Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 ^ All of which would've been GREAT photographic studies
Homer Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I get emo every time I see pictures of the Florida State Fair, I beg my parents every year since I was like 9 to go yet we never go. "Wait for the county fair!" they'd say... At least my county fair is in a month... Great TR that makes me emo...
DenDen Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I wish theme parks in this country would illuminate their rides like carnivals/fairs do. I think that's why I loved living in Vegas so much, lights are pretty!
munkyknum Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Cool pictures, I'm going to be heading out to the fair Sunday and I'm glad I get a look at it before hand. Any one want food pictures when I go?

thefitness Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Nice pics,I'll hopefully be going this weekend.I've never been so I'm pretty excited. How were the lines?long?
live2tell75 Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 ^ Since it was a Monday night and not a all-you-can ride armband day, the place was pretty empty. Most of the time we were the only ones on the rides.
BarryH Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Nice photo TR! I went to the Florida State Fair a few years ago and the midway was pretty massive. I think 3-4 midway operators are there at the same time. That's why you see duplicates of the same ride. Most of the same rides are still there from a few years back.
GMAN962 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Nice photo TR, looks like you got some great shots there. And had fun, of course! -Mike
live2tell75 Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 So I decided to hit the fair a second time last night. I was off from work, it was the last night of the fair & I felt I didn't get the whole fair food "experience" on my last visit. The food was great last night, not so much today. (But I guess that is half th fun, of the fair!) One of my good friends, Olivia joined me and we had an absolute blast! It was a all you can ride armband day for $25. We rode all the rides. But we froze our asses off! It was in the mid to high 40's last night! I know for most that is not cold, but for us Floridians that is freaking freezing! Onto the pics! And yes, Elissa, there are food pictures! Enjoy! I can still taste this today. Can't come to the fair without having a Philly Cheese Steak! Olivia's all about the gyros. Once inside the gate, had to grab a yummy corn dog.
live2tell75 Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 Mo' pics! I used to love the super Hymilaya when I was kid. Not so much now that I am older. The bruise on my leg is proof that I sat on the outside. Again, love the fair at night! We both love the hang glider type ride. Very relaxing.
SharkTums Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 The cheese steaks always smell so good...but the results, not so much! Thanks for the food pix!!!!
