Favorite Form of Intamin Drop Tower

The stand-up tilting tower with a floor is pretty damn scary. But, like Bill said, we'll have a whole new type of tower to add this list soon.

I gotta go with Giant Drop, they give me the most thrill. Gyro Drops are boring to me.

 

I also like 1st Gens, however I've only been on one so It's hard to really rank those higher than Giant Drop, but boy do those 1st Gens freak me out.

I think Lex Luthor is the best among the 4 Intamin drop rides I've been on, with the sitting one at the top of Canton Tower coming at No.2. The scariest one is a Moser drop tower at Orange County Fair but I don't like it as much as the Intamins. Intamin drop towers' airtime is beautiful and enjoyable while Moser only tries to scare you.

I love the normal 2nd generation. It's such a great feeling and reminds me of the new hotness of giant drops here in Europe! Standup Tilting Floorless is really scary and good for some variation but for men it's not the best invention

I've only been on tow drops: Hurakan Condor at Portvaventura and Demon drop at Dorney and while the second actually felt scarier (for some reason) I have to praise the sheer height of the first.

I find it hard to pick, I love all Intamin drop towers, including first generations.

 

But I voted for the gyro towers as I think they're the most re-rideable, and you get an amazing view as it rotates on the way up. I love both the Kings Island and Kings Dominion versions, but felt the latter seemed to go on longer.

 

Have to give an honorary mention to Acrophobia, where you stand as it rotates (so I guess it's a standing/gyro hybrid?). I only went on it once but it scared the living crap out of me! Definitely intrigued to see what Falcon's Fury is like.

I've only been on the 1st gens, 2nd gens, and gyros. Out of the three, 1st gen takes it. Maybe it's just the fond memories getting to me, but those things were just too much fun.

 

I prefer the 2nd gen to the gyros, better free fall feeling IMO. I really want to get on a stand up, Falcons Fury will be nuts too.

I prefer the Giant Drop's like Fritt Fall, Hurakan condor, Apocalypse etc..

 

They feel more intense than the Ring/Gyro Drops, and you can have different rides experience on the same tower.

My favorite Intamin drop tower is Drop Tower at King's Island. It has the most powerful drop. A close second is the standard Giant Drop free falls.

Drop Tower at KI is the only tower from Intamin that I have been on that comes close to the intensity of an A.R.M. drop tower. The second generations and KD's Drop Tower feel more floaty than intense free-fall.

I prefer the older drop towers like the ones that was at SFOG. Just the mechanics of how it operated amazed me.
