ParkTrips Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 so yeah... pictures tell it all .. and I leave you with a coaster shot, hope you enjoyed haha, onride photo back when Gwazi was almost ridable Mardi Gras parade! YAY for beads BOO for lack of boobs Universal again some 5-6 years ago, it grew up a little, ha! yay, it's a go kart! me peeking at my Christmas gift in 1995... awww my grandma (sad) view from my mom's office in the summer of 1996, apparently there was some sort of festival or something downtown Me being Tiger Woods a few years before he became who he is... summer 1995 wow, proof my mom rode Blazing Fury! Other than the Wacky Worm at Lake Winnie in 05, this may be her last coaster ridden haha, GONE! First visit to Dollywood! April 95! I used to have a dog, but was quite frankly terrified of it, which may be why I'm not a big fan of dogs anymore I wasn't sure where this was taken..? My first foot-long hot dog, Saskatchewan Canada - certainly not my last nothing like shooting your aunt int he eye from close range! I had to throw in a phallic object Lovely theming, I wonder if this is where Universal got their employees Mount Rockmore > Mount Rushmore OMG Bedrock City in South Dakota! Most ghetto theme park ever! Just George, Teddy, Abe and Tom hmmm what could I be looking at? Panning for gold at Camp Snoopy Knott's Camp Snoopy in 1993!! mmm Stone Mountain! Gameboy > DS huh? yeah, I was cool, check out the Discovery Zone t-shirt yay Scooby! Waiting in line for the newest attraction, Back to the Future.. hangin' with my homeboy Elroy at the old Hanna-Barbera ride! Where's the hotels?!? Tomorrowland speedway! Hi Rich!! simply classic! Where else to start but every child's dream place... WDW! 1992
Louise Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Awww, Jow! I love it!! Not nearly enough geeky teenage pics though... In fact, none at all! I love seeing how people have changed through the years, thanks! Â Oh, and on the Tiger Woods pic? I can TOTALLY see the beginnings of a gut that would later become famous...
disneyfan1313 Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 That was a fun report! The photo of the stockades is from Liberty Square in WDW. That last photo is pretty friggin funny - a coaster photo where it looks like you placed yourself so you could see no track at all...just supports!
ParkTrips Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 ^ Thanks, I THOUGHT it was WDW but it just seemed to fit the Dollywood profile more  There are a lot more photos of me growing up, I just added what I could for now. Maybe more later, and I'll try to get the best dorky teenage ones for you Loo
V2-dude Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Pretty decent looking kid there. What happened?
niiicolaaah Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Joe, that is the worst picture of Montu EVER... Congratulations.
SharkTums Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Is it like in the parenting handbook that you have to take your kids to Bedrock City around that age?!! I swear I have those exact same pictures!
Scaparri Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Discovery Zone was the poop! I miss that place. Are there any still in existence?
cfc Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Those are pretty cool. Joe--but the character in the seventh picture from the top is Yogi Bear, not Scooby Doo, you whippersnapper! Â Yeah, I'm old. Â Chuck
Jayjay719 Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Discovery zone haha. I miss that place too. Thanks for sharing the pictures! Makes me want to take a trip down memory lane. I have to see if I can the pictures we took when I was little. If I can find them, I will share with you guys.
Spookbaby Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 That's Yogi Bear you're posing with... not Scooby you jackass.
Erik Johnson Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Is it like in the parenting handbook that you have to take your kids to Bedrock City around that age?!! I swear I have those exact same pictures! Â I am pretty sure I do as well, plus the one near the Grand Canyon.
Scaparri Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 So does this mean I had a dysfunctional childhood if I've never even heard of Bedrock City?
crazyrider06 Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 ^^ Jason you would miss discovery zone… that’s ok because I do too…. Looks like you had a pretty good trip, great pictures by the way.. I so want to ride dumbo I haven’t done that in years..
coasterman7 Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Great trip report! That picture from your mom's office of downtown-you said that there was some kind of festival going on. That was a view of the Centennial Olympic Park during the '96 olympics, so they were probably having a bunch of activities in the park. And I remember Discovery Zone!! At the one I went to, they had a Jurrasic Park Laser Tag. Thought it was pretty awesome!
ParkTrips Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 LOL, I was 10 during the Olympics, I knew what was going on, it was sarcasm! I actually remember them being announced, 3 years before you were born  .. and yes, Scott, yes...
coasterman7 Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 ^ Sorry, I kind of take things literal and seriously.
jedimaster1227 Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 1. I miss the Fantastic World of Hanna-Barbera badly... 2. I actually remember owning one of those nerf dart crossbows when I was younger (I think it was handed down to me from my brother). 3. This is a really cool and nostaligia inducing TR. Thank you for that!
