jamesdillaman Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 My young puppy Miles (He's 2) has pancreatitus (sp?) and only a 50.50 chance, please pray for him as he's in the hospital... I appreciate it, -james Dillaman
Vigilante Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Sorry to hear that, will do. Hopefully everything turns out ok. I love animals and would be kinda bummed to hear your friend died. I will keep him in my prayers. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.
lapseofreason Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Awww. I know how you feel; we lost our 8 week old puppy a year ago when someone stepped on him in a park by accident. I still miss him. I hope your puppy gets better
the sound Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Sorry to here that. I will pray for him, despite my dislike of dogs.
Hercules Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 I'm very sorry to hear this. I hope everything works out.
Flo3:16 Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Sure will ask the Boss, before going to Sleep tonight.
steel Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 So sorry about this. I can't imagine losing my little Millie girl. You and your dog are in my thoughts and prayers.
FlyingScooter Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Sorry to hear about your dog. That's rough. Wishing for the best.
weeow Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 I'm so sorry to hear that. Praying for the best.
jamesdillaman Posted October 14, 2006 Author Posted October 14, 2006 UPDATE! We were able to take Miles home yesterday. He's eating a special diet and drinking on his own, so he no longer needs the IV in his leg. He's still very sick, and will have to eat low residue food the rest of his life, but at least he made it through the weekend, as there was indeed some doubt he would. Thanks for everyone who thought of my family, especially my brother (Who picked Miles out, named him, and has been away at college the entire time he's been ill) He's almost like himself for 10 minutes or so, then he just sleeps. The vet says sleep is the best thing for him, and NO TREATS at all for at LEAST 2 months. Thanks again to everybody. -James Dillaman
Top Thrill Dragster Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I am glad your dog is doing good, and I will keep him in my prayers. I know how it feels to lose a pet, my dog of 13 years died last week in his sleep.
Coyote Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Glad hes doing better. I had a touch and go situation with my pup back in July when he jumped the fence out of the yard and got hit by a car. He lost one hind leg and almost lost the other when it got "degloved", but they were able to save it. Its mid oct. and his remaining hind leg is about fully healed - finally.
mr_teisco_delrey Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Sounds like good news. Diets for dogs can be really touchy sometimes. My wife forbids me to feed the dogs anything but dog food.
Hercules Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I'm very happy to hear that things seem to be going well.
nyanko Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Sounds like good news. Diets for dogs can be really touchy sometimes. My wife forbids me to feed the dogs anything but dog food. As she very well should! Pancreatitis often DEVELOPS from too much fatty food in a dog's diet. Their bodies are not equipped to deal with that.
Coyote Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 And its been a week since your last update - how are things going currently? Hoping the "no news is good news" vibe is at work here...
jynx242 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Please let us know if everything is all right with the pup. My dog was sick about 6 weeks ago and did not make it. She had an aneurism in her stomach. I hope yours is ok. This was her.
