Trust me, I know what is involved in building a working model. He is going about it completely backwards. Style before substance seems to be how he is approaching it.

Read his website updates. Has he held to his schedule? Is there a working prototype as promised MONTHS ago? Can he make a static model of Axis? Absolutely. Is he anywhere near making a functioning model? No.

I have said this over and over....you can name the coaster, draw pictures in Solidworks, talk about how many elements it will have all day long, but unless you build one that works, none of this matters. The reality is that a working Axis model is no closer to completion than it was when this thread was started.

You can say what you want, but until you produce a working model, I suspect you will continue to get called out on this.

I guess I had my head up my A$$ the last couple of weeks and I really need to get work done. I could be able to get the crossmembers for the track cut and placed in a day or two and add another day to add track and while doing that, get the trains done to do the testing in a week or two.

I apalogize for my foolishness over the last few days and the lack of updates since I've been worrying about some other things lately.

As I have said, I have nothing against you at all. I do, however know the kind of dedication and ingenuity it takes to build a working coaster model from scratch. That is why there are only a handful that exist. In fact, none exist that are as elaborate as your original design. Not even close. So when I see all these people on here giving you props for essentially just talking about what you are going to do rather than actuallly doing it, I get frustrated.

BUILD A WORKING PROTOTYPE. Stop talking about the color of the seats, the layout, etc. We want to see it actually work.

Hey guys, I'm glad you solved that dispute on your own. It actually DOES show maturity here on the TPR boards among our younger memebers. But please remember to be civil. This is obviously his project and is sharing his production on his own time. Bottom line, if you don't have something nice to say just don't say it. Thanks, and good luck on the model.

Personally I would be giving first priority to building the wheel assemblies, they are the thing that is going to make or break this thing, the seats really dont matter till later since the train will roll with or without seats hanging off the side if you get what I mean.

I mean, I don't even see why it needs to be painted yet, since paint doesn't make it go.

Probably because it's easier to paint the small and tiny pieces before the full train is constucted. I have no idea what the smallest piece is, but I'm assuming that it would be pretty freaking hard to paint a small wheel gray with any sized paintbrush, without accidentally painting part of the wheel assembly that color as well when you wanted the wheel assembly to be black.

I think that this model will be completed. This is kind of (ok, very vaguely) like my RCT3 project Adventure Gardens. It's going to take freaking forever to complete it, (trying to make varied futuristic/realistic structures is challenging when you try to keep the park from looking random) as it has already taken a year and a half, simply because it is so hard to think of stuff. But I WILL finish it. I know I haven't worked on it since the last update, but I have plans for Dueling LIM coasters, a drifting coaster, that weird coaster that has the vertical turning track (maybe, I'm not entirely sure because the trains seem kinda "old style") a Vekoma Tilt Coaster that goes underground, and much more. So, in other words, although these projects are highly detailed and are extremely challenging, they will get done one way or another.

I wouldn't even come close to saying this is highly detailed...this model could be if he knew what he was doing. With the way its being designed I see no reason why it's taking so long...just tells me he doesn't know what he's doing and the project is low priority. He is designing this model as if it were an engineering masterpiece but seems to only have the mindset and knowledge to build a low-profile toy at best.

Wow. I'm not going to go into my private life, but I have had a lot of stuff going on these last few weeks in school and out of school.

And I did decide to scale the project back. I don't plan on creating a big grand layout though like the others I carelessly made. Once I perform the tests, then I'll decide on the layout and I can tell you this now, it's not going to be anywhere near as big as the old ones. Maybe just a simple oval layout with a inversion and a hill or two. That's it. And if I do remember correctly that Jack Rimer awhile quoted that I should keep the layout simple. That's what I'll do.

^Dude nevermind the comments, if you got something going on at home or in school, then you do what you have too. Once you take care of all your problems, then you get back to the coaster project, you know what you are capable of doing. Nevermind all the "hub bub", your entitled to a little thing called a "life". Can't wait too see the new progress , at your own pace! Later Dude!

Not funny.

It's going to be downsized. I plan on finishing the cars and the track on the prototype and the project will be done. If I document what it took to make the model and go into the history of roller coasters, this will pass (remember that building a full model was going to be extra).

Basically I underestimated how much power and how complicated it was to build a working coaster model so I cancelled it and decided to job shadow at Hersheypark instead.

I might've been a epic fail of a project, but I've learned from it.
