CoasterExpert13 Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 For me, one of the funniest moments were last summer, while visiting my home park: Kennywood.....I decided to take a chance on the "Pit Fall" (256ft. Freefall Ride) I love coasters but I despies freefalls, they kill my stomache...anyhow I sat in the seats facing the cliff (Looking at the Phantom's Revenge & Thunderbolt) I was at the top waiting to be dropped...whosh! the car speeds toward the ground, then i noticed that my sandals came off my feet and were floating in from off me. When the ride came to a stop, the sandals flew over the cliff side and I ended up walking around the park for the rest of the day in Tweety Slippers.
Movieguy Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I remember the first time I went to kennywood, wearing a brand new pair of red shorts, and a white Cleveland Indians Shirt with matching cap. I decided to go on the Raging Rapids, and I got SOAKED on that thing. the red from the shorts ran onto my white shirt along the bottom, and I'll never forget when I walked to the car in my wet shoes and socks, and my feet seemed oddly sore, before taking off my socks to discover that the soles of my feet looked like two big prunes, wrinkled beyond belief! I'm laughing right now just thinking about it, hehe. Think I learned anything the next time I went? Nope! The next time I went, I made the mistake of riding the Pittsburgh Plunge while wearing silk boxers! God that gave me an unholy rash. I didn't find it funny then, but I'm laughing now hehe.
CoasterFanatic Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Following in the Kennywood footsteps: I was coaxed by my friends one time into playing the game where you through a small "sandbag" at the 3 cans and try to know them off the table. Well, I reared back and launched a speeding sandbag right at the game ops head. He dropped and the sandbag crashed into one of the stuffed animals on the wall knocking it down. As he got up in horror, we all hit the ground laughing. Now, anytime we see one of those games, they always try to get me to play. // Officially retired from the "knock crap off the table" game
Angry_Gumball Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 No real funny moments other than me commenting someone's ride photo not realising they were 20 feet away from me. I pointed out how the rider had some ginormous mouth. My real funny moment will be getting back at the person who sent me that msn "I like to screw up peoples computers" funmaker thing..(see help topic I posted)
CoasterExpert13 Posted April 20, 2005 Author Posted April 20, 2005 Here's another one....and it's quite foul... I was at SFMM and I was extremely tired....so tired that I fell asleep in the coaster car of Superman...I guess they had a problem in the back because it took forever to launch...anywho....the car had blasted forward...now remeber i was EXREMELY TIRED because I was still sleeping...when the car fell back down and into the station I my friend slapped me to get up and was just starring at me...not because I was sleep..but because snot was pulled from my nose some how during the ride and it ended up on my clothes...Talk about embarassing..everyone was laughing so I did too...(after I cleaned myself of course )
M_Force_4_ever Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 ^thats horrible, this is one of my stories, even though its not about what happened to me. a group of my friends and I decided to go to SFGAm in 2002 and one of my friends had to go to the bathroom so we all waited while he was in there. he was taking so long we get the idea (to mess with him a little bit) we would all clap when he came out. as he exited the bathroom he noticed all of us standing there clapping and cheering and man he looked pissed, that was a very funny moment, well...at least to me it was.
disneygurlz2s Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 My mom and I went down to WDW in 1997.... it was my first trip there since the edition of ToT and I was so excited to ride. My mom was in her 70's at the time, so I was a "lone rider". When it came time to board, they gave me the back center seat. Although I had read every detail possible about the ride in Birnbaum's book, I was still nervous. Imagine my shock when I sat down and realized that I had a seat belt, but no bar in front of me to hang on to. So... the ride starts and off we go... I was fine.... until we got to the first drop. As we dropped, I got that sensation of needing to grab onto something...so I did: the little Japanese man next to me!! I put a death grip on his upper arm. I think I scared him more that the ride ever could have!! Naturally, I apologized, and kept my hands to myself for the remainder of the ride, but by the time I went to exit, I was laughing hysterically.... Shari "I still laugh to this day when I think about it..." Shoufler
FlyingScooter Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 My kids and i were in the front seat of Batman: Knight Flight SFWOA?GL. as we came down the first, we flew right into a cloud of gnats (sp?). Man, that was the gaggiest ride we ever had. we were spitting long after we got off that thing.
Scaparri Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 I'd say the funniest thing that I've done at an amusement park wasn't embarrassing. I was at PKI with my best friend, who has quite the fear of big rides and heights. Well, I really wanted to go on Drop Zone, but he refused to step foot near the thing. I knew he had been on Hellevator at SFKK before, so I decided to have some fun with a few white lies . I simply began telling him that DZ was barely taller than Hellevator. I told him that I'd been on both and that they were pretty much the same. Yeah, I lied straight through my teeth, but the point is, I got him in line. We waited for an hour and then finally got up to the ride. Throughout the line I had been reassuring him that this was going to be no worse than Hellevator and that the two rides were the same height. Finally, we got in our seats, harnesses locked, and as the ride began to lift off the ground I broke it to him. I said, "Chris, I'm sorry man, but I lied. This isn't the same height as Hellevator. It's almost twice as tall. You are riding the tallest freefall tower in the nation (this was in 2002)." He then let out one of the biggest tapesties of profanity I have ever heard. It was absolutely hilarious. Did I feel bad? A little, but not a whole lot. We did the ride, he walked off still throwing in profanity at me (in that best friend kind of way), and told me that he liked the ride but that he wasn't about to do it again any time soon.
CoasterFanatic Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 ^ Actually ... Hellevator scares me more than Drop Zone. Something about those low placed brakes on the shorter towers. // Anything called Hellevator is scary to me
Shadowforce Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 When I was at Bakken, recently, me and my mates from Themeparkdenmark where riding the Rodeo, where you go around on a "0" shaped course in small electrical cars. Anyway, I got tired of everyone following the "No Crashing" rule, and decided to have some fun. All except one of the riders where my friends, so they agreed to the idea. I am the most awful driver in the world, and I was soon crashing and smashing everything that got in my way. Good fun. Suddenly, the stranger got enough of our antics, and decided to ram into my side in a move resembling the PIT maneouvre from San Andreas. Suddenly, my car started spinning around, the joints squaking from the pressure on the wheel assemblies. When I came to a halt, my car was perfectly aligned with the track - but opposing all the other cars. When the ride ops saw this, they stopped the ride and got us out. We were all laughing so hard, even the ride ops, who said they've never seen anything like it before. The cars can barely handle the two turns as it is, and I spun it around 3 or 4 times or something. Didn't even get any trouble. Ahhh, great times.
benzo41190 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 When I went on a school trip to SFGAm me and my friends decided to go on Splash Water Falls, all of us had about $50.00 on us so we payed a fat guy (from school) to go on the ride with us (he hates rides and didnt want to do it because he hated us). So we go on the ride with him and the ride has one lap bar for four people(in one row), he was fat and the Op closed the lap bar and we had so much room and the op even asked us if we would be alright and we said fine. We start going up the hill and we were getting nervous, we go down the drop and we all stand up (because of the room in the seat) and we hit the bottom of the drop and we flew forward because we were standing and landed on the people infront of us  they looked at us and we stormed them with apologies and we went back in our seats (everyone was laughing). The funny thing was the only people that saw what happed were the people on the boat and the bridge. We never got caught by the ride Op (another sign of op's becoming lazier)
X Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 This is something my 8 year old sister did 6 years ago. We were driving home from Disneyland and we stopped for McDonalds. My dad threw a hamburger wrapper out the window on the side of the road. My Little sister was only 2, and she said"I throw things out the window better than you do. Watch me Daddy." She took my other sisters hamburger and threw it out the window. My older sister than screamed at my little sister and took the box of Cheerios my little sister was eating and threw it out the window! Thats how the Annual Bujold sisters Throw your personal items War! I was laughing so hard watching Care Bears and and Rattles fly out our car window! Coasters 4 ever Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 At a theme park there is two. The first: when my dad and two of my brothers(I have 5) went on Dueling Dragons, the one that's 28(at least I think he's 28 ) was freaking out when we rode in the front. He was yelling and screaming but I was laughing at him the whole time. The second: this one wasn't that funny, but when we went on Kali River Rapids at the bottom of the drop a huge wave swept over my mom and dad getting them soaked, while the rest of the raft got only moderately wet.
socalMAN123 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Back in ye day when KBF was smart enough to actually run the waterfall on Bigfoot Rapids, my family and I were riding it and I was blabbing away on how un-wet I was, when suddenly my whole family screams my name, and I turn around to meet face to face with the waterfall. Oh, and it was about 60 degrees outside. ---Brent 8)
