viking86
I have heard about something like that, but I dont see how it could happen. How would her hair make it all the way up to the locking mechanism when the car wasnt dropping? Even then it should be impossible... http://www.wimmerl.com/Coaster/Bilder/HeidePark/DSC01281.html

haux
wow.. First time I heard this story with a gyrodrop... Most of the time its a First Gen tower never happened. Apparently it did happen, it just wasn't on a freefall tower. Edit: Misread Snopes.
stormrider
Hey, I'm glad that boys usually don't have long hair then But now that I know that it COULD happen, well, that's nothing to joke about. I'm sure this happened during the Industrial revolution when women worked at factories as well. And 13 isn't young to you anymore? And it said the accident was on a kiddie ride. TheArchfiend
It has happened and I've heard dozens of people say that it was at the Stuntman's Freefall at Great Adventure when it was not. When I'm at Great Adventure I tell girls that it did happen at Stuntman's Freefall only that girl's scalp didn't get ripped off but rather they got stuck at the top with the girl pinned to the back of the car and her hair stuck to the track. Anytime Freefall get stuck at the top I say "uh oh, another girl is getting hung by her own hair." You'd be surprised what people would believe. Just doing my part to keep urban legends going. ECZenith
Ow... Yeah there' sno way a gyro drop could get someone hair caught up in th elift mechanism. Unless they have a "Marge Simpson" kind of hairdo that's 7' tall or so.
