mforce79
Sorry, no pictures of the car ride to the park today. I wanted to save my batteries for the important stuff:-) It was an absolutely beautiful day for pictures, but the park was pretty crowded, and the temps were up in the mid- 90s. We only got a chance to ride each coaster once, but we cheated and signed up for the Brewmaster's Club twice, so overall it was a sucessful trip. The thing I love about Busch Gardens is that every time I go, I find something in the park that I've never seen. Today I met a walking four-legged piece of shrubbery near the park entrance. Very random, but also very entertaining. For a park that only has 4 coasters I'm happy that there is so much else to do every time I go. The park has an astonishing attention to detail that I'm starting to appreciate more as I get older. Not many changes in the construction site since 2 weeks ago. The area is pretty much leveled off now and it looks more and more like a parking lot. hope you enjoy the pics. -Chris I wasn't lying... a group picture with the walking 4-legged creepy looking piece of random shrubbery. If you look closely at this picture you'll find that this dude is chiseling a naked woman into a piece of canvas with a hammer patiently waiting for free beer while being subjected to subliminal advertising... no wonder it's free Then later, the same dude came out with a small alligator. And he was like, here kids, touch my alligator he was like... here kids, touch my snake After having an intelligent conversation with a talking Parrot, this guy came out with an 8 foot boa wrapped around him This is the closest I've seen the Bald Eagles. It was only about 4-5 feet from the fence Some real park photos We asked a random employee if we could help with the construction, and they put my brother to work right away new for 2007. $500 preferred parking bye-bye Lemans station Judging by this picture, I think it might end up being the world's first wooden dive machine Gotta get my construction footage
ECZenith
Nice photos, especially that second one of Alpengeist. I haven't been to BGE in a while and I think that long railroad bridge where they're building Griffon is my favorite area of the park (scenic-wise) I have a much better idea of where the ride is now. Ohhh... and I have to ask: Do they still sell pins for the coasters there? I wondered if you happened to see them in the gift shops around th epark. I actually didn't get many coaster pics today. I have so many pictures of the rides, I tend to focus more on the random stuff I run into at the park nowdays. I took a lot of video of Alpengeist though... I'd like to make another video soon. To answer your question, there are plenty of coaster pins in the gift shops, but most of them are different designs from what they used to be a few years ago

pkdcoaster
Awesome pics dude, Was BGW running the coasters at max. capacity? or the usual 2 trains? oh yea that lady has a Big Bush!!!! time for that waxing JEFF
cfc
^I was there last night for a few hours, Jeff, and they were running just two trains on everything (which was fine for Nessie, but not so much for the other coasters). They've started a little decorating for Howl-o-Scream, too. The two talking skeletons are back and hanging out in New France (not a lot of info from them, though). BeemerBoy
Nice pics. That second pic of Alpy is a great shot! It's one of the best I've ever seen of that coaster.
mforce79
Awesome pics dude, Was BGW running the coasters at max. capacity? or the usual 2 trains? JEFF I think all the coasters started out with 2 trains. I know there were 3 trains on Apollo by late afternoon b/c that's when I rode. I thought they put the 3rd train on Nessie too, b/c I noticed in some of my pictures that the extra train was in the transfer track in the AM, but it was not there in the afternoon. I wish I had gotten some more still shots, the brightness of the sky makes all the difference in the world, and they turned out great, but my main focus was getting video. Some of the video shots turned out really good too. I'll probably end up going back next weekend. I must have missed the skeleton's, I'll have to look for those next time. kennywood!007
The construction seems to be a small plot of land. But the park looks great!
coasterguy618
Great Photos. I love BGE. One of my favorite parks. Also, the plot of land that the new coaster or ride will go on looks fairly small. MForce79, did you take pics of the whole construction site?
mforce79
I think the best possible shot you can get of the whole area would be from the top of the Alpengeist lift looking off to the left. I tried that shot when I rode, but the picture came out really blurry. Because of the elevation changes, you can't get the whole area in one shot from the ground. I have to agree, the area itself it not that big. I'm afraid it won't be a long ride if the whole thing is built on that cleared piece of land... but you never know. cfc
The skeletons were near the bridge between New France and Germany. They've started setting up the "Dismal Swamp" along the train tracks, too. Happy hunting.
DPdragon
The plot of land really isn't that big. For those who aren't familiar with the park, you can still see an old map on the park's website http://www.buschgardens.com/bgw/_images/bmap_bgwillbrg.jpg The park has updated the maps in the park but it puts into perspective what kind of land Busch Gardens has to work with. ECZenith
SheiKra has kind of a small footprint and I'm sure this coaster will be at least similar in layout. Looks just about the right size... It's going to look so cool diving by that huge railraod bridge.
pianojohn
Yes, Sheikra is on a pretty small footprint. However, they make the best use of it by utilizing a steep lift hill (45 degrees), the coaster crosses over itself several times, and the station is right in the middle of the whole structure. This way you don't waste a lot of space or track. I am just hoping for a splashdown somewhere along the way.
ShannonSomerville
I went there this past Sunday. All the coasters were running at least 2 trains. The only long line we had was for the Log Flume(it was pretty hot that day). We started our day with a ride on Escape From Pompeii(oh joy!!). pkdcoaster
I Do Not understand BGW at all, The big coasters ALWAYS used to have 3 trains everyday in the summer. Now it is like Saturdays only. When they are MORE crowded now than ever and all BGW's coasters can easily handle 3 trains but it seems like when they do run 3 it is stack city. mforce79
I don't think it's accurate to judge the park based on how many trains they have running. They could have 5 trains on the track and they'll dispatch them when they want. It's all about the efficiency of the operators. An efficient 2 train operation is perfectly fine with me on almost any ride, especially the ones at Busch Gardens, except for maybe BBW. I've waited a lot longer from the same spot in line for a slower 3 train operation on many rides.
cfc
^I read similar complaints about BGT(A) last year, too. Appie's operations have improved somewhat, but they're slower to dispatch tains on Alpie for some reason.
