I agree that Ka should be done before El Toro especially if you don't have a qbot.

While they both suffer from Intamin's pushing-the-envelope breakdowns, Ka is usually open first, breaking down sometimes every 20 minutes. Get in line quick and just wait it out. If you're one of the first there, you may still have to wait an hour+ due to the fact that they often load a train, send it out onto the launch run, pull it back due it again, switch a train, etc...

El Toro does block testing for a couple hours and I would guess that it usally opens around noon or so.

Nitro and Superman should also be crowded, and the other two beemers, while popular won't have nearly as bad a line. Stay cool, drink lots of water, some of the lines have no shade.

^well i'd say Sunday I went on staurday got on 4 rides and I was there for 8hours El Toros line was 4 hours and KK's was like 2. If you HAVE to go on a weekend go on sunday other than tha ti'd say go monday or Wednsday. Also if there is light rain (which I doubt) take advantage of that and go! KK might be closed but the other rides will have no lines.

I'm going to gadv on saturday September 9th with my sister because she's seeing a smash mouth concert that day. I will be getting there a little before 10am and staying until 10pm. I will also be getting a regular flash pass because its a saturday.

I have a 2 questions...

How crowded do you think it be?

And will i be able to get a few rides on kingda ka, el toro, nitro, and medusa with a regular flash pass?

We were supposed to go 2 nights ago but it was canceled. Now were thinking of going the weekend of october 7-8. We wanna stay at a hotel close to the park (max 30 minutes by car). Anybody know any good prices? Not more then 100 a night tax included for 2 adults and one children.

Also how much crowd should I expect saturday and sunday in october? Will I get all the big coasters done and maybe even twice each day or should I still get the QBOT?

Is the buy one get one free coke promotion still gonna work in october?

Thanks a lot in advance guys!

And that is probably really about it. Sunday from opening and for a couple of hours after that will be your best time for riding, and that really isn't say much. I would pray for rain.

Why rain? The coasters would be closed.

By the way.. how's the weather like normally in new jersey in october?

Is 2 days at the park enough?

I'd try to get on as much as possible during the concert as that pulls several thousand park goers to there and lessens lines somewhat around the park. First week of September is when the insanely packed Saturdays end with the schools going back in session that week and less people subsequently booking a trip to the park. It's still pretty packed but not too bad.

You should be fine with the regular flash pass to get a few rides in on all the main attractions. The only wild card is Ka as it breaks down all the time reaking havoc on scheduled flash passers in line.

^ No, all the coasters should be open in the rain except kingda ka, and of course chiller.

Also could someone help me with my post up a few?

Well for someone who's probably not gonna visit GADV again for many many years, having King da ka closed isnt really a wish of mine.

Thanks for the help! I've only been to the park once and I'm not going to be going back until next year so I hope the lines aren't to bad. I also hope your right about the lines getting shorter during the concert.

Well if it does rain kingda ka will close, but it should reopen when the rain passes.

The whole point of me making the rain comment is because the only way that it won't be crowded at the park is if it rains. Basically, good luck getting all of the rides that you want to get in through the day during Fright Fest. It is the absolute worst time of year to go to the park.

And yes, the only ride that really wouldn't be operating would be except Kingda Ka in the rain, but Kingda Ka is down when the moon shines on it the wrong way. We are pretty hardcore up here in the Northeast when it comes to rain. We don't shut down our rides when there is a little light green blip on the radar like some places

I don't totally get the rain thing...Kannonen runs in the rain, Speed Monster runs in the rain, and I believe I saw Storm Runner run in the rain. I know there's a bigger chance for it to roll back, but they should still try!

^ I was told once that the reason KK shuts down at the first sign of rain was due to it's incredibly high speeds. The reasoning is this...rain drops, no matter how big or small can be quite painful at 128mph. Not sure how much truth there is to this theory, but it sounds logical.

They did try it when Ka first opened while it just started to drizzle and some people complained about how painful it was while state inspectors were looking on. Hence... banned from opperating in the rain there on out.

I rode storm runner when it was drizzling last year so it does run in light rain.
