RctInfinity Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Hello! I went on Kraken and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. So when I heard I was going to Busch Gardens this weekend, I thought I would be ready to ride Sheikra! So can anybody give me tips, like where to sit, and what the best part of the ride is? (I really hope I don't chicken out, LOL.) Also, I need tips for the other rides, like Gwazi, Kumba, Montu, Scorpion, and maybe (*sigh*).. Python. Thanks! (Ah, wrong smilie for the wrong park >_<) (Thread title changed, I went on SheiKra and had so much fun!)
WillMontu Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I think the best seats are in the back row on the outer edge. As for Python, it's an Arrow, not a Vekoma (not that there's a difference)
BeemerBoy Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Tip 1. Python is an Arrow. Tip 2. It will be leaving soon, so ride it while you can. Tip 3. It's not as big a "death trap" as it seems. Tip 4. Enjoy. EDIT: How did a Gator beat me to it?

verticalzero Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Your brave to go on the coaster at 11 years old. I would sit in the back row in the middle so you can't see the height of the drops. I rode "Oblivion" once at Alton Towers, I did not like the "free-falling" part and it has 2 many G's for me. I can do "Nemesis" in the back seat
Guest Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 You should try the front and back row's on SheiKra. Very different experiences. Montu is best experienced on the front row, right seat. I ride Kumba in the last row, right seat. Scorpion was fine anywhere we sat, try a few seats. Python is good too, just hold your head straight. Gwazi, ride both towards the front then try the back. I preferred Tiger to Lion...but ride both. Hope this helps.

ECZenith Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I preffered the front seat for the crazy visuals. Hanging over the 90 degree edge is the most anxious moment on any coaster. EDIT: I've been in almost every seat on that ride and never got more than a light misting from SheiKra's splashdown. The people standing near that area... however.
thefitness Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I agree the front is the best!(on sheikra) i would ride python since its leaving soon!
goleafsgo Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 well ive never ridden skeikra, but i rode Oblivion, and the front row was much better than the back row, just because you get a great view of the drop and it builds up alot of tension and whatnot. obviously if you are a bit nervous about it, then go in the back row.
Jumboshrmp Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 The most important advice anyone can give you is DON'T RIDE GWAZI! Unless you really want the credit. The ride is nothing more than that. A crappy ride built by Sucky Coasters International. Its not because the man died after riding it (though Im glad this ride has that kind of press now, because you really are better off not riding this). But I did prefer Tiger; less pain, more airtime. As for Sheikra (My #1 favorite Coaster), keep your eyes open for a single rider line. Last time I checked, there was one. Also, they dont let you choose your row,, and you can't wait for the front. While I like the back for most coasters, since sheikra has such a short train I don't think it makes much of a difference. My favorite row was front, but like I said, you don't get to choose. Montu (My #2 favorite Coaster), you need to ride a few times. It's by itself in the corner of the park, and when I went the longest wait was five minutes. A front seat on this is a MUST! I've only been on this ride and both Dueling Dragons, but this is BY FAR the best inverted coaster in Florida! Best part of sheikra of course is the drop, second best part is the hangtime in the immelman. The only ride I chickened out on was Phoenix (a looping pirate ship ride). But now I really wish i went on it.

It's not as bad anymore, they just retracked both sides so it's rideable now. Lion was the second side to get retracked, so it's actually smoother than Tiger is now. But my tip for riding Gwazi, ride in FRONT... the back rows of the train will shake the hell out of you still. Oh, and also, if you ask if they could duel them, they will

You should probably quit now. Scott "I mean that in the nicest possible way" B.

Wow, I rode three times, twice on Tiger and once on Lion and they never dueled them.
Fry Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I still found Gwazi to be death, that was just over two weeks ago now, so I guess the retracking didn't do it's job for me . I'd ride it once, it's an experience to say the least. Not one I ever want to repeat, mind. There wasn't a Single Rider Queue for Sheikra either, but I didn't need one, the main line was only 10minutes at the most. Anyway, I'd ride front on your first ride, it's stunning. Then, back *thinks*, right. Coming off the Immelman is insane and you feel like you're going to smack into the MCBR. The back also has the best , so make sure you ride there at least once. It looks really scary, but I didn't find it as bad as I thought it would be. I HATE Oblivion's lift hill with a passion, but Sheikra's didn't really phase me.
larrygator Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 here's a tip - when you get on the ride listen to the instructions and ride ops so that the train can quickly be dispatched. Oh and wait for the purple car on Cheetah Chase, the purple car rules

coastakid Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I may be young "12", but I'm a coaster nerd that loves SheiKra... My suggestion is that if your really scared (which you shouldn't be, because your safe) is to sit in the middle row, (and if your directed there, just ask to sit in the middle and they "may" let you wait) becuase it doesn't give you the insane hang-time the front row does, and not the intense air-time the back does over the 1st and 2nd drops. Great ride... Also, sit in the "more" center parts of the train on rides like Scorpion, Python, Montu, and Kumba. On Gwazi, make sure you sit before the 4th row, becuase otherwise it can be a rough ride. My tips are only if you find you are scared. becuase otherwise head for the fronts of the trains, becuase I find them to be much more fun and thrilling than the center, but the way back definetley "sp" gives a more intense ride. All I can say now is have fun!
jamesissoocool Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 When you go towards SheiKra don't think about the dorp just think about having fun, i was forced on by my brother i was scared like hell but after i loved it, anyway have fun. it's not that bad
dougstanton Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I guess I must be retarded or something...I rode Gwazi in Feb and had no problems whatsoever. It is actually one of my favorite wooden coasters. Honestly, if you consider this one rough, I can't picture you riding many more wooden roller coasters.
tinflowers Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I also enjoy Gwazi everytime. Its a great coaster. I don't understand some people sometimes. ; )

Gwazi was one of the roughest wooden coasters I've been on.

If it was one of your roughest, you must not have been on very many wooden coasters. My home park has GASM and GA Cyclone, and I can already say both of those are rougher than Gwazi.

I live and hour from the Coney Island Cyclone. I can handle bumpy, and I know that. The Cyclone in the back seat is the best
