Jon Sabo Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 A Dutch businessman has launched a project to turn Roald Dahl's imaginary chocolate factory into reality. Rest of story and credit link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/5140766.stm
Rollerholden Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Sort of like a mini Hersheypark? That sounds pretty interesting. By the way, you seem to find lots of coaster news.
BDG Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 A chocolate factory in Holland ? It's not a chocolate country. On the other hand, it's full of Oompa Loompas.
thomas2 Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 ^HAHAHA I completely agree with you This park should be in Belgium. Our chocolate is the finest
ScOtT k Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Who cares. I had too much fun at "heineken experience Amsterdam". They should build it near Brussels instead!!
Nrthwnd Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Isn't it about the story i.e the factory, the rooms, the experiences... ....besides the ooey gooey dark brownish sweety sticky ... stuff? Doesn't matter where it's built - only if it's a good rendition of what the books relate. Just like a movie is (supposedly) "based on the book of..."
obeygiant Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Ever since I have seen Chocolate Factory I have always said that it would make a sick park...Lets hope they do a good job.
BeemerBoy Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I took a quick look at the title of the thread and thought you were having a Nam flashback or something, Kumba9. Seriously though, this sounds kinda interesting, I guess. I wonder if we'll see more movie/book-inspired parks in the future if this succeeds? Scott "wouldn't be caught dead at the comic show, but not afraid to admit that a Star Wars theme park would be sweet" B.
Draculus Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 With Johnny Depp "animatronics"? Screw Johnny Depp, it's all about Gene Wilder; the REAL Wonka. Besides, isn't POTC enough for Johnny?
