Jon Sabo Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 COLORADO SPRINGS CARNIVAL RIDE CRASHES 4 of 6 People On Board Taken To Area Hospitals With Reportedly Minor Injuries. by NEWS CHANNEL 13 Staff 7/15/2006 A carnival ride at the Norris Penrose Event Center next to the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo crashes, sending at least 4 people to the hospital. According to a spokesman for the Colorado Springs Fire Department, the ride was working fine when it came to a loud stop just after 9 pm. Fire crews had to use heavy rescue techniques to cut some victims out of the ride. Emergency techs say all the injuries appeared minor but 4 of the 6 riders were taken to the hospital for precautionary measures. The ride that malfunctioned is called the Hi-Roller. Cars spin around on a base and track, while the cars also move in a circle. The company responsible for the ride is Bill Hames Show, Inc. A spokesman for the company says they haven't had an incident with that ride or any other in decades. A fire department spokesman says the ride will be taken apart and inspected. The carnival's last day is scheduled for Sunday but it's not clear if it will open again. Hope this trend doesn't continue for the rest of summer.

SharkTums Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I gotta be honest...hearing about Carnival Ride Accidents doesn't even surprise me. It's like flying Aeroflot or Qantas! Driving a Yugo or Mercedes! Taking a ferry in Bangladesh or Norway! See my point? I hate that the news even tries to make these out like real amusement accidents. When this guy is running the ride, would you get on it!?!?
