P. 2239: Superman: Escape from Krypton permanently closed

The only time the gum actually bothered me was a tunnel roof on Jet Stream. How hard is it to get an employee to walk up there with a chisel and scrape it off? It's not like it's on a hard to reach support or anything, it's just an inch from your head.

Isn't SFMM supposed to have it 17th coaster for 2010? Any word on when this will be announced officially?

By year's end?

Please don't be Tony Hawk clone.........that's all I'm hoping for.

Also, do you guys think they'll get rid of Tidal Wave? I heard a rumor that they may and could put something small in that spot.

Its believed that Tidal Wave will be removed to further accamodate the new Wigges World, which looks like it'll take up the area between Freefall and Tidal Wave.

Actually I think they pushed it back to 2011 since it'll be the company's 50th anniversary, and instead next year we'll be getting a few much needed flat rides.

I thought they were going to do a smaller family coaster for 2010 and a big ride in 2011 for the anniversary? I know Wiggles World is coming but I am still hoping for the Drop tower in the Colossus County Fair idea.

I heard that the coaster was coming in 2010 and Wiggles World was coming in 2011 as well as some new Hurricane Harbor slides.

If worse comes to worse, and the new ride comes out in 2011, I hope it is something special.

I'm a greedy bastard---I'm wishing for something like a Kingda Ka of our own to be honest

Well according to this link to RCDB http://www.rcdb.com/id4346.htm Mark Shapiro confirmed to LA times that Magic Mountain will get a coaster for 2010 and a Wiglles World sometime after that. As far as Tidal wave being scrapped, I doubt it will happen this year, because if I remember correctly, Flashback, Psyclone, and SpinOut were destructed in the late Febuary 2008. So I would imagine if it were going to be removed to make way for a 2010 attraction, it would have been done early this year during the off season. Just my 2 cents though.

Perhaps the first person to patent the "gum can" will make millions...

Phantom's Revenge has a "gum can" in its queue line & it's made into a game of sorts.

The Phantom Fling "gum can" to persuade people to dispose of gum prior to boarding.

Thats a really good idea! But it still sucks for the poor employee who has to clean that up
Why can I see one of those under Tatsu?

Anyway I'm still hoping for the full circuit launch coaster that could come in 2011.

Got back from Six Flags MM (on Sunday). I was too tired to write this last night.

Anyway, I had a good day at the park--didn't seem too crowded for a Sunday, maybe it was, but it didn't seem like it.

Flashpass really doesn't seem necessary for a day like this.

I started the day by running to Terminator/Deja Vu.

Ride report:

Terminator 2x

Deja Vu 1x

Goldrusher 1x

Riddlers Revenge 1x

Batman 1x

Scream 1x

Colossus 1x

Goliath 1x

GOT SOMETHING TO EAT (1:30 - 2:10)

CSI: Live (2:30 - 3:00)

x2 1x

Revolution 1x

Viper 1x

Tatsu 1x

Goliath 1x

Tatsu 1x

Roaring Rapids 1x

Log Jammer 3x

I saw Ninja was open early in the morning when I was speed walking toward Cyclone Bay. However, I was unable to ride it today because it was closed for the rest of the day. I don't know why though.

I would have rode Superman just to say that I got all the thrill rides in at Six Flags in a day (aside from Ninja) but the line was too long, it was starting to protrude out the entrance into the building (WEIRD) and we all know that's not worth it.

As most of you should know, Terminator is back to running 2 trains. It didn't matter for me as I was so early that of course there was no line and I got to skip the preshow. That's cool!

Deja Vu broke down right as I was going to get on (within 15 minutes of the park opening I guess). It wasn't anything major, they just had a slight problem or something. I asked about it but the ride ops didn't state anything specific. It got me wondering whether Deja Vu is as prone to technical problems like the other ones that were located at other Six Flags parks (before they were closed, demolished, etc) and whether or not our Deja Vu could suffer a similar fate.

I think I could have done a lot better as far as my ride report is concerned. I really wanted to ride a lot of rides multiple times, I had a great shot at it but I was with friends who aren't as crazy as I am when it comes to doing these things. If I was, I would have rode Goliath at least 5 times, maybe Tatsu several times and probably x2 twice. I finished up everything on the list above except for Roaring Rapids and Log Jammer by 7 PM. So I had time there.

Anyway, it was a good day.

Call me crazy, but I would love to see another family coaster at the park. Especially something along the lines of Tony Hawk's Big Spin. Spinning coasters are a great thrill, and are not too intimidating for the young ones. I think the park would do great with another coaster for riders under 48 inches!

^Yeah, everyone seems to want their home park to have a Mega-Lite!

Why, do you hate SFMM that much? Kingda Ka is a terrible ride that wastes a lot of SFGAdv's money.

If there is to be a new one, it would have to top Ring Racer in speed and it might as well be the first coaster over 500 feet! I think that would be a huge thing to brag about even if the ride quality isn't exactly all that great.

Plus SFMM does need more airtime machines

I dont think SFMM needs anything coaster related, SFMM would be much more enjoyable if they took better care of the park and focused more on capacity. A park can only get so many attractions before it starts costing them more money so much to run the park that they need to stop expanding with new rides and start replacing things and IMO SFMM fits the bill.

But either way...a credit is a credit I suppose
