WFChris Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Hey guys, I was planning on visiting next Saturday (May 10), and I just got the SP mailer that mentions somehing about "Music in the Park." It also mentions that tickets must be purchased at their website, admission at the gate will be full price, and season passes will not be accepted. Am I missing something? Have I chosen a terrible day to visit?

Music in the Parks is an outside company that hosts band/choral/orchestra groups for competitions that culminate with an awards ceremony at the park (and a picnic). This company hosts events at just about every Six Flags park. Â There may be a lot of middle/high school students at the park, but other than that, it's a normal operating day.
DJeXeL Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Yeah I know what you mean. Magnum turns 12 this weekend and she is now just getting over her upside down fears. Yay she just rode YOLOcoaster today!!! Â Nice. Congrats to her. Let her know there's more to offer outside of what Magic Mountain has!
JeromyL Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Full throttle sports bar was pretty good. The a/c in there was amazing in this heat. I think the only thing that is missing in there would be cell phone charging stations like at the gates in airports. That would be cool

Thanks, the part I'm curious about is the 'no season passes will be accepted' part. I don't mind purchasing an FP but if I can't use my pass, then no bueno.  Been on hold for OVER A HALF HOUR to ask this simple question, Six Flags!!!!
lvrounder Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Anybody there today that can provide input on the crowds/wait times? Thinking about heading up soon, especially since I have a pass for the after hours event. Â Thanks.
JeromyL Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 It's pretty much dead for the most part. Most rides about 20-30 min. With x2 at about 45 min. Full throttle back to 2 trAins at about 30 min wqit
JeromyL Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 This guy tried to ride jet scream backwards. Busted at the lift hill
coasterbill Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 This guy tried to ride jet scream backwards. Busted at the lift hill  What an idiot. Riding rides backwards is just a stupid thing people do to draw attention to themselves with minimal effort even though the ride experience would be perfectly fine if ridden forwards. I can see why Six Flags is against this.  (the guy is an idiot by the way, but I had to get a little dig in at SFMM)
JeromyL Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Lol. Yeah. It's people like this that end up getting hurt and their parents sue ugh!!!

JeromyL Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I'm digging the new ride op uniforms. (Not sure if it is new) but the snappy glow in the dark yellow really stands out!)
JeromyL Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Made it back to the hotel after a nice visit to Six Flags Fire Mountain (it was VERY HOT today we will be back tomorrow
medoman Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I was planning on visiting on the 10th also but never got an email (I'm visiting from the UK and have an annual pass from a visit last year to sfga. I can't find any info on the website regarding this music in the park event, am I missing something? Â was already planning on getting a platinum flash pass as It's the end of my trip.
WFChris Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 ^I called the park and she said that SP's will be allowed for entry into the park. It just won't allow entry into whatever the music thing is, and who cares. She also said that she doesn't think I need to pre-purchase a Flash Pass, for what it's worth.
JeromyL Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 To be honest even on the busy days. There were still plenty of fast passes on the shelfs after I picked mine up
Jew Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I'm digging the new ride op uniforms. (Not sure if it is new) but the snappy glow in the dark yellow really stands out!) Â Â ...As incredibly tacky?
JeromyL Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 ^^- if this place was actually themed I would agree. But for now they are just easily identifiable
