Kazuki
I was once scared of virtually all coasters until at DisneyLand Paris my Dad managed to get me onto Space Mountain (i'm pretty sure i didn't realise it was a coaster). Since then i've never had a fear. Me and my mates went to Alton Towers last month. One of my friends was scared of coasters. However we got to the entrance of Nemesis and even though he didn't really want to go on it he did. Now he'll go on anything.
verticalzero
It depends on the type of coaster and its layout, if it's over 200ft I do get scared. I'm scared of Vertical Drops and Giant Frisbee's
gymrat
I remember sittin on the launch on KK at GA last year thinkin "there is no way this thing is gonna make it over that hill"....I think that cured any fear I had of heights...if you can do KK...everything else pales in comparison
c0sterfreek
I used to be scared ****less! About 3 years ago I fianlly went on one and i got off laughing. From then on I cant stop rideing them! ~Chris
mombat
Well, Swami, I did it! I rode coaster #2... It was the Comet at Waldameer in Erie, PA... and I will NEVER do that again! (ok, if you're all done laughing at me now, may I continue?) I was really excited about it! I kept my eyes open through the whole ride, and I was scared poopless! It gave me the sensation of being in a car wreck that never ended. I'm thinking it's a control issue. No breaks, no steering, just sit there and take it! I still love coasters, watching them or reading about them. And I truely envy those of you who ride with such abandon and enjoyment. Look at it this way, I'm one less person making your wait time longer!
absolutace
i wouldnt ride demon drop until 4 years ago. i also refused to go on rides that went upside down, i could handle rides like magnum and the likes - but corkscrew was out of the question. it wasnt until i went on raptor that I got over my fear of them. i also went on power tower that shot you up to get over the dropping thing to this day, power tower is the ONLY ride that actually puts me on the edge of my seat

I'll go on Magnum anyday, but there is NO way you'll get me on any coaster that sends you through an inversion. Only exception may be the Space Mountain at Dlrp, or RnRC. First coaster over 100ft I went on was Gemini. I must say, after the first drop, it wasn't too bad. What gets me over it is not to scream, but say something like: "I am such an idiot!" When cresting the hill. That kind of gets me going for those big drops. I can stand anything after that big first fall. Pity that's the first hill you go over. LiVeToThRiLl90
i don't get why people are scared of inversions. Yes i was always scared of heights but it's never stopped me from riding a coaster, ive been on TTD, Kingda KA, and Millennium. Whoever says TTD and lkes they can't ride, those are the easiest there is no lift hill. Ur launced up, the ride is sooo fast that u don't even notice the height, the only time u see how high u are it a split second when u crest the dive before going back down. i've now though pretty much gotten over it. I like TTD better than KA becasue of the restraints.

socalMAN123
^ Happy birthday! Anywho, I used to be so scared of coasters, my dad couldn't even get me on Jaguar at KBF. I would scream and throw a fit until they would stop bugging me about it. But, after that first ride on Jaguar, it got me interested in Montezuma's Revenge. And I did the same thing for longer though (about 3 months). When I finally went on it, I was hooked. Since then, there hasn't been one coaster I haven't gone on because I was scared. I tend to get a wee bit scared coasting over the top of Goliath's first drop, but not much. ---Brent

grinch1313
Roller coasters have actually helped me overcome my fear of heights for the most part. I still get nervous on ferris wheels and drop rides (the kind that shoot you up are fine), but there's no roller coaster I wouldn't get on. I was a little nervous before SheiKra last summer but once we started dropping it was all fun. I absolutely can't wait to get to Cedar Point and get on Top Thrill Dragster. I'll probably be nervous while waiting, but the reward of the ride will definitely be worth it. I feel safe and secure on roller coasters being strapped into the train. It also helps me if I avoid looking at the ground and just look out at the scenery.
