niiicolaaah
Day 9: Thorpe Park The park was pretty crowded that day. Luckily, we had fast passes for all the major rides, and I was able to ride everything I wanted to. I was not impressed by the two S&S rides, Rush and Slammer. They looked a lot more impressive than they were. Other than that, I enjoyed my day and our ERT was awesome. And bye bye, Tommy and James! Then it was time to drop off the losers and head to the Stansted hotel. Bye bye, Catrina and Ted! Yeah, here's the aftermath. Oh my gosh, the front seat rocks. So we're waiting in line when all the sudden a huge POOF of bird feathers floats out from behind the house thingy... oh god they killed a bird! The second time, we rode in the front, and I LOVED IT!!!! We had ERT on Stealth. I didn't like it the first time I rode it. Samurai was fun. I wish it had lasted longer though. That seems to be a running theme with me and flat rides. Hehe. Uh oh, Derek, what are you going to do with that hose??? I thought this was a cool shot. We had some booze in the middle of the day, thanks to Tom. Yay Windex! YES This trip has trained me to become a better photographer. Oh yes. Say it with me - "Signature shot!" I loved the squiggly random pre-lift goodness (this isn't it) Nemesis Inferno. I'm sorry guys, but I LOVED this ride. Maybe cause it's only the third B&M invert I've ever been on... Tom got some energy from Ryan's delicious Irn Bru of wonderful goodness This is my favorite part of the ride. It's really intense But it was awesome! I was a little nervous for Colossus; it looks painful X:\No Way Out was closed when we got there. It opened later and we rode it twice I think this sign says "Welcome to Thorpe Park" Tom was pretty tired that morning. Oh God. What the hell is this? cfc
I know what you mean about Stealth. The first time I rode it in a middle seat, my reaction was "OK--that's it?" But the front-seat ride blew me away (as did the very back). Still, I wished it had one more trick in its repertoire.
TheStig
Haha loser party!!! What didnt you like about Stealth the first time? Were you just scared or did it hurt or what? Nice update again Nicole! Colin C
niiicolaaah
Me scared? There were no ferris wheels involved. And the ride hurt? No. It just wasn't anything special, as I rode in a middle seat. In the front, the view is spectacular. It's so weird to see the track twisting away from you and nothing else underneath.
TheStig
Ahh I was under the impression that you didnt like it because of the way you reacted to it, but yeah most of the rocket coasters are front seat rides. Im glad you liked it though, they are a cool concept. Colin"haha 669 posts, 69, hehe"C
TheKlockster
Did they have to close for any length of time for the bird - like for cleanup or anything?

martinb
Nicola, I agree with you about Nemesis Inferno, I absolutely love it to bits, its my favourite Thorpe park ride, but then again, is there a lame B&M Invert? -Martyn

Nrthwnd
I liked Nemesis Inferno too, Nicole. A bit better than (gasp; dare I mention it?) Nemesis, in Alton Towers! hey - it's all in what ya like, hmm? I enjoyed this, being more above ground much better than the majority of it sunk into pits and trenches. Eh... I was on the Train of Death @ Stealth. Whatta finish to the 'official last day' of Da Tour! Awesome, feathers and all. Thanks for sharing your pix and comments, Niiic.
larrygator
On Nemesis Inferno, the enthusiasm from the ride ops during ERT was above and beyond. The one girl smiled and had fun with her job and us even with Ryan trying to pound her.
niiicolaaah
^ The term "pounding" will never cease to amuse me.
DerekRx
I'd like "pounding" Ryan more if pounding was some Fresnoian slang for "kicking one to the head". I can only hope one day Ryan has a field trip to the State Correctional Facility and asks one of the inmates to pound him.
niiicolaaah
Add-On Day 1: Tusenfryd part 1 The weather was really weird that day. One second it would be cold and drizzly, the next warm enough that I would take my jacket off, then two seconds later it would get cold again. This was my first time ever in a non-English speaking country. It was kind of intimidating! I tried to be as nice and polite as possible to the people I interacted with. Still, I felt kind of out of place. Yeah, Speed Monster, whatever Except I think it wants us to die! :O In here is the coolest movie/simulator/crazy thing ever What's up with that massive support structure? You know who makes this, right?? Vekoma!! I'm serious. It's a credit. It's just a coaster that uses water as its brakes. Super Splash is a lot of fun. it goes up a lift, dips, turns around, down through a tunnel, back up, and SPLASH! Credit! "I am a credit! Ride me! You won't get wet, I promise!" Down Dave Thomas' favourite hill to SUPERSPLASH! The trains were surprisingly roomy! Paul's ride was pain free, unlike his Ghoster Coaster experience in May But first, it's time for some Teeny Weeny action. Ahh, Thunder Coaster. A fun woodie. Here's the log flume. We tried to ride it, but couldn't figure out how to get in! First ride of the day: Loopen. I braced for PAIN and DOOM, but it was smooth and painless for me!!! WTF!? Welcome to Tusen Frizzle, Git R Done!

TheKlockster
I just about fell out of my chair on that pic of James in the front of that little kiddie coaster with the subtitle "Teeny Weenie Action". Anything for the credit. Eh - if I was there I would probably do it too.
JamminJ
DUDE Teeny Weeny is the most amazing coaster ever. Its fishtail effect actually works, unlike Italian Job.. Sorry I haven't posted till now, but amazing TR so far Nicole. Still the best day yet to come..
niiicolaaah
LOL Jay. I had so much fun with you and Paul in London. But what was up with not saying goodbye to me at the airport??? You just kind of wandered away and I was like "Where did he go?!?!" hehe LOL. I could have SWORE yall were right behind me on that long ass moving walkway. Next thing I know, I turned around and I was all alone... and I was scared. Gatwick was a scary and quite depressing place... Next time I see you I'll have to start out with a 'goodbye' to make up for it!
