Hidden/Secluded Park Areas
Chroniq replied to coastercrazy 9's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
VIP rooms at the Epcot pavilions have always been a fascination of mine. The Seas features a clear acrylic grand piano. The Siemens rooms have a cutting edge board room and the land pavilion has a great view of the living with the land ride. I wish there were more articles and photo trip reports of these areas. -
Chadster's Vacation Adventures: Final Edition!

How were the tacos? Btw .. I totally don't trust the above post. Geno's East uses either Chihuahua or Great Dane queso and definitely not mozzarella. -
Fun Spot America Discussion Thread

Is there anything new in this image? Here's the ride rundown. I know funspot has been pretty open with this expansion. Any changes? -
I'm well aware .. I've been following Apple patents for years. If all of the patents had come to fruition, I'd have a phone that could project a holographic image of me in real time while I typed on my virtual 3D projected multi touch keyboard . That being said,Disney isn't a company that seems to invest in lots of R&D just for the sake of patents and IP content. Usually they patent things they actually plan on using (if not now, in the future). Good call on the second patent, though I that the Samsung and NuFormer (possibly lg) created all of that cool 3D mapping projection stuff and Disney was just using their tech. Maybe this patent is about Disney advancing the tech?

Just posting this for any engineers in the TPR world that might be able to provide speculation or insight into what these patents mean and could be used for. Here's two new Disney Parks related patents recently that I haven't found posted anywhere else yet... The first is for an Amusement Park Ride System (motion driven on a track) that can be positioned in 360 degrees. Both veritcally and horizontally.. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/20120137920.pdf The second is a projection system that appears to be able to project images in corellation with physical objects (the smiles on the faces of the Cars in the new ride?) http://www.freepatentsonline.com/20120154695.pdf

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
Chroniq replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Respect to Hershey for posting a quality pov, but I'm a bit confused after watching the two side by side.. Was the original POV sped up? If you watch them side by side the original video shows a slower lift hill but a much faster ride. -

Dear Hershey, Your marketing and social media team is amazing. You should win an "Applause award" for your viral efforts. Shoot, you probably have . The build up and time spent in developing that concept was great and really captivated the enthusiast crowd. That being said, the POV you've provided us of Sky Rush is kind of a let down. You've innovated the marketing of coasters in so many ways that to see a go pro hd camera, without after effects image stabilization and on a stock mount is kind of dissapointing. I'm just saying. Sky Rush deserves better. Your Nerdy Friend, Chris -

^ trackless interactive dark ride with choices made in the queue as well as on the ride.. Does that make it a first? -
In memory of MCA's passing, baby Bean Connolly watched his first Beastie Boys video last night. This is the result. http://youtu.be/ukMtHos_sCA

I dunno... I'm still not convinced this is actually a coaster. Looks like they are just framing out new administrative offices. -

While I'm excited that they are actually revamping the ride portion of test track to make it "futuristic" (and not just changing the queue and leaving the existing ride intact) , it seems like they are just removing the detailed, practical sets and adding flat black props covered in black light paint and lasers (that if they are anything like dinosaur, won't work in a year). I'm not sure I'm looking forward to "test track-rock n rollercoaster edition" or the more famous example of this happening, the ending of Spaceship Earth. If I saw this concept art and was told it was a new ride, I'd be looking forward to riding it . But, since I've already ridden test track, The only thing that comes to mind is a group of imagineers stoned out of their minds asking, "What if test track was a lazer tag arena?" -

Nope. The photo you are referring to is taken inside the "child-swap" area (universal's version of pin trading).. I'm guessing Universal Creative used these graphics in a rarely seen spot just to make the transformers appear slightly more friendly to the tiniest constructicons. All of the car brands remain intact and you'll even see a VW Beetle painted in Bumble Bee's colors as an homage to the original version.
