twenty twelve was a great year for us (providing it doesn't end in December)...My theme park highlight of the year, was having my 9 month old son ride his first roller coaster in Canada (at Marine Land as we are terrible parents). Other highlights included another amazing TPR trip (Leviathon), Riding a Schwarzkopf with RD (pretty sure he orgasmed during it), Losing my iPhone during ERT on Nitro and getting it back an hour later (Thanks!), Late night lobby parties, amazing trips with close friends to Dollywood and Epcot and seeing old friends and meeting new ones.. What were your 2012 highlights?

Most. OverRated. Ride. of 2012.
Chroniq replied to Chroniq's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not sure if I posted on this since it is now actually 2012... For me the most overrated new ride that I've had the chance to experience is Leviathan.. I love a good B&M hyper and I've ridden some of the highest rated ones in the world, but during my initial ride, I assumed the end of the ride was the mid course break run..... That being said, Canada's Wonderland was easily my favorite park of 2012. The ride mix, staff, cleanliness, and atmosphere makes me want to visit again as soon as possible.. It's now my favorite cedar fair park... chris " but seriously, behemoth is a better coaster" con -
Right. So do they own distribution rights? Looks like Fox owns the distribution rights to all future Star Wars sequels till the end of time (Note: my sources are a 5 minute cursory internet search)...That being said, Disney purchased the Avengers distribution rights for $115 M from Paramount after purchasing Marvel. I'm not so sure Star Wars distribution rights will come that cheaply, but Iger isn't scared of throwing money around. Other franchises.. They are all different.. The "Howard The Duck sequel" distro option with Universal has expired.. Hopefully Disney immediately green lights this.

^Have you seen Avengers? Disney is "killing it" when it comes to producing quality content from existing franchises. If the last indy film or the star wars prequel is any indication, these franchises are in better hands.. On a separate note, wouldn't it be cool if Disney announced they were going to re theme Hollywood Studios as the "Worlds of Marvel & Lucas"? There is A LOT of potential here.. -chris "would love to see Disney announce something like this in the near future " con

^ILM is part of the deal.." Under the deal, Disney will acquire ownership of Lucasfilm, a leader in entertainment, innovation and technology, including its massively popular and "evergreen" Star Wars franchise and its operating businesses in live action film production, consumer products, animation, visual effects, and audio post production. Disney will also acquire the substantial portfolio of cutting-edge entertainment technologies that have kept audiences enthralled for many years. Lucasfilm, headquartered in San Francisco, operates under the names Lucasfilm Ltd., LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, and Skywalker Sound, and the present intent is for Lucasfilm employees to remain in their current locations"

Chadster's Vacation Adventures: Final Edition!

I know you aren't a fan, but your photos make me feel like this place is loaded with potential if it had crowds and atmosphere. That and the LED lighting package on iron shark and the star flyer is just sick. -
Always excited to see TPR be there on the bleeding edge of new ride introductions... A couple questions for those that have visited.. How is the little mermaid different from DCA? What's the interactive queue like?.. I've never ridden either, but I'm interested in hearing everyones' take on it. The Beauty & the beast section looks incredibly themed and a great foodie experience for our family, but does it offer anything for families without young children?
