TPR Facebook Page Cover Photo Contest
Chroniq replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The idea behind this image was to create a strong iconic image that uses TPR's design language and colors while playing on the idea, "What if Theme Park Review manufactured roller coasters?". -chris "yes I realize it kind of misses the fun aspect of TPR" con -
TPR Facebook Page Cover Photo Contest
Chroniq replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
First try. Yes I realize this is an image of a roller coaster which kind of goes against the contest rules. But; I love the idea of one vibrant, artistic, single image that resonates in your mind (especially if it isn't mine) over a slide show . -chris "always has an opinion" con -
I've never thought of this before, but you are totally correct. Animal Kingdom has Yak & Yeti MGM has Brown Derby Epcot has a number of great restaurants. Magic Kingdom has? Tony's? We ate there once and were thoroughly disappointed. Disney is leaving money on the table by not having an awesome in-park restaurant at Magic Kingdom. -chris "at least we can jump on the monorail and eat at some of Disney's best restaurants" connolly

Is Hollywood Drive-In Golf a third party vendor? . Huge respect to them for using social media correctly. I love when a company communicates with their customers and answers questions or responds to concerns. I look forward to playing a couple rounds next time I'm there. chris "they are doing it right" con

As some of you may know, I recently won (with Nicole) the 2012 edition of Where in the World are Robb & Elissa. I've been fortunate enough to win a couple of these contests before, but was floored when my BOC arrived earlier this week. To call it a box of crap would not be doing it justice as it's a pretty amazing prize. This got me thinking; "This prize deserves the price is right/showcase showdown treament". Chadster's Vacation Adventures: Final Edition!
Chroniq replied to chadster's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Looks like a fun, little, family park. Great pics as always Chad. Happy to see a lot of familiar faces smiling on this photo trip report. -
Interestingly enough, even the company isn't sure what the theoretical capacity is. If you go to their website (which of course only loads correctly with internet explorer. a terrible sign), The products page lists it at 100 rafts x4 people per hour http://www.polin.com.tr/eng/productdetail.aspx?id=71 Yet their online catalog lists it at 120 rafts x4 people per hour.http://www.polin.com.tr/ebook/waterslides/ 1 raft every 30 seconds? really? -chris "thinks they might just be pulling numbers out of a hat" connolly

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
Chroniq replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Via Screamscape- It looks like they are already building out the "xpass queues" at Epcot. I find it interesting that the first 2 attractions that they are working on to implement xpass (spaceship earth and the seas with nemo) are not actual fast pass rides. This brings up a few questions 1. Does Disney plan on implementing the XPass system on every single attraction at every park? 2. Will these rides now offer fastpass as well? 3. Is this just a fluke to test out the system on high capacity rides before integrating it into the fastpass system? 4. Will resort guests be able to use both Xpass and Fast Pass? In theory you could prebook all of your xpasses for late in the afternoon/night (the same way some people are using the system now) and then just use fastpasses in the morning. If so- ALL YOUR FASTPASS ARE BELONG TO US. -

If that is your actual mentality before you walk into guest services, I can see why the outcome wasn't to your liking. -chris "wonders why anyone would like to "smack around" a cast member while they are visiting "the happiest place on earth""connolly -

Ratuso- Clearly we won't be able to sway your opinion.. This debate could go on for days, but I think we've covered all of the bases at this point. -chris "Is looking forward to seeing how this plays out" connolly P.S. Tim Freeman- I've had great luck with guest services addressing any issues I've ever had. Small talk and a smile works wonders. P.P.S. This is honestly the most asinine argument I've ever seen on TPR. People are pissed because they can't "work" the system anymore. Be happy that you were able to work it for ten years. Figure out a new system if that's your thing. I'll be at Disney with an infant this year, and we'll make it work by following the rules. -

That's because our group is filled with intelligent, sensible people. This is what makes TPR different from all of those other boards. The only valid argument I see here against the change is that some people might miss a fast pass time due to a fault by Disney (slow restaurant service, ride breakdown, incorrect queue time). If any of those things happen to a guest and they don't get consideration from front line cast members then all they have to do is walk over to guest services and they'll get on the ride. Case closed. -
I agree. I love learning about all of these different places via google. This was easily the best Where in the World that I've participated in. Lots of "deep" clues, a bunch of red herrings, and South East Asia is an area I really didn't know anything about. Thanks again to Robb for doing this and everyone that participated.

Based upon what I can see on the hub (disney's internal messaging site for cast members), this change is only for Disney World and doesn't affect Disneyland (yet?) . -
^Yeah every single clue leads me to believe that they are going to windows of the world in china... Followed by world joyland.. angry birds (the attraction. size matters (the miniatures they have there)photos of towers (they have them there) photos of taipei 101(the only miniature they don't have there) , the previous photo of the knock off mythos at world joyland... the china airline.. the bank of china logo.why do I still think they are going to Trans Studios tomorrow? I guess I'm jaded.

Have you ever been to Disney? On any given day, you'll see groups of people crowding the FP return line waiting for their time. Self entitled people will be pissed about this change. Regular people will just follow the rules.
