Oh.. I probably should have explained this post better.. I scaled both areas to exact size using precise lat/long coordinates (and a tape measure I found in a dumpster), which is the top photo.. After scaling, mirroring & inverting, I realized that POTCOT fits perfectly in the previously rumored areas of construction (and also looks like a penis).I basically wasted all this time because there has been banter on the tubes about how much space Potter California Adventure will take up and how it will be laid out. I'd say this is a pretty good (handsome & well educated) guess. -christian "give me a break.. It's monday" con

After reading an article this evening at ThemeParkInsider discussing the possible location and layout of Harry's House of Horrors, I decided to waste way too much time and create these graphics. After hours of scientific research, migraines from wearing safety glasses, and consultation with fifth graders on how to do basic math, I came up with an actual, to scale, the earth is flat layout of the existing Potter property and perhaps the position of the of the previously pointed out place. Dirty jokes, digressed. I definitely deem this layout and design decided. Thousands of hours were spent and many lives were lost creating this rudimentary (but scientifically accurate) photoshop Just so I could draw a penis.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
Chroniq replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Fast Track Pass? Respect to Hershey for not wasting time with focus groups and advertising executives while picking the name for their line skipping offering. Instead, they just went to Epcot and listened to the general public talk about their day. -
Nemesis - really only 3gs?
Chroniq replied to caffeine_demon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the confusion lies with the fact that Nemesis: Inferno is 4G LTE, while the older Nemesis is HSPA+ . -
I've never been to Universal during the most peak times but, from what I've seen during my travels, the current system works very well. From a hotel guest perspective- I stay at one of the Universal hotels solely for this benefit... This is Universal's trump card. For an upcharge Universal Express pass person- I ride all the rides once that might have lines. From a person who doesn't fall into either category- I don't feel like I'm waiting a longer to ride since the universal express pass queues rarely have lines. I love q-bot, but I don't really see what benefit it would provide Universal. The only way I see this helping Universal's bottom line is if there is a huge Harry Potter following that would pay for an express pass/q-bot simply so they could ride Harry Potter over and over again. Oh $hit, there probably is a market for that. Otherwise q-bot is just a complicated, revenue grabbing layer, that Universal doesn't need.... -Chris "I still love you q-bot, please return my phonecalls" Con

Skycoastin' Steve's 2012 Season Extravaganza!!
Chroniq replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Not sure when you last made a trip to Pigeon Forge, but I'd have to respectfully disagree. The Nascar Speedpark go-karts are relatively tame compared to the others you'll find on the strip. After a scientific study was completed that included many hours of go-kart racing, it's been proven as a fact that the "slick course" featuring forty mile per hour go-karts at Speed Zone is definitely the best go-kart track. Trust me, TPR members nearly lost their lives in spectacular fashion coming to this conclusion. Check it out next time you are in the area... Chris's recipe for awesome go karts. Take a handful of 40 mphs Go-karts Add an oval track that is completely to small and short for karts that have that power. Dust track with boxes of baby powder to ensure you'll have absolutely no grip. Add a handful of head on collisions, spin outs and neard death experiences. Heat at 40mph for 7 minutes. Enjoy! -

Great trip report Steve. Your photos are vastly superior to mine. If I could give a bit of constructive criticism though, I would have liked to see more photos of the tram credits as well as hot tub sex. -

The Mysterious B&M Green Wingrider Track
Chroniq replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Figured I'd share this very "grain of salt" rumor. This weekend there were three B&M engineers monitoring Wild Eagle on Friday & Saturday. I'm sure this is probably common practice on opening day, though the safety gates that are working in Wild Eagle's POV are currently broken and two security guards stand at the front of the station to prevent anyone from plummeting to their death. Anyway- during one ride where they were just socializing and not monitoring their laptops, I went up to them and thanked them for the great ride. After a few pleasantries, I asked them when we would see another new wing rider in the US (after x-flight and wild eagle). The person who appeared to be the lead responded with "oh! soon!". Some of the conversation was lost in translation and the station loading was loud, so I can't say with absolute certainty they understood what I was saying, but I'll just put this out there. -
Thanks for the report Adam. You answered a few questions I had that I couldn't find anywhere else (I.E.- if the interactive queue for Dumbo was opened yet and if they built the xpass queue lines into the rides). From the photos I've viewed so far; the craftmanship looks to be significantly above Toon Town, but I haven't seen anything that really impresses yet.

^NCL has become the "upsell" cruise... Enjoy coca cola? Well generic coke is free but we'll happily sell you a bottle of the real stuff. Like in cabin dining? We've got you covered as long as you are ok with hamburgers and pizza, though we do have an expansive menu of food choices for you to pay for. For any of you NCL fans out there, I used to be a prolific poster on cruisecritic.com vouching for the quality of the brand. I'm thinking the only thing that would make a trip on the Epic better than this cruise would be the newer facilities and improved state rooms. . -chris "and the epic is easily the ugliest cruise ship built in the past decade" con

Personally, I think that's a great idea. -
TPR Facebook Page Cover Photo Contest
Chroniq replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I completely agree with the idea that a dynamic changing image (like your idea) would keep the FB page current, interesting, and convey the TPR fun well; I just think it will be a lot of work for the tpr admins to be constantly changing a photoshop. I may be wrong, but I think the entire idea of this contest is to pick a static image. Regarding branding-I've always felt that if you are on the FB page then you are familiar with the brand. I'm probably wrong chris "and actually the font looks better bolded. I commented on an earlier design" con -

^I Love Rides- I've always been a fan of your design work, but kind of hate the font choice. Otherwise, nice work. I also wonder if Robb wants an image with the option to insert new photos, then why not just pick a new photo every week? -
