  1. Something's just not right yet. C'mon, someone post something negative about it so we can call it official. Anyway, now I'm really looking forward to a September visit even more!
  2. I think it's "overrated" only in the sense that the NFL obviously inflates projected numbers. Otherwise, I don't believe there's ever any downside to hosting the game, especially if "smaller" northern cities like Indianapolis or Detroit can somehow persuade people to visit in the dead of winter. And for the heavyweights like SoCal and Miami (which really equates to Dade and Broward counties), while the article is correct in assuming most of the hotel and restaurant revenue will find its way to corporate rather than staying in town, the real benefit of hosting the game is felt with both small businesses and the service industry as a whole (waiters, valets, bartenders, etc., etc.). I can tell you first hand that I made a killing back in the day during the couple times that the game was in town. My favorite instance was when a "friend of a friend" at the golf club I worked at asked me if I was interested in driving their limo to the game and then around South Beach afterwards. It was extremely short notice, and they were willing to pay $3,000 for the night. I would have jumped on it had A) I had any kind of experience driving a limo....especially around the tight, crowded streets of SoBe, and B) the client not been deeply associated with a certain well known crime family. Even so, I still did pretty well that week, so I could never vote against hosting the game.
  3. I'm not sure what the plans will be for the Dome, but like others mentioned, it's all about wooing the Super Bowl and the BCS Championship Game, once the new format kicks in. Yep, which is why Miami is already urgently pushing for upgrades to Joe Robbie Stadium....
  4. That's because we'd be discussing how poorly Karnival would have handled it, and how they probably would have treated their passengers like crap...not that the actual virus found its way on board. There's a difference.
  5. Honestly, now would be a really good time to start with no special events or random craziness. It's a fun game, and if you like the Simpsons it's a really fun game. Okay, sure...why not! TPRScott
  6. No room for a Washing Machine, but I think it's been scaled down to a Swiffer.
  7. ^ So no washing machine?? What about a dryer? Dry cleaner perhaps? I need to know.
  8. ^ Psst....it was a joke, not an actual critique. You know I can't actually see into the future right? Well, except that Alton starts manufacturing taller trees to combat the building codes. Sssshh, keep it on the down low though. Anyway, back on topic. The track is very twisty, and there's gonna be a washing machine or something, which reminds me I need to wash the whites when I get home.
  9. ^ Although I hope it does. That looks amazing!
  10. Great report, Chuck! Loved every bit of it!
  11. Awesome! Loved the look at Kyoto, as it's the top spot in Japan I'd like to visit one day. Keep the goodness coming!
  12. I see the future, so I'll help you out on this one. In no specific order: - "It's the best rolly coaster on earth!!1!" - "It sucks." - "It's not bad, but I think Alton Towers overhyped it." Wash, rinse, repeat.
  13. No, they're just guesstimating. SFA should have trademarked this years ago.
  14. Silver lining - this is a win for my beloved Key West. Anytime you can reduce the amount of trash on the island, it's a good thing.
  15. ^ That post is both wonderful and tragic at the same time.
  16. I'll be honest. I feel good about myself and the fact that I couldn't name or identify any of the elements already mentioned. It does look pretty good though.
  17. That's where anyone who gives this thing a stupid nickname like "Gatey" or "Keepy" will be swallowed up for eternity.
  18. I kind of got the urge to start playing this, although I feel I'm seriously late to the party.
  19. ^ That's a solid choice. And yeah, I'll continue to refer to it as the F70. "LaFerrari is the worst name in the history of Automobiles. It immediately reminded me of the horrible "Le Car" from back in the day.
  20. ^ Well, it's widespread for sure, but it always reminds me of them the most.
  21. Don't be like Cedar Point fanboys. Please.
  22. ^ Dave, surely this one passes as well, right? [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
