  1. Wow, that illustration was really pretty. Pointless, that is. In fact, someone's got WAY too much time on their hands. Seriously, to the author of that fine work of art.....GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!! It's summer. The weather's warm. There are plenty of other things to do than fantasize and theorize about CP's next coaster. Go donate your time to a local charity or something. Put all the effort to good use. Okay, end rant. Sorry 'bout that. Scott "Is it just me, or does this thread bounce back and forth from hilarious to making you never wanna visit Cedar Point ever again? " B.
  2. LOL. Don't shoot, Wes. All of a sudden this place has more polls than a strip joint! Next poll: Favorite trash receptacles.
  3. ^Yeah, ya know I've always wondered how it would stand up to what Mt. Olympus has to offer? See folks, just one more reason to visit and support Boomers....so I'll never have to start a "Save the Dania Beach Hurricane" effort.
  4. ^^ Yep, I'm serious. It's been awhile, so I can't remember for sure, but I think it used to be two tracks...and then they combined it into one huge one. Someone help me if I'm wrong there?
  5. ^Yeah, if i remember right, it was once the world's longest go-cart track. Not sure if that's still the case, but you do only get one lap, so that tells you something about how big it is.
  6. Glad you loved it, man. It's certainly not Palm Beach or Miami. The other two are debatable. I say Lauderdale....but that's just me. I'm curious, do they still have any chaser lights working around the lift hill area? "we heart maintenance!" - I love it! Scott "go ride it, people" B.
  7. One of those wouldn't be LaSpada's would it? I picked other because I'd find a good local sub joint if possible.
  8. Yo momma's so stupid, she put a ruler next to her bed to see how long she slept.
  9. Nice job on the pics, Ted. It's scary to think of all the ammo Barry now has for the "What's up with this?" threads.
  10. I second that. I'll also add Nitro's lift hill. The sound of that appeals to me for some odd reason. As for the worst....hmm, I'll say the screeching sound of Wicked Twister launching. Ouch.
  11. Let's all hope Disney never grows tired of Mickey.
  12. What, the names have changed?
  13. I'll go with the "Dark Continent" on this one. Why? The best collection of Beemers in one park. Throw in Gwazi and Scorpion (Joe, where's your love for Anton? Thought that would sway your vote), the great animal exhibits, good park food, the year-round operating schedule, and overall excellent atmosphere, and that's why it's better than Europe. Oh yeah, don't forget, it doesn't hurt that it's a relatively short drive to Orlando either.
  14. In a feeling of somewhat selfish vindication, someone's signature made me smile a bit today.
  15. The 2 Live Crew may beg to differ. "Bubble Toes" - Jack Johnson
  16. Good point. If this were all about comfort, I'd 100% agree with your bottom two pics. Wow, that makes me think.... I really need to get to Dollywood soon. Millennium Flyers are tough to beat.
  17. I've got a couple each of SFOG and SFNE to trade. I'm up for any of the others if anyone's interested.
  18. Oh yeah, how could I forget Phoenix? They're in the team-stealing city list too. It makes me wonder if the Gretzkys took Carolina in this one? As for the ^^ post, well, to each his own. I'm a purist, and that's just how it is. Overall, the game has suffered from numerous changes which have occured since the ex-NBA moron took office. From glowing pucks to netting around the rinks, multiple lockouts to tainted cups, watered down overexpansion to shootouts, cheerleaders to mascots.....it is simply a carnival for the "Cleaver" family to attend these days. Give me the drunk, glass-banging construction worker-types of the Boston Garden who showed up to watch a game - not catch a free t-shirt from some bimbo with an over-enthusiastic smile between periods. That's when hockey was still a great game....IMHO, as always. Scott "at least the playoff beards are still a tradition" B.
  19. It is Intamin, afterall. I looked it up...Intamin is Swiss/German for "never opens on time."
  20. I'd like to personally thank Gary Bettman for continuing to screw up this great game just a little bit more with each season that goes by. Tampa, and now Carolina....please. To the great people of Hartford....although I am a lifetime Bruins fan, and therefore hated the burger king whalers, I still feel for you all tonight. Perhaps you can call up the folks from Quebec City (yep, hated them too....anyone from the Adams for that matter), and Minnesota, and get together and have a beer and console each other. Gary Bettman should apologize to each and every former season ticket holder from the aforementioned cities. Although my beloved Bruins haven't won the Cup since I've been on this earth, I sympathize with each of you who've had to endure losing your team only to see a group of newbie bandwagon fans celebrate a Cup victory in your team's new residence. Carolina, Tampa Bay, Anahiem, Florida, Columbus, Atlanta (didn't that fail the first time around?), and for the love of GOD....freakin' NASHVILLE!?! Expansion and team-stealing cities have ruined what was once a grand game. I'd be remiss if I didn't say I was sorry for Canada too. Sounds strange coming from a true redblooded American, but the last two years I've been pulling for the small market Canadian teams to bring Lord Stanley's Cup back to a better home. Okay, end rant, I guess. Sorry, it just sucks to see your favorite sport and favorite league go down the drain. The only small consolation or saving grace from tonight is watching Glen Wesley hold the Cup. Scott "Long live the original 6" B.
  21. 1st Place: 2nd Place: 3rd Place: Honorable mentions: And this one as seen here, before the "flying death pieces" were removed:
  22. I've ridden: Kraken, Dominator, Batman:Dark Night, and Medusa (east). I'd rank 'em like this... 1. Kraken - Possibly the best overall layout for a floorless design. Every element seems to flow seemlessly, and the intensity is heightened by scenic trenches and the waterfall cave. Oh yeah, it has the perfect zero-g roll too. 2. Dominator (B:KF when I rode it) - I loved the speed on this one. The first drop was incredible heading into the HUGE vertical loop. The turns over the water and queue parts, and the subsequent turnaround over the building portion carried great speed, which I loved. Just a really great layout, minus the zero-g that Kraken has. 3. Batman:The Dark Knight - I really liked this one alot. It felt like the B:TR clone equivalent for the floorless design....you know, short and sweet. It had great pacing, and just the right package of all the classic B&M elements....good drop, loop, zero-g, corkscrews, etc. 4. Medusa (east) - All in all, this one's pretty much right there with the others. It's a close race between the 4. I guess the only knocks I have against Medusa are the hideous colors, and the MCBR. Yes, I know Kraken has one too. I just think Medusa's takes away a bit more from the ride than Kraken's does. With all that said, I have always wanted to ride what I think may be better than all of them....S:KC. It's ashame it's in Texas. Don't ask me why, I just have no desire to visit Texas for anything other than SF parks and Schlitterbahn (sp?)....and that won't cut it, so therefore Superman will have to wait. And to those who say floorless is a gimmick, I say... Yes, I'll even take the much-maligned Hydra any day of the week.
  23. Count me out on that one. In fact, I consider him a magician. His popularity boggles my mind, and therefore he is simply magical for creating a fanbase...not comedic (IMHO, of course). Scott "at least I crack myself up" B.
  24. Since the first episode aired last night, I figured a thread on this would be inevitable at some point in time, right? So who's playing along online, who's hooked already, who's got a guess as to what and where the "treasure" is, and who could care less (to be fair, I guess)? I'll go ahead and say that if the ex-CIA or Air Force teams don't finish 1st/2nd, then there's something wrong.
