  1. Great pics, Erik! It's sort of a shame that most guests don't get to experience the water parks due to the sheer amount of other stuff crammed into a WDW vacation. These pics are by far the best promotion for folks to make time for BB on your next visit. And considering this recent report..... ...perhaps there's more on the way?
  2. This thread might help you out a bit: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26732&highlight=disney+hotels&sid=ff0bf29b73be3d238c601c8cf882cb7b Personally, considering you'll have a five year old with you, I'd say the Animal Kingdom Lodge is your best bet. Your little brother should love the animals that roam the savanne. In fact, you'll all love the place. It's incredible.
  3. I'd have to agree that Efteling is stunning. I had never really seen it before, and now I'm very impressed. After that, I'd go with DCA, TDS, Sea World Orlando, and yes, SFNE.
  4. Are you a former Cedar Point employee?

  7. For what it's worth, I clicked "show results" and got nothing.
  8. That'll be Lisa Nowak's new job.
  9. Are enthusiasts too critical? Sure. Sometimes. In general though, think about what the coaster world would be like if the 10,000 online coaster sites didn't exist. It's a fact that many of the industry's top players peruse the boards from time to time. While we (enthusiasts) aren't directly responsible for every new installation out there, our opinions are somewhat valuble as a barometer for what's hot and what's not. If companies like GCI, Gravity Group, etc. didn't ever have any true feedback, we may have seen TOGO take over the world. Okay, sure, that's an exageration, but the point still stands. The more reputable and experienced posters out there are able to give true and accurate accounts for everyone alike. Whether it's a family of four debating on how to spend their Orlando vacation, or a park's PR person stopping by to check our reactions to their newest coaster, our critical opinions are invaluble to everyone's decision making in some sense.
  10. Okay, I'll bite. Robert DeNiro to his young son in A Bronx Tale: "Remember, the saddest thing in the world is wasted talent." and Jack Nicholson's character (who was an author) in As Good As It Gets. When asked, "how do you write women so well?" his response was, "I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability."
  11. Speaking of conspiracy theories, my favorite so far is this: She killed herself because she couldn't handle the fact that her son was the true father of her child. On a serious note, I agree with ginzo. Paris Hilton is a nuisance. Anna Nicole was just a blonde bimbo. BIG difference. It's a shame she couldn't have surrounded herself with better people who may have been able to right the ship long ago. This really is a sad story.
  12. Thank you. Indeed, I still count my lucky stars for that experience. To top it all off, a few of us on set got to sit and chat with Ving Rhames during a break in shooting. I even got him to reenact the Pulp Fiction scene with him and Bruce Willis....."In the fifth, your a$$ goes down." Really cool guy. Would've made for a great Photo TR. Anyway, sorry to stray. Back on topic.
  13. ^ That song always reminds me of the movie Striptease. I was an extra in the opening scene of that movie, and got to watch Demi Moore strip less than five feet from me for four days straight. No, she didn't dance to that particular song, but one of the other dancers did; which just reminds me of that truly demanding four day job.
  14. Just a little more Disney news for you all to ponder. Hmmmm, interesting.
  15. Yeah, I guess that would be pretty ambitious considering the park times, etc. After I posted, I looked a little further, and noticed you used Nagoya as a "base camp." That clearly makes me rethink things. I was just using Google Earth to map things out and get a perspective on where things were in relation to each other, but for the life of me, I couldn't find PE anywhere! It was driving me nuts. The reason I was wondering about day trips from the Tokyo area is because that's where our timeshare would be located. And since we'd have that at our disposal, I just figured it would make sense to see how many places were actually doable as day trips, in order to make the most use out of the accomodations. However, since I planned on visiting Kyoto for the cherry blossom festivals (April/May), it probably makes more sense to possibly fly into Osaka, stay in the Kyoto area first, and maybe hit up either Spaland or PE while we're out that way before heading to Tokyo. Anyway, thanks. I appreciate the tips.
  16. I didn't realize we were still sending primates into space.
  17. ^^ That works for me, too.
  18. Honestly, I'm usually not one for political debate, but If I choose to run for office in '08, I'll be pushing my new military plan. It goes a bit like this.... The government evidently feels the need to send hundreds of thousands of soldiers to "defend our freedom" in Iraq? I say, no problem. The answer is right next door. They're called illegals. You wanna live in the US and mooch off the system? Try defending it first. Well, hey, what better way to prove you deserve, and truely want to live here, than letting good ole Uncle Sam suit you up for deployment. And just like every other hard working current American soldier (and yes, I understand they currently volunteer), you too could enjoy the luxuries of living in freedom on American soil if you're able to dodge a year or two worth of roadside and suicide bombings, random gunfire, and the ever popular "friendly fire" in the lovely craphole of the world known as Iraq. Just horde 'em together, teach 'em English, give 'em a gun, and let 'em walk the streets of Baghdad with an American flag on their arm. Then we'll see how much they want the "American Dream." Not to sound too racist here, but most of the illegals are already willing to work crap jobs, live in crap conditions, and take whatever the government hands out to them anyway, right? Well, here's your chance to do it legally! Scott "Just my two cents. And that's all I'm willing to add to this." B.
  19. Pete, I've got a few quick questions too if you don't mind me hijacking your thread. We're in preliminary research of a possible Japan trip, and our plans are similiar to yours. Where is Parque Espana in relation to Spaland? If Spaland is really only a half day park, is it possible to combine PE (Pyrenees is of prime importance to me, obviously) with NS in the same day? And if that's the case, is it safe to assume this could all be done in a day trip from the Tokyo area? To me, from everything I've seen from those two parks, we wouldn't exactly go there wanting to be immersed in either one, but wouldn't exactly wanna be running around on a credit whoring mission either if you get what I mean. Thanks.
  20. FAMU marching band > any other college band. EDIT: Oh yeah, Prince rocked. Booo to the haters.
  21. You. And the T-shirt post card thing actually looks pretty cool to me.
  22. Larry Cszonka
  23. ^ It's the only one I've ridden, and it's pretty good, IMHO. I like to call it "Magnum, done right."
