  1. I'm going to the park tomorrow to ride the I.R. I've got a gold pass. Is there a special early entry line for gold pass and if so how early? Also what rides are available for early entry?
  2. I noticed that, in the second lot, there is a massive Toyota logo, just siting in the middle. Cars can park on it, but it just looks weird. That's all that left of this. The "test track" was quite complex and took up a lot of valuable parking space.
  3. Tonight I just saw the Toyota commercial filmed at MM earlier this month. Toyota took over most of the second parking lot for their "test track." It was good seeing Colossus and Goliath in the background of this commercial. I wish I was in LA instead of working in Houston right now.
  4. ^ Demon Drop is painful. It's just as bad at Dorney as it was at Cedar Point. Lex is tall, smooth and definitely not painful!
  5. Just a great day to be at KD. Temps were cool upper 60's / low 70's. I don't think the G.P. knows that "Timmy" is open again. I was on the first dispatched train for the General Public (GP). No lines all day for it, but they made you walk around. In 4 hours I got 14 rides on Timmy. Welcome back to this ride.
  6. ^ I've experienced both situations. Before the fix on the restraints, the "vest" would clamp down on you and your collarbone during the ride. If you're skinny (like me) it became painful, especially waiting to get into the station. Now the "vest" doesn't tighten during the ride making it enjoyable. Plus without the restraints not tightening, you get more "float time" too.
  7. Perfect timing... I'll be riding "Timmy" tomorrow morning! I can't wait... I'm already nearby at my hotel in Ashland. I couldn't see the park / ride from southbound I95.
  8. ^^ I hope you're right! I'm working this week in DC, and I'm going to Kings Dominion on Saturday. I hope Timmy is up and running. The weather is supposed to break from all this heat.
  9. I agree, the Golden Ticket awards are a joke! No way is C.P. the best or even near the top. The same can be said for Millie too.
  10. I was at the Mountain today. The crane was still working on X2 until about 2pm, and then pulled off. I couldn't see if it was still by the ride. As a gold pass member I got in extra early today - 15 minutes instead of the normal 10. That got me 3 early YOLO rides before the stampede came in and I moved on. It was quite a cooker weather - wise today. I definitely sweated off a few pounds. Other than X2, everything was running, but some rides with minimal staff.
  11. ^ Amen brother... Although, I'm not a big fan of SkyRush, but the airtime is definitely there.
  12. I disagree, it gets more credit than it deserves. It's just okay IMO. It's voted in the top 5 steel every year. It's overrated. There are a lot better rides out there. I used to really love it, but times and rides change.
  13. The park is closed today and tomorrow. I drove by and noticed a big crane (with 2 guys in a basket) at the top of the hill on X2. I'm guessing they're doing some welding, because there was a guy "hosing down" the hill nearby to prevent a fire. Obviously trying to get X2 back up.
  14. ^ Yes, you are correct, but it depends on the time of year too.
  15. "Millie" has been delivering "meh" rides for quite sometime (multiple years) IMO. I used to ride in the last row, but too many laterals over the past few years. I've found I get more airtime in the middle or more towards the front. Bugs stop me from riding the front.
  16. Yes, "Pocky" is running again with 1 train. The other is in on the maintenance track. Fire was working yesterday (Sunday), but not this morning.
  17. At the season pass processing there were only 5 people ahead of me. I bought online, so they scanned the bar code and took my picture and I was off. That last hour at Goliath, was a walk straight up to the platform and a max 3 train wait. They were running 2 trains. I guess #3 is off site since I didn't see it.
  18. Are normal 2014 passes on sale yet? I know they usually come out during Fright Fest time All 2014 season passes are available online since Friday. I got mine online and as I said processed within 25 minutes including another picture.
  19. I just came back from a quick visit to the Mountain. I processed my Gold 2014 season pass in less than 30 minutes today. I bought it online yesterday. They still want to take a new picture of you. Also the only ride listed on the not operating board was X2. So I'm guessing "Pocky" aka Apocalypse is running again. I didn't go back since I only had an hour before the park closed tonight. I got 6 on Goliath.
  20. I've been watching, but not noticed any posts on "pocky" aka: Apocalypse. Have they reopened this ride??? I really hope so, since I'm coming from South Florida today to ride at "The Mountain." It's my #3 wood.
  21. It's now Labor Day weekend. Is I305 running now as rumored?
  22. Anyone see it testing today? Or even better yet with riders? Was trying to go tomorrow, this would be a nice surprise. El Toro has reopened. Just in time for Riding of the Bull Cinco next Saturday. This will be the first one I miss. I've been at all 4! I'm heading to LA for WCB instead.
  23. ^ Aren't all the trains gold? I'm not a GateKeeper expert. Maybe I'm missing something...
  24. Wow lots of big name coasters down all over the country. Magic Mountain - X2 & "Pocky" 6 Flags Great Adventure - El Toro Kings Dominion - Intimidator 305 What's going on??? Is this some secret government program to limit our fun before the end of summer? That Obama...
  25. I'm not sure which train I was on this morning, but I was in row 2 left outside seat and the vest clamped down on me. Nothing like some pain first thing in the morning on my first ride for early entry. By the way there are 3 trains not 2.
