Cowabunga Bay waterpark
linearinduction replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I think Skittles would be a better Choice. Shane, all of those different colors will really make the place "POP!" I can't imagine any kid, young or old, not being attracted to Cowabunga Bay because of all the color. I do have to say that my favorite color combo slide will be the Red, Orange, Yellow, Black, and White ones. - Sid -

Shane and Fellow TPR Members, I ran down to the Construction Site Saturday afternoon and snapped a bunch of Photos. There's not a whole lot to look at, but I think I covered it sufficiently. I posted the Photos in my Blog located here: Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog *Note* All Photos were taken Outside the Construction Fence. - Sid -

Finally let the Cat out of the Bag Shane? It's about Time! We've only been discussing this over on the LagoonisFun.com Forums for a while now. I can't wait for In-N-Out and Cowabunga Bay! What a Combo! Oddly enough, those photos look just like the ones on LagoonisFun.com and the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog...I wonder why? P.S. Shane, would you like a Copy of my Cowabunga Bay Logo on LiF? I think Mine Looks Better! -

Thank You For all of Your Hard Work Shane! Keep it Coming! - Sid -
Cliffhanger/Riptide is a Mondial Splashover, Psyclone a Mondial Revolution, and Shockwave a Mondial Top Scan. From what I have observed in video clips, Cliffhanger/Riptide operates much better than Cliffhanger at Lagoon, the only other Mondial Splashover in Operation. Lagoon's Cliffhanger is not Operated to it's Full Potential. Shockwave is also operated much better, for the most part, than Samurai at Lagoon, the only other Park Model Top Scan in North America. However, Cycle 6 on Samurai definitely pwnes any cycle on Shockwave.

No, S&S Opened Celebration Centre in Logan, Utah in 2006. -Sid -
Having Operated and been a Supervisor on Rattlesnake Rapids at Lagoon, an Intamin River Rapids Ride, I highly doubt it would take 45 Minutes to Fill the Trough. RSR is 1/3 of a Mile long, drops 60ft, has three 256,000 Horsepower Pumps capable of pumping 106,000 Gallons a Minute, has a Capacity of 1.2 Million Gallons of Water, and can Fill Up to the correct Water Level in 5 Minutes. If a Boat/Raft gets stuck on a Weir (Pipe or Object that creates the Rapid), it is possible for the first surge of water to capsize a Boat/Raft. It's much safer to evacuate the ride than risk someone being injured. I also like the Rails in that Lake that keep the Boats elevated from the bottom of the trough. - Sid

Each Side of the Tower is an Independent Ride System, Only this "Side" or Ride System was affected by the cable break. I'm sure the park inspected the other Ride Systems/Cables before re opening the attraction. - Sid -
One last ride for Doppel Looping.
linearinduction replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That NL Video is actually Fire Dragon @ Lagoon as it has the Additional Trackway Curve in the Second Carousel. Here is a Video of the Doppel Looping in Question. Yoshi, It's Too bad Dorney doesn't run Laser as good as Lagoon Does. But still, it would be a shame if Laser was Removed. - Sid -

The Heart Breaker ride is just like this ride http://youtube.com/watch?v=jGeDaSMlnes but with a differant name ~Matthew The Heartbreaker ride is actually a Mondial........Heartbreaker. hahahaha Pretty Cool Fair to have a Mondial Top Scan, Shake, and Heartbreaker all in one place! Too Bad they don't have an Ultra Max too! Great Photo TR as well! I totally agree with TheRapidsNerd, Damn Cute Couple! Rawr! -
Height requirments for flat rides
linearinduction replied to bspellx5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just want to point out that Huss changed their minnimun height requirement for their enterprise for the 2006 season. It changed from 48 to 54 inches. I work at Lake Compounce, and telling the kids that they were not tall enough, when they were the year before, was very difficult to deal with. I am not sure why Huss changed the height requirement. I find it interesting that the Centennial Screamer at Lagoon, which is a Huss Enterprise, has had an "Under 46" May Not Ride" Height Restriction since it was Installed in 1987. Then they are not compiling with Huss regulations. Do you have a copy of this supposed Safety Bulletin from Huss? -

Or, it could be for Consistency within the Park. -
I think they will probably Finish with the Footers, Check Track Joints, and Tighten Up all the Bolts before they Put the Trains on the Track. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't Mount the Proximity Switches, Limit Switches, Run the Cables to the PLC, etc and Finish Wiring it Before the Trains Go On.
