  1. Congrats Big Mike! Sounds like you and I have a lot in common when it comes to taking photos of everything! Can't wait till your stop at Lagoon and Cowabunga Bay! - Sid
  2. Sounds like New Wheels on Painted Rails to me. Wicked did the same thing when it was brand new. Looks like another fun new Family Coaster option to me. I hope S&S sells a couple more of these with an even longer layout. - Sid
  3. Looks Awesome Shane! Wish I could have been there! - Sid
  4. Hey sixflagsguy5, When will you be coming to Lagoon? - Sid
  5. Hey Shane! If you end up buying a Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop for Cowabunga Bay, you could just use this stuff for it! - Sid
  6. By "We" you mean Sage and Dave? Oh, and what about me? I don't think anyone can imagine all of the Hard Work Shane, Sage, Dave, and everyone does on a daily basis. By the end of the day these guys look beat, and when I get to work the next day, they are there doing it all over again! Oh, and when can I go up in the JLG with you? Can't wait to see that Bucket dump for the first time Shane! - Sid "Thank You for calling Cowabunga Bay" Vernon
  7. At least our "Dragons" at Lagoon are better than Adventureland's single Dragon. Adventureland always looks like a Great Park to visit and hopefully one day I will. - Sid "Fire Dragon for the WIN" Vernon
  8. lagoonisfun.com is a great resource for anything Lagoon related. All of Lagoon's Roller Coasters, Rides, and attractions should be open, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Roller Coaster, Fire Dragon, and Wicked are totally different rides after Dark and really Shine. There have been some less than stellar comments made about lagoon, it's policies, and it's operations. It's best to check your other park experiences at the entrance gate and go in with an open mind. Some of these policies are, there must be 2 Riders in a Train on all of Lagoon's Roller Coasters. Fire Dragon has assigned seating and Loads from the Front of the Train to the Back. There must be 2 Riders in the Front and Last Row of the Train, wherever that "Last Row" may be, on Fire Dragon, Roller Coaster, Puff, and The Bat. Check out Historic Pioneer Village and it's exhibits. Pioneer Village has everything from Civil War Cannons and Guns, to Currency, Antique Carriages, Clothes, and Medical Equipment. Lagoon also has some pretty nice Live Entertainment, especially Rock U2 The Top. Also, Flying Aces, Lagoon's Flyers, Snap quite easily. For discounts on admission tickets bring in a Coke Can before Noon for $5 off. Depending on when you come, I might be able to score some deeper discounts. Lastly, Don't forget to visit Cowabunga Bay in Draper, as TPR's own Montezooma is the Owner and my Boss. - Sid P.S. - Big Mike, long time reader/fan, let me know when you have dates you will be in Utah, because I'm sure those of us at LiF could throw you a Party at Lagoon.
  9. Sorry Tatum, I know you are waiting for the AstroWorld stuff. I was waiting to get it all together and do one HUGE post but I have just moved and things are still in boxes. Maybe for the Season Finale of Shane's Amusement Attic this year I will do a portion of what I have on AstroWorld. Shane, Great Job with the Great America Stuff. I'd sure like to know what happened to the Green Train from the PGA Railroad. I know some campground in Florida owns the Red Train and 5 Coaches and intends to operate it there. I could also help you with the 610 Limited Stuff. - Sid "Train Geek" Vernon
  10. I dunno if you'd want to go down the path of the solution being too technical, but maybe you could buy a bunch of cheap LCD monitors/TVs, put one at each ticket window, and just have in big text on the screen something like: Buy your 4 hour wristband now! You can enter the play structure at: XX:XX And stay until: XX:XX And throughout the day the screen would just refresh depending on the time period. Considering it's not just a Giant Play Structure, but the Giant RainFortress, Slides, and Cowabunga River, that would be even more of a problem. Shane, I'm just happy they got the facts right and mentioned Cowabunga River! - Sid
  11. Shane! Don't you DARE tease me like that! I swear I will be there to tighten bolts ASAP! - Sid
  12. The story was pretty good, minus the incorrect statements, including the one that Cowabunga Bay isn't a Water Park, but just a Giant Play Structure, and the 2,000 Gallon Bucket! There really is nothing like Utah Media, Thank Gods! - Sid
  13. Hello Everyone, I've posted the Latest Construction Update to the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog that includes Photos from Saturday, Sunday, and Today! Bonzai has been Completed from the Slide Entry to the Shut Down Lane and Bombora, Mondo, Hang Ten, Hang Five, and Gremlin are nearly complete as of today! Check Out Today's Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog Update by Clicking HERE! - Sid Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog cowabungabay@yahoo.com
  14. There may be a few people from Utah heading your way this Summer...you have been warned! GREAT Photos, keep them coming! - Sid
  15. Parking will be Free as they are sharing parking with a shopping center/mall. Off Topic: Have you posted your Knott's PTR yet ThemeParkMan25? - Sid
  16. Shane sent me an early copy of the Admission Prices for Cowabunga Bay that I posted to the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog. I'm sure he'd love to hear what everyone thinks about the prices. - Sid Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog cowabungabay@yahoo.com
  17. Thanks for Including the Train Photo Shane! I'm still trying to find out if Great Adventure had Two Crown Metals 24" Gauge Locomotives and Train Sets or just One. Shane, what is your opinion on Rattlesnake Rapids at Lagoon? It has a 40ft Elevation Change after all. - Sid
  18. A new Construction Update has been posted to the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog featuring the GIANT 1,200 Gallon Bucket being lifted into place. Check Out the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog by Clicking HERE. - Sid Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog cowabungabay@yahoo.com
  19. Thai you only go to SFOG for Wheelie! Admit It! Lagoon Park in Farmington, Utah, is my Home Park and only about 35 Minutes away. I go to Lagoon at least once every week and I use my Season Passport about 45 Times a Season. I May be a little Hard Core.
  20. Looks like the Test Train was "Bare" with only the Chassis and Seats. - Sid
  21. Yes, there are many more rides KT can ride and which you all can ride as a family together. Unfortunately, KT has to be 36" to ride the Zierer Family Drop Towers, Lady Bug Bop and Dinosaur Drop, which are like Frog Hoppers on Steroids! Let me know if you guys make plans cause those of us at LiF would be happy to reserve a terrace and throw a potluck for you guys. - Sid
  22. Singing a different song now than you were Friday Shane? I was quite impressed with Jumping Dragon and it's themeing myself. Lagoon has really been stepping up since Spider in 2003 and this is no different. I absolutely LOVE the lanterns and can't wait to see this ride at night! Can you get some Lanterns like that for Cowabunga Bay? You will want to ask the Operator for Cycle 6. Samurai is really running GREAT this year, so I hope you get to experience Cycle 6, it's the only Decent Cycle. Also, let us over at LiF know when you are coming up so we can meet up! A new ride or rides every year since 1994 is a pretty good record that I don't think will change any time soon. In that time only one ride has been removed because it folded in half like a Taco! - Sid
  23. Since there aren't many PTRs of Lagoon Park on here, I decided I would add one. LagoonisFun.com holds Monthly Potluck Parties during the Season and this PTR is from the first one of the year. The group was there to check out some of the new additions the park has made for the 2009 season, including Jumping Dragon. Now, On To the Photos: More Photos can be seen by clicking HERE! - Sid Jumping Dragon gets rave reviews from everyone Jumping Dragon is a really fun ride that just about everyone in a Family can enjoy together. Even though the ride is very similar to the park's Musik Express Ride, Jumping Dragon isn't Rough and as Intense. I'll be adding another Photo TR from the May Potluck Party in May when the Trees aren't bare. Thanks for Reading! Some members of www.LagoonisFun.com get ready to ride Dragon Tail Behind the Big Scary Dragon Head! The Gates and Fencing look great too So are the Lamps and Lanterns around the Ride The 40ft Tall Chinese Pagoda is a nice touch The Bridge and Chinese Gardens haven't been finished yet Thanks to the weather, there is hardly a line for Jumping Dragon These 2 Foo Dog Statues Greet you at the Entrance Big Scary Dragon Head! Jumping Dragon from the Front Jumping Dragon from the Midway Jumping Dragon is KT Friendly! Jumping Dragon Time Sign Jumping Dragon Fun and Safety Guide Jumping Dragon Ride Description Jumping Dragon is a Zierer Chinese Themed Dragon Roundabout Lagoon's new ride for 2009 is Jumping Dragon One problem Lagoon has always had is building Queue Lines that are inadequate. This year Lagoon added about 100ft of Queue Line for Samurai, which will help on busy days, because that line stretched out onto the midway 200+ feet Samurai is running GREAT this year. If you come to Lagoon, be sure to request Cycle 6, it ROCKS! The New Sign and Planter in front of Roller Coaster's Station. Lagoon has also completed it's Safety System Upgrade to Roller Coaster's Trains that included New Lap Bars Last Year and a Lap Bar Position Indicator System on the back of each Car this year Screamer was actually running and running well I might add The New Backdrop for Centennial Screamer that was added in 2008 Front Side of the New Service Station for Speedway Jr. The New Service Station for Speedway Jr. in Kiddieland Our Reserved Terrace for our Pot Luck Since there were overcast skies and a chance of Showers in the afternoon, Lagoon posted their Inclement Weather Notice out side the Main Entrance. From reading some PTRs from Six Flags Great Adventures, they could use a sign like this.
  24. Who knew Shane was Such a Size Queen? There goes any possibility of a Job at Cowabunga Bay for me. I do have to say I'm looking forward to the "Dark and Disorienting" Slides he keeps talking about. - Sid
