  1. No it will not be a fast current, it will be your typical lazy river. Although there is some adjustment we can do on the speed...as a roller coaster enthusiast you know I will run it at it's full potential. I also made sure that the enclosed slides have the thrill factor turned up a bit Shane, you should crank the Jets for Employee Parties! I can't wait to take a run on BONZAI, BOMBORA ,and MONDO! On the subject of the Mountains as a Backdrop, I don't know if people realize the Wasatch Mountains are also the Backdrop for Lagoon, as it's right at the bottom of Farmington Canyon. - Sid
  2. Hey Everyone, Shane gave me another Construction Tour today and I took a bunch of Photos of all the Progress that has been made down at the site. 3. That's definitely a slick looking Huss Enterprise. Also Thai, I'll get some more photos and even video of Centennial Screamer for you on Saturday! That is if it's running...
  4. Ty, here are a few photos of Centennial Screamer at Lagoon for you to Enjoy. - Sid
  5. Sure thing. I will send it to you in high res. Why, are you a trolley fan? I do like Trolleys and Street Cars, one of the many reasons I'd like to visit Lake Compounce. I like just about anything on Rails anyway, but the highlight, was operating the 24" Gauge Live Steam Locos at Lagoon for 4 Years. - Sid
  6. Shane, Is there any way I could take a gander at the Valleyfair! Brochure in Person or Get a High Res Scan of that "Trolley"? - Sid
  7. I thought an Unlocked Gate to Main Power Disconnects for an entire Ride Area at Wild Waves in 2003 was pretty funny. - Sid
  8. If Robb, Elissa, and KT visit Utah and re-visit Lagoon (I'm sure you will be there mainly for Cowabunga Bay), you will see most of the Zierer Family Ride Catalog. In 2004 the Park Purchased the Zierer Kontiki and Eli Bridge Spider right off the IAAPA Floor, Twin Zierer Family Drop Towers in 2006, a Zierer Flying Fish in 2008, and a Zierer Dragon Roundabout for 2009. These are all rides that Families can Enjoy Together. Some of the Best Memories I have at Lagoon and many other Amusement Parks are of riding those rides with my family....the entire family, from 5-65. - Sid
  9. I have posted another Construction Update to the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog. Thanks for the Exclusive Photos Shane! Click HERE to view the Construction Update on the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog. - Sid Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog

  11. I'm surprised Wes hasn't said anything about Paving Over HKDL yet! - Sid
  12. Gee Shane, Thanks for the Heads Up on the whole Steel Assembly Thing! I posted an Update Today, with Photos from Shane and some I took last Saturday, on the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog. Click HERE to Visit the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog. I'm hoping Shane will let me know when the Structure goes Vertical, cause I'd Love to be there! - Sid
  13. Intermountain Lift, Inc., of Springville, Utah, is the Steel Fabrication Sub Contractor for Premier Rides. Has anyone seen any Support Columns with the Track Sections? I wonder if Premier has another Sub Contractor Fabricating the Support Columns. I'd drop down to Intermountain Lift, but I live in Salt Lake City and it's a 45 Minute Drive. - Sid
  14. I remember the OLD Entrance Pretty Well, as we had to wait 45 minutes to 1 Hour just to purchase the Tickets with the stupid "Points." My Family first visited Grand Slam Canyon in Mid October 1993, when the park was almost 2 months old and still very new. The Lobby for Grand Slam Canyon was located at the base of the Escalators and had what was much like a Hotel Registration Desk where you purchased your Tickets and "Points." The wall behind the Ticket Counter was designed to look like a Canyon Wall with Dinosaur Bones in it, kind of like the old visitors center at Dinosaur National Monument. Once you purchased your Points on the Ticket, you went to the Escalators that took you up to the Park Entrance. We spent about 4 Hours in the dome riding Canyon Blaster & Rim Runner, waiting about 30 Minutes for each of them. I remember Canyon Blaster was running both Trains and I don't know how many boats on Rim Runner. The only real trouble we had was having to get more Points added to our tickets a couple times, which we had to wait like 20 minutes to purchase. Man that was a pain in the butt! If I remember correctly, there were 5 Total Attractions when the park was new in 1993 with Canyon Blaster, Rim Runner, the "Water Coaster," Laser Tag, and the 3-D Movie Theater. I also remember the robotic Dinosaurs. I'm happy to see in the photos that Rim Runner still has the Weirs in the Trough, cause the Rapids were pretty awesome back then. I remember a "Water Coaster" like those from White Water, that was there when Grand Slam Canyon was still new. I don't think it lasted very long, cause when I visited in May 1995, the "Water Coaster" was gone. Between October, 1993 and May, 1995, the Bumper Cars, Ferris Wheel, Miner Mike, Road Runner, Airplane Ride, and maybe the BC Bus and Carousel had been added. - Sid
  15. Rct3man777, was the article you read in The Spectrum? http://www.thespectrum.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2009902250316 First, I thought I would point out to everyone that this Town's name is pronounced "HUR ih Kun" not "hur ih KANE." Second, I'd like to know what this "All World Family, LLC" means when they say the following: "Ron Sinclair, Chairman and Dean Hawks, CEO are strong advocates for family values and for high ethical standards for business. They are avid supporters of the Constitution of the United States and want to see the country embrace the values intended by our founding fathers." and "Our World Family will only employ people who meet and maintain their high standards." This almost sounds like Chris Buttars might be a part of this thing! Also, for everyone saying this project would hurt Lagoon's business, I don't see how that's possible. Lagoon's Market includes Northern Utah, Southern Idaho, Western Nevada, and Eastern Wyoming. It seems like this park would more likely draw people from Las Vegas if anywhere. - Sid
  16. Well, you know, Six Flags in Tooele and Lehi! It must be true! I do know Young Living Farms in Mona had plans drawn up years ago for a Theme Park, but I highly doubt it will EVER get built. - Sid
  17. Wow! No drinking was involved? I'd be afraid to find out what happens when drinking IS Involved! Now who's gonna pay for my Therapy? - Sid
  18. Is this the "Universal Studios Utah" thing from like a Decade Ago?
  19. Today, Shane was nice enough to give me a Construction Tour of Cowabunga Bay and ask a bunch of Questions. The Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog has been Updated with Lots of New Information and Photos from Today's Construction Tour. A Huge Thanks goes out to Shane! To Check Out the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog and Photos Click HERE. Gav, to answer your question, it was simply a Business Decision and that's all. Thanks Again Shane! You Rock! - Sid *Once again, sorry for the Double Post*
  20. I had plans to ask Shane that very Question Tomorrow. I suspect it may be that White Water West's In House Design Department may have been the reason he went with White Water. - Sid
  21. Shane sent me some new Exclusive Photos from the Cowabunga Bay Construction Site Today. I posted the Photos and Shane's Notes on the Cowabunga Bay Construction Blog. *Sorry for the Double Post*
