  1. Photopass+ adds in character dining photos as well as certain ride photos. Regular Photopass pre-order is still offered at WDW for about $30 less. The following rides participate in Photopass+: WDW: Space Mountain Splash Mountain Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Tower of Terror Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Expedition Everest Dinosaur (Test Track photos are already available in regular Photopass) DLR: Space Mountain Splash Mountain Tower of Terror California Screamin’ Radiator Springs Racer (Buzz Lightyear photos are already free to email)
  2. They tested this on Indy, Legend, and Grandeur last year in Europe and Asia. The prices were $29/person/day for all beers and glasses of house wine, an extra $10/person/day to add non-premium liquor and cocktails, and an extra $20/person/day to add non-premium liquor and cocktails and any wines up to $10/glass. All the packages also included a 25% discount on alcohol above what is included. As for the unlimited Internet, here is the flyer from yesterday's Allure sailing. I am assuming that this is just a test launch.
  3. That sign should've said "game over" at the bottom.
  4. As long as they keep the made-to-order ice cream sandwiches, this change is fine by me.
  5. I wonder if they're talking about using a collimated display, which would make the scenery out the window appear to be at a distance. I'm not aware of any collimated displays used in theme parks, so that would be neat to see. However, it would make the train cars huge.
  6. GG: Are your rides designed entirely on the computer, or do you begin with paper sketches and layouts?
  7. GG: When you first ride a ride you've designed are there ever parts that surprise you, or is the experience always exactly what you expected?

  14. No, I don't find it unsettling or disappointing. As others have said, this is the lunch quick-service mode. The touch screens are well themed, and the RFID "Magic Rose" is something I haven't seen anywhere else. I also don't understand why the fact that WaWa uses touch screens automatically dismisses them. Would you prefer they use the same menu boards and ordinary cash registers that you use to order a burger at McDonalds, or the same laminated menus you use to order at Fuddruckers? And why the RDIF hate? Being able to just place your "rose" on the table and having your food "magically" show up is something you can't find at any other quick-service restaurant (yes, it's just a fancier version of the sign with a number on it that many places use, but I'm sure you would've complained if they used the same sign-with-a-number-on-it as Hardee's).
  15. At the risk of feeding the troll, I have to disagree. I don't remember a Little Mermaid attraction in the Magic Kingdom. Nor do I remember a Beauty and the Beast attraction in that park. While Snow White had a small dark ride, the new coaster is a much larger experience (you might even say it was "expanded"). I'll concede that Storybook Circus was more of an overhaul than an expansion (but way more than a refurb, which implies restoring to its original condition), but the Fantasy Forest is definitely an expansion.
  16. I haven't seen Big Mike post anywhere on TPR since the storm. I hope everything is okay at Big Mike HQ.
  17. Way to bring up a 7.5-year-old thread.
  18. Okay, you can't just tease us like that. You gotta share the rest of that story!
  19. Well, it took two months of planning, 144 photos, a custom computer program capable of evaluating over 17 million combinations of ride signs, a ridiculously long Six Flags ride name, and the fortunate late October opening of a ride with both an X and a Q in the name (I was really afraid of California competition that would be able to use Quicksilver Express in Gilroy). Without further ado, I present all the letters of the english alphabet in four rides:
  20. The link above worked for me. Try this one: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-865019 The video shows some of the high seas and stores with all the merchandise on the floor.
  21. There were signs leading to a back exit, but the gate at that exit was locked. Cars that followed the sign got trapped by the cars behind them and were stuck for an hour until someone rammed the gate.
  22. That's why I always park at one of the private lots south of the parking lot entrance. Cheaper, shorter walk to the park, and no traffic getting out.
