  1. For my pick, I choose the: OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
  2. I just realized I never posted my duckie guess, so put me down for 5.
  3. The mirror/door effect at is simply amazing. It's like the D23 Expo portal on steroids!
  4. It IS in Town Square every night, per the Disney Parks Blog.
  5. Does the "no duplicate parks" rule from round 1 still apply? If I post 5 and someone else posts 6, do I have to go to a third park to get 7?
  6. Did we ever get an official count for the Knoebels Duckies?
  7. I think that that those are Mare Tranquillitatis and Mare Serenitatis, and that it's an actual picture of the Moon.
  8. I got in several years ago by saying that I was meeting the rest of my family inside.
  9. Hmm, I just discovered that themeparkreview.com/bigmike will take you directly to this thread. How cool is that?
  10. If the new padding is "better" then I would have hated to have ridden with the old. I went to Hershey on Monday evening and took my first ride. Restraints aside, the ride really is amazing. The airtime is extreme and that first drop really is unbelievable. With that said, the fact that my legs were going numb because the bar was placing so much pressure on my thighs really detracted from the ride experience. By the time the ride was whipping around to enter the last two bunny hops, I couldn't wait for it to be over. I rode once and I was quite happy with only riding once. There was a small girl in the seat in front of me that was literally in tears because of the restraints pinning her in so hard. I was surprised to hear several other riders that were on my train complaining about the discomfort caused by the lap bars as well. Hershey has a problem on their hands it seems. While I definitely commend them on trying to quickly address with the new padding, hopefully they can find a resolution during the off season to help ease the issue a bit more. I'm really not one to complain about rides being too rough or painful and usually have a high tolerance for such. This was honestly the first time where it really was unbearable for me...and I have bruises on my thighs to prove it. It probably wouldn't have been nearly as bad if you didn't have to sit on the brake run for several minutes while they are loading the other train. I went to Hershey fully expecting to be blown away with the Sky Rush experience. Instead, I left happy that I only had to ride it once. I'd be willing to give it another fair shake on my next visit, but this time I much preferred spending my time riding Storm Runner (which I had never ridden) and Lightning Racer (which was a lot more fun that I remember it being). On a positive note, kudos to Hershey on the new Sooper Dooper Looper trains. Had a great ride on it and would have loved another ride had the queue line not been over flowing! - Todd Yet the consensus by the Powers That Be is still that we are a bunch of whiners who don't deserve intense rides.
  11. Don't complain too much -- you got the world's tallest drop ride instead.
  12. Any idea when the next round of the still-somewhat-epic contest will be posted? I will be on a remote island next week with Arosania, and with no real amusement parks nearby, we'd hate to miss it.
  13. Yeah like a log flume or a huge Ferris Wheel... sigh In their defense, the replacement for the Ferris Wheel was a water ride.
  14. I was thinking the same, even a simpler ladder up the support to catwalk platform (much like the ladders on V2's support. Sure, it won't be suited for an evac but can very easily be used by maintenance to come up and perhaps give the train a push...given that it was one of those weaker launches that I mentioned earlier... If they wanted to get all fancy, they could even install a $50 manual winch.
  15. I count LR as two rides. They are different experiences and completely separate tracks. They are even ranked separately in Mitch's poll.
  16. At Holiwood Nights a couple of years back they mentioned that they would consider Timberliners for the Raven and the Legend if they worked out well on the Voyage. So, yeah...
  17. EDIT: Article about the Star Flyer at http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/07/six_flags_new_england_wants_to.html mentions that the Zoning Board will be doing a site visit on Wednesday before making a decision. The article also mentions that Six Flags will be installing another Star Flyer somewhere in the chain (would fit in with the SFOT rumors).
  18. Posting live from a beautiful summer day at Canobie Lake Park. I'll be back with my duckie guess later. EDIT 7/30/2012: Uploaded the photo directly to TPR instead of using tapatalk
