  1. Oh god, that looks horrible. I hope it's better in person than those sketches and descriptions make it sound. I was worried when the playlist was posted, but this just seems like a geriatric wedding band trying to be hip and edgy.
  2. I'm planning to do a Philly day when I go to the Skyrush opening day at Hershey. The Liberty Bell is definitely on my to-do list, but I'm still trying to decide if I should go to Pat's or Gino's for an authentic Philly Cheese Steak.
  3. Looks like the Lamarcus Brothers website expired.
  4. I also once had a bird just like that. He was great for our electric bill -- he would squawk loudly if we left the room without turning off the lights first, and give a polite thank-you chirp when we did turn them off. He never complained about the lights while we were actually in the room. Unfortunately, he liked to play with his own reflection in the mirror more than any of us.
  5. It doesn't have to blow test track away. My comment was based solely on my personal preference for airtime and tunnels, and my person dislike of industrial theming (I probably should've added "for me" to my comment). Test Track is still one of my favorite Disney attractions, and I agree that any ride on that scale is a huge win for DCA. I think most Americans who visit Disney parks are going to make a mental connection between the two rides since the cars look so similar (and since few will have even heard of JttCotE at TDS), and I'm sure that some will prefer Test Track based on its theme, it being 25mph faster, and it being more aimed towards thrillseekers.
  6. Wow! This ride is going to blow Test Track away.
  7. I'm glad Knott's decided to add additional rides to the ERT. The Knott's website, until today, read the following: I corrected my post above.
  8. Part of the problem could've been that the only coaster ERT listed on the Knott's website was on Boomerang, which is not exactly what most coaster enthusiasts would go for. Just a few years ago Solace had ERT on 6 coasters. I guess West Coast Bash extending to cover Knott's instead of just being the same weekend as Solace made it a bit redundant. EDIT: The Knott's website was incorrect. According to the event flyer there was also ERT on Xcelerator, GhostRider, and Silver Bullet.
  9. I've always seen the brochures for Six Gun City when I drive up into New Hampshire, but I've never been there. Looks like a cute park!
  10. Wow, looks like you're the only one to find the correct 4th Ducky!
  11. I can claim none of your missing parks and only five of your missing coasters (unless you count Goliath at SFNE and DejaVu at SFMM as the same). Green Lantern: First Flight at Magic Mountain in California Road Runner Express at Magic Mountain in California Cyclone at Lakeside in Colorado Dragon at Lakeside in Colorado Kiddie Coaster at Lakeside in Colorado How did you manage to get on Wild Chipmunk at Lakeside and miss the other coasters?
  12. Could you actually see the mexican border at night from the coaster? Oh, and Megan does looks great in that bikini.
  13. May 26th, according to wikipedia. However, the "Junior Researchers" were warned in the fall that they might miss that date due to all the flooding last year. I don't know how their current progress matches up with their original schedule, as the mild winter might've helped them make up time.
  14. I just got a Survey from Universal Orlando that was asking about an additional Universal Express product that would "allow visitors to view attraction wait times and make ride reservations all from a hand held device". Sounds like they are thinking of adding a Q-bot style system in the future. This would be a downgrade from the current Universal Express, so I hope they won't raise the price on the "classic" version too much.
  15. Give arosania the credit -- she's the one that discovered the place and convinced me to go.
  16. Here's my entry for the 2012 "SUPER EPIC" Contest. Arosania and I visited Fun World in Nashua, NH, home of Big Mike's 752nd roller coaster, the Orient Express (it was only #181 for me). After riding the coaster, we attempted to try and take a picture with the sign. Unfortunately, the location that Big Mike was standing when he took his picture is now a go-kart track, so we had to hike around the building, out the driveway, and take the picture from the street. I'm also curious to see where people saw a 4th ducky!
  17. I saw a lot of "4 duckies" posts, but since this is "find the duckies" not "guess the duckies", I have to go with 3. Lock me in for 3!
  18. Wow, I completely missed the one on Jeff's shoulder. I assumed the Aquafina umbrella was everyone's 6th duck, and managed to convince myself that it was part of the pole.
  19. I looked and looked, but could only see 5 duckies. Lock me in!
  20. It looks like CoasterDynamix has started a Kickstarter campaign to fund a production run of some of their projects. For those of you that don't know how Kickstarter works, it's a bit like a PBS pledge drive for small projects. Companies and individuals create a project goal (in this case, raise $50,000 by 4/10/2012), and supporters can then donate towards those goals that they think are worthwhile. While you can contribute any amount over $1, there are rewards for certain pledge levels. You only pay if the goal is reached, so there's no risk of funding a failed project. Coaster Dynamix has put up a series of rewards, ranging from $15 for a Statix model and $35 for a Sidewinder working launched coaster all the way up to $500 for a hand built birch wooden coaster model and $5000 for a custom designed coaster. Again, you only have to pay (and only get the reward) if they reach there goal. NOTE: I am not affiliated with CoasterDynamix in any way, but some of their employees DO post on TPR (DLDude, CD_Staff, and Jack Rimer).
