My vote is for Mardi Gras. That or Cinco de Mayo. -

Are you talking about the lap bars again? As someone that has ridden plenty of forceful (i305, El Toro, The Voyage, Bizarro at SFNE) and uncomfortable (Ghostrider, Psyclone, pre-retracking The Voyage, Shockwave at KD, Zamperla Volare, etc.) roller coasters, I can say that the Skyrush problem is unique. The old restraints (I haven't tried the new softer ones) for many people put a lot of pressure on a very tiny part of your thighs causing quite a bit of pain and bruising after a few rides. The experience was similar to having the skinny side of a wooden ruler jammed into your legs over and over again. I can't wait to try the new softer restraints -- hopefully they spread the pressure out over a larger area. -
There's no way they can offer the "latency of fiber" via a satellite connection. The O3b satellites orbit at 8063km, which means that at the speed of light, the signal will take about 120ms to travel from the Caribbean, up to the satellite in an equatorial orbit, down to the base station in Texas, back to the satellite, and back to the ship. That's in addition to any latency between the base station and the site you are trying to reach. My home internet has round-trip latency of about 10ms for many sites. That extra 110ms can make a difference for things like online games and VOIP. I can't believe they're charging more for that water slide than for the alpine coaster. And, while I'm on the topic, if I were only going to do one of the alpine coasters on my upcoming cruise, would you recommend the one in Jamaica or the one at Labadee?

^^I think the most efficiently operated coasters are California Screamin or Paris' Space Mountain. Both can get pretty close to their 2400 people per hour THRC. -

Really, your complaint about Skyrush is that it isn't tall enough? The comet is 84', so 150' would be less than twice that height. Skyrush is clearly more than twice as tall as The Comet: -

A lot of this is an optical illusion caused by the massively thick I-beam structure of the track. If you're used to seeing normal sized track 200 feet away, the larger track will look closer. -

^Yes, one of the many superfluous signs that only Hershey would put up. -

How does not feeling the inversions make it great? If you can't feel them, what's the point? -
The second patent sounds like the scene mapping projections they put into Snow White at Disneyland. Not to mention the Magic, Memories, and You projection shows. I wouldn't read too much into what Disney (or any company, for that matter) patents. Most patents never get used, and many are for concepts that have never been tested and may not even work. There are patents for time machines and perpetual motion.

Really? Back when E Ticket actually meant something (other than an argument buzzword), the following rides were among the official E Tickets: * Disneyland Railroad * Monorail * Submarine Voyage * Mark Twain Steamboat * Sailing Ship Columbia * Tom Sawyer Island * Enchanted Tiki Room * It's a Small World All those rides had less thrills, full AAs, and theming than RSR, and all could be considered "kids" rides (and none in that list had height or age limits).
