I don't think ass pirates would be welcome on a Disney ship. -

If you're not going with your parents, I believe that Princess and Disney are the only lines that let 18-20 year-olds sail without parents or adult chaperones. That said, my girlfriend's younger sister had a great time sailing with just friends on Princess before she turned 21, especially because there were so many people her age in the 18+ discos. -

I think this picture sums up Robb and Elissa's feelings on the cruise perfectly: Robb: "Ooh! Fireworks! Hidden Mickey!" Elissa: "Hmm, there's got to be something in this Navigator for us to do other than stare at the magic porthole." -

The difference is that now, the train on the brake run moves into the station as the first train is starting up the lift. Since the lift is so fast and there are no blocks between the lift and your proposed unload station, it would mean that the first train wouldn't be able to start up the lift until the second train is empty and the gates are closed. In other words, it could actually make the capacity worse. -

^And that's assuming that they meant to type "descent" instead of "decent". -

They lost me at "decent from station to lift". -
There are some great deals on 5-night Liberty of the Seas cruises out of Ft. Lauderdale in November (under $300 for an inside), and the ship is going to be virtually identical to Freedom of the Seas. Check out http://vacationstogo.com/ticker.cfm?sort=v&r=13&l=14&d=320&sd=1&sm=201211&tm=201211&md=5&xd=90&sp=y for prices of Royal Caribbean cruises out of Ft. Lauderdale in November (use email address none@none.com to log in)

Canobie Lake Park Discussion Thread

Equinox was running with guests a bit yesterday, but it broke down several times. I'm surprised they're having so much trouble with a ride that is designed to be portable. The lights look great at night, but i'm so not thrilled with the sound package on the ride, as it ruins the ambiance of the adjacent Antique Carousel. The park was also as busy as I've ever seen it. The main lot was full, the grass lot was almost full, and there was a constant stream of busses shuttling people from an off site lot. The only line under 20 minutes was the Tiki Maze, and the lines for the haunts were 2+ hours. -

Rename the Voyage when it gets the new Timberliners? I wouldn't expect anything major -- just a couple of weeks ago Dan Koch was quoted as saying: -
I agree that Iron Man would be a great fit for Tomorrowland. Especially in light of the second movie. Some of the other nerd-rage complaints on that other forum are that Iron Man takes place in the present, not the future (good thing there aren't rides that take place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away -- oh wait...) and that the Iron Man character was created almost 50 years ago (yet I don't see any complaints about the Jules Verne theming at Disneyland Paris). I think some people like to complain. On the other hand, I probably have no leg to stand on, as I had no problem with a Buzz Lightyear themed ride in Tomorrowland, as I saw it being themed to the cartoon character from the show within the movie, not the toy.

Redd's is back open, but if you haven't been to the Hungry Bear since they redid the menu last year, I would highly suggest giving it a try. The Fried Green Tomatoes sandwich is the best sandwich I've ever had in Disneyland, and I don't even like tomatoes that much. The chili burger is also a major step above the typical theme park burger.

7 years ago today, this thread was started as a "Flying Turns announced" thread. Here's hoping that we get a "Flying Turns opened" thread going before the 8th anniversary. -

It's not just you. CCI/Gravity Group has a pretty horrible track record with their larger rides becoming terribly rough after 5-10 years. The only rides with 100+ft drops that seem to have held up are their terrain coasters (i,e, Boulder Dash and Legend). I'm not even sure Boulder Dash counts, since GCI did re-tracking and re-profiling.

20/21 for me. Got the D.A.F.E. one wrong. I guessed on N.A.P.H.A. and A.D.I.P.S., so I could've easily gotten 18/21 like everyone else. -
I guess the no reride policy helps them sell platinum flash passes. On a side note, I had a hilarious experience on Nitro at Great Adventure, where an unfortunate Asian employee with a thick accent was assigned to the PA microphone at the end of the day. "Welcome to Nitwo! There are no wewides allowed. No wewides!"

rolercstrluvr already picked both the St Louis and the AZ Cardinals. Here's my Super Epic entry: 18 Some of the signs are hard to read due to the bright sun that day, but they all said "We Love Big Mike". You can see that if you enhance it with photoshop, as I did below: If the team at Big Mike World Headquarters disqualify too many people in that picture because the signs are less than visible, I also have a clearly visible picture with 15 that I took after manually adjusting the brightness on my camera:
